This database may not list steamed as a cooking method, but it will be very close using stewed or something similar. https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list

I agree, I've done it that way also and it works fine for me.

I agree, especially the first three items. Grabbing a boiled egg from the fridge when you're hungry, can prevent eating something that you wish you hadn't ;)

Sunday morning breakfast made with leftover baked beans, fried eggs and possibly bacon, was common in my house. Makes a great meal ( ex Bostonian ) ;)

Keep it and use it. It's a very useful addition to any kitchen. Just Google Instant Pot and you'll find hundreds of recipes.

If you like boneless pork chops you may want to buy the entire boneless loin, both Costco and Sam's Club have these available. The cost per pound is less and you can cut the chops into any thickness that you prefer.

Once per week, Monday mornings.

I love coffee ice cream, but I agree most of them just aren't that good. Up until a couple of years ago Starbucks had a coffee ice cream that was available in the supermarkets, it was fantastic. It was priced just a little more than the other premium brands, but evidently it didn't sell that well and was discontinued.

Use a food scale, weigh and measure everything.

Peanut butter, right out of the jar, by the spoonful. Also whole wheat toast, buttered (not margarine) and then covered with a generous amount of PB. P.S. I no longer keep peanut butter in my house ;)

For foods I eat frequently I just save them to "my foods" and don't share them with the database. That way I know they are correct. [/quote] Excellent idea. After all most of us eat the same foods frequently. The main database has thousands of entries, sadly there are many, many incorrect ones.

Inexpensive spray bottles available at Walmart and most dollar stores, work great for dispensing very small quantities of oil. A single small spray is all that usually needed for many cooking tasks. Simply fill the spray bottle with canola or any other mild tasting oil. Works nearly as well as Pam and costs just pennies.…

If you're serious, make a doctors appointment and get a prescription for Chantix. It works!

Great job!

Me too!

My motivation is very simple..when I step on the scale every Monday morning and the number is less (hopefully) than the previous Monday, that's all the motivation I need to keep on going.

Awesome job!

Peanut butter, banana and bacon does sound yummy!

Same here.

If you are serious about quitting, make an appointment with your doctor and get a prescription for Chantix. It works.

Got me wrong too.

You're doing a great job, stay with it!!

You will get two different answers to your question. Cooked and uncooked weight, I prefer to weigh all my food after it's been cooked, this method has worked great for me, I've lost about 35 pounds thus far.
