This is great, with 3 active boys and all of the running with them dinner is not always top of mind. I'm going to save this and try it out.

1) I typically runn outside weather permitting and I use a Garmin watch which keeps distance, pace, heart rate and other good stuff. I know of some people that use mapmyrun.com for distance. 2) The treadmill isn't that bad if you need to be inside. Sometimes I'll run at our community center (13 laps to a mile) you're…

Great Job, keep it up, all of your hard work is paying off!!!!

YES!!!!!!! This has caused great problems for me leading up to a stress fracture:cry: .You need to try and run more towards the center of the road if possible, find a bike path or something. I had to take 4-6 weeks off of running and I still have some propblems with it. I hope that you're catching this early enough that…

Congratulations on your success!!!

I heard a saying once that I loved: If your coming over to see me, come over anytime. If your coming to see my house, then make an appointment.

You look GREAT!!!! Good job on all of your hard work, it's paying off!

This sounds similar to how I was. I started working out, around 9ish, after the kids went to bed. I'd go to the 24hr. fitness place and get on the treadmill or lift, by the time I got home I no longer had the urge to eat.

Try some almonds.

Due to a hetic schedule I usually exercise at night and it's not uncommon for me to eat dinner afterwards which is sometimes at 8:30. I have read conflicting things about not eating 3 hours before bed. I know that if I eat dinner earlier (5:30-6:00) and then go out and burn 600 calories and don't eat, I can't fall asleep…

Almonds.

Sounds Yummy, I'll have to try them.

Great Job on the loss, I can't wait to hear about the spin story. Spinning will get you in great shape for RAGBRAI or TOMRV

Welcome Marie, this is a great site, easy to use, with lots of motivation and support.

Great Job!!!! What an inspiration!!!!

Unless you're eating a lot at dinner, I'm guessing that you're not taking in enough calories especially on the days that you're doing Zumba. The body needs at least 1200 per day and you need to eat the calories that you burn from exercise (at least try to). If you're leaving too many calories on the table you're hindering…

Ran 4 miles today which brings the group total to 138.54

I think that your goal is realistic. You do need to be at 1200 calories a day especially once you start getting active, you'll need to eat those exercise calories. Sometimes at the end of the night I'll have a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter to so I don't have as many extra calories (since I can't always eat always…

Welcome!! This site has really helped me with portion control. I exercise a lot but could never lose the weight and then a friend at the gym told me that it's about the diet. I still pretty much eat what I want which is the nice thing and I don't feel deprived, I just don't eat as much of it. Good Luck on your journey,…

Way to Go!!!!!

Welcome Lana!!! This is a great site, very easy to use and the support is wonderful.

You're still burning calories, even if it's the same mileage everyday. As you get stronger your MPH my increase which will give you a better workout, also outside conditions (WIND :frown: ) can also affect your ride. Here in the midwest this is a challenge, especially when the corn isn't up to block it  . Keep up…

I'll do it again this month but am NOT setting a mileage goal. I almost killed myself trying to get 100 miles in

Sounds like it would be a great workout. I'm interested in the responses that you'll get. Does it also help your core muscles or just upper body?

What a great accomlishment!!! You work hard and you're seeing results, way to go!!!

We're out running  . I didn't think I would make my 100 miles in August since I started the challenge (from a different group) about a 9 days into the month, I've done 41 miles in the last 8 days and I'm taking a few days off  . I have a 5K the next 2 Saturdays and am doing a half at the end of the month,…

I wear Brooks (Adrenaline's), Asics are also a good running shoe, they just don't feel right on my arches but I have a few friends that LOVE them.

I started going to a 24/7 workout place at around 9pm when I would normaly veg out on the couch, watch tv and snack. This seem to help me with late night snacking. I no longer go there but do the majority of my exercise in the evening for this reason.
