  • I know things can be tough, but nothing is worth dying for, unless it is to save another. Life is too precious to waste the one we are given. I want to live as long as I can, be it with or without my anxiety. One thing that helps me is to remember that someone out there always has it worse than I do. It gives me strength…
  • There is a major significance, and they need to know. If they are ignorant, they can't do anything to help you, and to me, if your family can't understand you, then that is just sad. My father suffers Panic Disorder like I do, so he is knowledgeable about the condition, but at the same time, he isn't the type to talk and…
  • Yeah, I do the same with lavender epsom salt.
  • I play a lot of Dance Dance Revolution. Before I couldn't hit over 1,000 calories a day without triggering majorly bad anxiety attacks, then after a few weeks of progressing, I have been able to hit nearly 3,000 calories and feel good. I think sometimes what keeps my anxiety at bay is building momentum over the weeks to…
  • The best cure so far for me is to stop when I feel anxious. As you progress, your body starts to become accustomed to it. I have not had any exercise related anxiety lately, and it was only 4 weeks ago I started to diet and exercise again. Just take it easy, and try not over doing it until your body can adjust and react…
  • You could try Dance Dance Revolution like me! Been my main cardio for a month now, and some days, I hit over 1K calories in an hour! Of course, I am still in the 200 club at 5' 6'' and I play on the more difficult settings, but if you get good enough, you can definitely blow off some major calories in little time!
  • My anxiety seems more consistant at night. They say it takes about 3 minutes for one to fully set in, and can be stopped before it even starts. I read it on google last night.
  • Hey everyone! Just checking in! Been so busy these past few days... I hope everyone has had some great, low to no anxiety days, and I hope everyone is doing well on their quest to be a healthier you!
  • Medication can give that robbing sensation. I remember when I was on Prozac and Seroquel. I became a suicidal zombie, and immediately took myself off the medication. Even the ones that work for me make me feel drunk. I am breaking finally after 5 years, and plan on returning to the doctor.
  • I was on meds 5 years ago, before I discharged from the army. After I got home, my anxiety went away for a while, then came back hardcore. Now, I just need to get to the doctor to get back on medicine, or at least get my lorazepam back so I have something to take as needed. Medicine can make all the difference in the world…
  • I know how you feel about the car thing. The last weekend of April, the wife and I took a 2 hour trip in the car to Indiana. By the time we got there, I was being eaten alive with anxiety. I too have to roll the windows down, or I feel like I am going to lose all the oxygen in the car, and suffocate. I just can't handle…
  • I'm glad everyone is out in the open with everything... If anyone wants to, I have a blog that is specifically about panic disorder, and well... Most of the stuff NOT to do is pretty duh lol, but you never know what people do and don't know. The blog is called "Having Heart Can Be Hard With Panic Disorder..." As for…
  • That's good you found something that helps you. Anything that brings back one's peace of mind is a miracle drug in my book, as long as it doesn't cause a laundry list of other side effects.
  • Wow, I just made this group at 2 in the morning, and already we have 33 members? Wow! I just want to welcome everybody, even those whom haven't posted anything yet. If you find info here that is helpful to you in your quest, then I feel creating this group was a grand idea! A little more history on my panic disorder... My…
  • Ha ha!!! I love it! Don't worry about the science behind things, because we all obviously have access to google :-) and I am familiar with the fight and flight response. It is tied in with acute and obtuse stress. Acute being when a child or animal darts out in front of your car, and you slam on your brakes, and obtuse is…
  • I never was into lavender's scent either, and it is so-so to me still, but I have found it to work wonders. As for recognizing your anxiety, you are absolutely right! A lot of attacks can be stopped if we can just shut our brains off and not think about having an attack, because all we are doing is throwing kindle on a…
  • On top of that, I never understood why they used seroquel. It never helped my anxiety, just made me a zombie, and I would still wake up gasping for air on the brink to sleep!
  • This is a great suggestion too. I am really wanting to try it myself. Damn, I should have started a sleep forum too lol.
  • Honestly, breathing and meditation were probably the two things that kept mine dorment for so long. Definitely a good practice! As for your sleep, as I posted, lavender is awesome. I use the lavender epsom salt, and bubble bath. Soak for 20+ minutes, then use lavender lotion. Also, I hear chamomile tea is excellent, but I…
  • Alright, we got a couple rolling! I am just going to say this now. If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me. If one person gets good results out of this group, than in my eyes, it was well worth making!
  • I have heard of that before. I will look into it! Don't have many central markets, but worst case if it isn't in the organic section of the grocer, can always look online!
  • Also, I have started the first topic. Anyone is free to state a little bit about themselves, and the anxiety that they suffer.
  • Alright, "Anxiety Support Group" is the name of the group. I started the group due to the request. As for adding me, feel free!
  • Give me some time, and I will start a group. Still learning how to do things on this site lol. I have a blog posted, but not sure how to direct anyone to it :-p
  • @Ed I would love to get kinect. It seems awesome and the XBox 360 is amazing. Only problem I have with it is the price. I have a ps3 from way back when. I was just out the military with no responsibilities, so I bought one. As for peole looking for a full body workout, if you get the ps3 version, with the PS move, it will…
  • They are muscular... Nothing weird about that. Those calves look like they could cut diamond! Do you dance a lot? I hear it really works the calves!
  • I tend to stick to a Calorie diet. It is the simplest, and most effective in my opinion. If you consume less calories, you lose more weight. I also balance out all the foods I take in. I eat fruit, veggies, grain, meat ect. in pretty equal quantities, and it seems to be working for me.
  • I am a stay at home dad. Was 228 when I started, but now down to 215 in two weeks. I have a son and a daughter. Anyone whom needs a friend feel free to add me. I never turn down friends and I am on this site or my app probably at least once per hour or two unless I am asleep of course.
  • Thanks to those who added me!
  • Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat. You may not necessarily be losing weight, but you are making progress. That is the important thing. I would take measurements as well. You may be losing somewhere else.
