If you don't mind an old girl (40) you can add me - been overweight since I was 11, now a UK size 16 for the first time since I was 16!, I've lost 15 lbs in 8 weeks, will never tell you what to do, only what works for me, oh and lots of cheering you on.

I'm quite happy to say what I have lost, but not what I weigh - I am happy however, to say what dress size I was and what size I am now.
-
I'm on 1200, so feel free to friend me so you can see what it looks like for me, but I won't be staying on it for ever! When I am 80% there, I will start gradually increasing, accepting that I will lose slower. Look, you will find a million opinions on here, not all of them constructive. The only consistently good advice…

You can add me as a friend if you like - I already have two friends on here who I email once a week with at least one success and one thing I've found hard and we look after each other. Happy to do the same for you.

Its just breakfast I'm bored with - the rest of the time, there are so many options and so much food I'm begging for mercy. Practically, the Banana. PB and tortilla thing works, the make-ahead and overnight works, eggy wraps -taking some time to work out whether physically possible without being late for work. Thanks for…

Thanks hon, will try, and feed back

Ting! Light bulb moment, thanks Lemurcat

the "have" in inverted commas - and the "?..." In the view of most UK people, that would be the height of sarcasm. Perhaps a more open style of questioning in future.
-
Well done hon. Its all good stuff
-
I have no issue with going over slightly - up to 230ish is fine. 200 is my average, rule of thumb thingy to keep us on track.
-
Had never encountered overnight oats before - do we simply just soak them in yogurt overnight, or is there something complicated to be done?
-
Thanks Amitysk - We already pre-prep lunch and dinner the night before, so adding breakfast would not be hard. Will give it a go.
-
thanks so much - that's the kind of support I'm after!
-
sounds yum - Anybody know about getting egg beaters in the UK?
-
thanks Aliuu - I suppose I could just make them like a pancake - we don't have a waffle iron.
-
Sound good - we love peanut butter and chocolate spread, we have been avoiding them like the plague because we are afraid we may lose self control, but now may be the time.
-
I walk 2-4 miles 5 days a week
-
Looks lovely - I could do 250 cals for brekkie on days that are salad heavy - some days I have trouble using my calories up. Bagel Thins are hard to get in the UK, but I'm sure I can adapt thank you for your support
-
I have been on Fitness Pal for quite a long time, lurking, observing, and thinking myself lucky for the support I have. For those of you who have given me genuinely warm, supportive, intelligent responses (the vast majority of you), thank you very much, I will do further research, consider, experiment and feed back. For…

I do this because it works - 1.5 lost every week, almost without fail. And I didn't ask for criticism, I asked for support.

Do as much cooking from scratch as you can - as well as helping you keep your calories under control, all that chopping, stirring and (hand) whisking is a good basic workout. We also walk as much as we can, as part of our normal day - apparently my bum is much more toned now.
-
Because we do 200 cals for breakfast, 200 for lunch, 400 for dinner and 4 100 cal snacks - in theory I would be having a snack around 10.30, but I am normally in a meeting or lecture, and it wouldn't be appropriate to break out a snack. We have been fine, until this week, when its all gone a bit tits up - starving and…

it is unquestionably harder to shift those last few pounds. Ultimately you are still losing, so that is good. You could try changing the combos you eat, changing your exercise forms, having a cheat day to trick your metabolism into a spike, they may work, but ultimately, it might just be slow. I figure anything downwards…

Ah, now we know you are Scottish, we will be able to read when your tongue is firmly in your cheek! I've been thinking about you/this situation, cos I don't want you to feel jumped on, and I think there are lots of little bits you could take on board here - yes eat more, but keep it really healthy, yes do some exercise, I…

Don't panic, just keep researching, learning, experimenting. We (I hope) are not being critical, even if it feels that way, we are trying to be supportive, and hey, why make a new mistake when you can avoid one of mine? Poke around My Fitness Pal as much as you can - just the way its set up gives you loads of clues as to…

There's a difference between unsupportive and genuine need. The unsupportive people in my life are history. The one who would love to support me, but genuinely has a metabolic issue which means he has to fight being underweight - him, I'll put myself out for. Even then, I don't cook a totally different meal, I just add…

There are all sorts of apps that will help you work out how many calories you need to lose a set amount each week - including this one. No guy of your height should be on less than about 1500 a day, your body will just "grab" what it can, you could even gain (weird, but true, I have experienced it. We all want to lose…

For us, eating healthy has meant lowering wheat and red meat radically, and increasing veggies, particularly veggie wraps, meals with rice as a base etc. On the rare occasions we eat pasta we make our own from scratch - probably not useful with your shift pattern. We also try to eat very little and very often - friend me…

Kent here - log off and on all day every day. Feel free to add

I envangelise about my weightloss unashamedly, and gloat horribly about the things I can now do that I couldn't a while ago, and they still can't, all disguised as loving concern for my Dad's diabetes and my Mum's high blood pressure. I also hold on to the fact that my partner is losing too, which means (fingers crossed)…
