it is really about the week as a total. If you want to lose a pound a week, you need to cut 3500 calories a week. You can divid that 3500 up any way you want. Weight Watchers does this by giving you daily points and weekly points. Weekly points are really just some of your daily points place under a different category so…

Don't do cheat days! Have a meal that is more decadent than you usually allow, but don't just pretend a whole day doesn't count. Even when I do go overboard, I still make sure I log it. Think of it as more of a day to give yourself a break from food guilt, and not a day to just eat whatever you can stuff in your face.

swimming and biking, water aerobics in chest deep water. Also, weight loss is 80% about diet. You don't have to exercise to lose weight, it just helps it speed it along.

If it is too big, get rid of it. If you always have something that fits, if you get fat again, you wont realize it. Don't let yourself have a safety net. It is better to have a week of feeling like a busted can of biscuits, than wake up one month and discover you've gained ten pounds.

For 2 pounds (really 1.5 because 2 pounds would be 1000)- this. it is important to accurately enter your exercise calories though. I would recommend a fitbit or something that tracks your movement throughout the day. I usually average about 1600 total on exercise days, which is about the same as TDEE-20%. If you eat back…

Weigh and measure everything you eat, and log it no matter how horrible it is or how badly you blow it. Half the battle is just learning what a portion is, and figuring out how to make better choices. Also, log your food before you eat it! This is a game changer. You can't expect to make better decisions if you wait until…

I use a fitbit and let it sync. Fitbit burn is about half of the MFP calories.

The problem with the BMI chart is that is doesn't take into account for muscle mass and frame size. This is why I am just shooting for the tip of my healthy BMI (just to pick a starting goal) and from there I will focus on inches and body fat %. I too have giant knockers, and if I was 125 pounds, I would fall over.
-
Once you are feeling better, add about 100 calories every day until you are back at your goal. That way your body can adjust slowly.
-
make sure you eat back your exercise calories. Look for places where you are wasting calories...skim milk vs 2%, 1 ounce of sliced cheese vs 1 ounce of grated (grated goes further). make sure you are actually eating a serving. A friend of mine was always over estimating what she ate when it came to peanut butter. She…

I freeze beats, spinach, strawberries, and half a banana and then make a smoothie. Freezing helps break down the cell walls so you don't have to cook them first. Kale, carrot, apple, banana is also good. You can puree broccoli and carrots and add it to marinara sauce, or make soup out of it. Spinach is pretty much…

you wont gain muscle unless you eat enough calories. If you have your goals set to gain weight, you should eat your goal. If you aren't meeting your goals, then you need to eat higher calorie foods. Also, in order to gain muscle, you need to eat protein.
-
Low fat chocolate milk is supposed to be a great recovery drink because of the balance of carbs and protein. I just don't like to keep chocolate milk in the house because I will drink it at other times as well.
-
if the sugars and carbs are coming from fruits and veg, I don't worry about going over on those numbers. When you only get 1200 a day, you really have to eat clean to hit your goals. My life consists of a lot of egg whites. To the person that said 1200 isn't enough, for some people it is enough. Just because your TDEE is…

I hate these posts. You never know what someone considers fitting. I see people posting my same weight and height, and some have larger and some have smaller sizes. That being said, I am 5'3 and 189...I have 10's- 16's in my closet.

if you live in a celiac household, but don't need to be gluten free, try not to eat to many of the gluten free products. They are pretty nutritionally void, and wont help your weight loss.
-
you still end up with the same weight loss goal per week. 3500 calories in a pound, so you can divide that number over 7 days any way you like it. Personally, if I only ate 400 calories in a day I would murder everyone around me. Also, weight watchers is calorie controlled. They have just figured out a system to translate…

the brownie one isn't bad...but I don't really love the texture of any of the Quest Bars.
-
I laughed. That sucks...
-
there is no protein in that, so he could have lost a good amount of muscle mass.
-
7 of anything is a bad idea. Next time if you are super hungry, reach for protein. 2 Tbsp of peanut butter on that first banana would have probably helped you skip the next few bananas. That being said, just move on. Next time log your calories as you eat them and you wont get such a punch to the gut.
-
I do not get that specific in my diary. I just get as close as possible. Size matters though. A small banana and a large banana have a big calories difference...same with a russet potato and a red potato.
-
I just tried the calculator too, and it said I didn't fit in with their shapes either...although my waist is 10 inches smaller than my bust and hips which I am pretty sure= hourglass.

Celiac Disease is genetic, so if you have family members who have it, you could have it too. However, to be tested for it, you have to have gluten in your diet for the antibodies to be present. If you just want to experiment, I would eat normally and keep a very detailed food diary about how you feel physically and…

Yes. However, if your diet is made up of bad foods on a regular occasion, your loss may be slower than someone who eats clean most of the time. You also might develop other health problems. But yes, if you have the calories, eat a snickers.
-
how far are you going? you need to be entering it in as "X mph for 30 minutes". That does seem high, so I might eat back about 75%. If you plan on doing a lot of walking, I would invest in some sort of tracking device.
-
yes it counts. Just log it as walking at 2.5 miles and hour.
-
go to settings>goals> and look at your estimated daily burn. Memorize that number. Always eat less than it and you won't gain weight. Depending on where you are between 1200 and that number and how much your exercise, you will lose weight faster or slower. Also, remember 3500 calories = 1 pound. So, every time you eat 3500…

Vega has a lot of protein, but a lot of shake mixes contain more protein...specifically recover shakes. However, the more proteins, the higher the calories. I guess juicing is great if you are vitamin deficient, but you lose all of the filling fiber and they aren't shelf stable, so you cant make a large batch in advance.…

technically, they are GF. Their protein structure is differently enough from that of wheat, rye and barely so that it doesn't cause the same reaction. There is a bigger cross contamination risk, so you should eat oats that say they are GF. Bob's red mill is pretty readily available, although I eat quaker all the time and I…
