Thanks... take a look at my diet yesterday - that's pretty indicative of what I eat. I don't eat overly processed foods. I DO eat a mix of white and whole grain breads, but aside from the white breads, I eat whole foods pretty much exclusively. Also, I DO budget for ice cream every day... I'd go crazy without a little…

I drink infinite amounts of flavored seltzer. It's fizzy and yum! Not stuff with fake sugars - it has flavor, but not sweetness (Polar makes really good ones - pomegranate, cranberry-lime). I sometimes mix a little juice into it (I love grapefruit juice) - not alot - just like a quarter cup of juice into a pint of water.…

This is my second child. My body changed a little after the first - more thighs and hips, but I got back to my prepregnancy weight, and lost an additional 3 lbs. My body seems to have changed even more after the second. Both of my children were born pretty early - my first was born at 31 weeks, but had died just before his…

Hi all, Thanks so much for all your posts. I wonder if I AM one of the people who will keep that last 10 lbs on until I wean her. I have no plans for that, and SO wanted to lose the weight for a June vacation, but... oh well... her nutrition is more important than 9 lbs. I get that same feeling when I cut calories that…

I did the same thing last night, but it was with my mom's home cooking... baked chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and GRAVy galore.... And 2 - yes 2 pieces of chocolate cake... It's the first day in the nearly 2 weeks since I started here that I've done that, and frankly, I'm not going to write it up. I enjoyed every bite.…

Hey all, I was moving along great for about a week - losing a little weight, but just found out on Thursday that I'm pregnant! I reset all my goals and stuff to gain weight slowly. I set my goals to gain .2 lbs a week through the first trimester, and then will up it again later to about 1 lb a week. Has anyone else used…

I always eat breakfast - fruit and oatmeal, and I always walk at least 30 minutes in the morning to get my energy going ASAP. I often input tomorrow's food today - at least the main dishes/proteins so I can plan around that. Veggies and fruits fit around those higher calorie things, and are generally similar in caloric…

wouldn't it be great if sleeping was the ultimate weight loss plan?? I have no great explanation of where the weight goes overnight.... I'm interested too!

TY all for the responses... TRL - that's what I did with mine too. I put down sedentary, but told them that I was going to work out 60 minutes a day, 7 days a week. I thought that was where my exercise was taken into account. allaboutme - I am eating my exercise calories. That's what makes this diet so great to me! I…

Hey all, I'm not complaining, but according to my scale, I've lost 4 lbs in the 1 week since I started tracking all my calories and exercise. I'm worried that I'm doing something wrong and may be hurting my metabolism in the long run. I only want to lose 9, so it seems crazy and unhealthy to lose 4 in one week. I'm eating…

Just wanted to add that for me, I usually see a slight increase in weight for the 2 weeks before I'm due for that nasty old hag. Hormonal changes can really throw the scale for a loop! However, during the 2 weeks afterwards, I usually tend to have more energy and stamina.... so it balances out.

Your success is highly related to how much you want it. If you feel like dieting is a punishment, you will fight yourself into overeating - the thing that makes you feel fulfilled. If you feel like working hard for a healthy lifestyle is actually a gift to yourself, then you will fight to make it work. I know it sounds…

Hi - your post made me think of 2 things I've heard recently. First, I read in a health magazine (so not exactly science here) that people who visualized lifting weights gained almost as much strength as people who actually did the lifting. Hmm... I believe that visualization can add to strength, because when you visualize…

Hi all, I just started here yesterday, and really like the format of this site - it's so easy to use. Anyway, I have just a small amount of weight to lose, but have never been successful keeping off even a pound, and watch my weight crawl up year after year. I'm tired of it. I quit smoking 3 months ago (yay!), and my…
