EM2WL is definitely a slower process than the VLCD thing, but it is *sustainable*. It is a lifestyle without deprivation and one that allows you to live a normal life without starving. Try to gather like-minded friends and don't surround yourself with those eating 1200 calories a day or less. Not only will it be hard to…

Feel free to add me as well... Personally, I climbed up to TDEE slowly by adding about 100 calories a day each week until I finally got there. (I was feeling bloated and uncomfortable, and that seemed to minimize those symptoms...) It definitely prolongs the process doing it that way, but for me it was easier (both…

Truly amazing progress! I also discovered lifting at the age of 50, and will never stop - it is truly empowering!! Congrats on an awesome job well done!!

What did you end up adjusting your METS to? I have never changed mine from that default 3 - 6 either...

No, you do not want to set your calories to 1634 (which is your BMR). Depending on your dieting history you want to eat anywhere between your TDEE 2,246 (if you need to do a reset) down to a 15% cut which would be 1,909. EM2WL does not recommend more that a 15% cut off of TDEE. What has your dieting history been?

Yep, there is lots of valuable info in those threads and so much knowledge to be gained :-)

I eat anywhere from 2,000 to 2,300 - feel free to add me (although, like Noor, I don't comment on diaries unless asked to - otherwise MFP would have to be a full time job! :-)

Wow, that's a lot of exercise! What activity level did you pick, because 2300 sound low for that much activity... Since you have not been consistently under-eating you could probably just go right to cut, but remember, EM2WL does not recommend more than a 15% cut. Also, remember to take a TDEE "diet break" every couple of…

When you figure out your TDEE, your exercise is already in there. Why is it that you are subtracting 500 calories from your cut number? I am not sure I understand that... If you are not doing a reset and just going right to cut, then you will want to go up to that 2.034 figure --- no need to cut any additional calories.…

Personally, I also experience a lot of anxiety and stress when I get too wrapped up in the numbers. I find myself stressing over calories burned and how many calories are in each and every thing I eat. Remember, stress of any kind will stop weight loss in its tracks! I found that I had the most success when I stopped…

With your FitBit burns between 2400 and 2700 a day, can you run a weekly or monthly average? I have a BodyMedia Fit, and can run reports averaging my burns over time. If you can do that, run a report for the last month, get an average daily burn over that time and go with that number and just keep it consistent. My burns…
