  • Sounds great. I will participate in this challenge. My goal is 100 oz a day!
  • I tend to eat the same meals every day so I just copy previous meals for the most part. I also find this the easiest tracker since it has the barcode scanner on the iphone. I think adding new foods is the most difficult. But with that ability it is so much easier and quick. Plus the food database is extensive which is…

  • I hover around 1500 calories. My metabolism is very slow for some reason. If I eat more than 1600 I don't lose anything....if I eat closer to 1800 I actually gain. Even though I am 335 lbs. Its just the way my body is I guess. Right now 1500-1600 is working for me. I am trying for 2 lbs a week.
  • Thanks :) I will check it out. Katwj- I will need to look at chair yoga too...or water yoga! I bet I would be way more flexible in water...since part of the problem I have is the gravity and weight weighing me down!

  • All of Dan Brown's books are great. I also love the Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. Anything by Umberto Eco is good. I also like anything by Raymond Khoury. Clearly I am drawn more to the occult/historical-religious-fiction books. Anything with templars is great. For fast fun reads I like the In Death series by J.D.…
  • All of these posts are so helpful. I am looking up the DVDs, links and and articles that everyone has posted. I think that I just needed to find something more geared to my level and didn't know that the modified moves were actually out there. I wish we had a class or instructor that was able to work with bigger girls. For…

  • I think that may be the key...working towards it actually becoming peaceful and easier. I am guessing if i don't keep trying I will never build up my strength, endurance and flexibility. So I may as well struggle through it for now. I have heard that pilates may be a good thing to start also. So I may look into that. I…

  • Thanks that is very helpful. Maybe I will look into pilates now that you talk about it. I have the same problems that you did when started...so maybe i just need to keep trying until I increase my strength and flexibility. But perhaps for now I will do something other than yoga.

  • Thanks! I didn't even think of using blocks! That would make a lot of the poses infinitely easier in my mind. I have 0 flexibility...actually I probably have negative 20 flexibility. And not sure I could even hold a downward dog pose. So I think that the blocks provide a great alternative! Thank you!

  • Here is my favorite quote that helps keep me motivated: "I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do." ~ Leonardo da Vinci.

  • Hello I am Estee. I am new to myfitnesspal. I started at 360 before joining the site and am currently at 345. I want to get down to 155 ideally. I have been overweight for my entire life and am looking forward to taking control of my life, my weight and learning to live a healthy life.
  • You do spend a lot of time studying for the bar. But I treated it like a full time job. I was up at 7:00 to 8:00 AM and started studying. I would take a small 5 min break when i felt I needed it. Then I would have a 30 min to hour lunch. I would stop working around 5 or 6 PM. I found going to exercise before I studied or…
  • Just make sure you are making smart choices for your calories. while the occasional pizza/hamburger etc is fine..not all calories are the same. I was on weight watchers a couple years back and ate "within my points" but didn't make smart choices with those points. Ended up not feeling all that well as a result. Now I count…
