I prefer to rest if I'm feeling sick - sleep & liquids are the magic combo to get me feeling better. But it should be ok as long as you're not going to a gym or anything to spread germs, & keep it low impact. Stretching would probably be a really good thing.

I just discovered these awesome ice cream sandwich bars. The brand is "So Delicious" & they are coconut milk vanilla ice cream sandwiches. Only 100 cals, no artificial sweeteners & even has protein, fiber & iron!

This is very true. But a lot of people on here will be fine if you eat 1250 calories & pissed off at you if you eat 1150 lol.

I used to count 1 day as the time I'm awake, but since using MFP a month ago I do it for the next day after midnight. I eat more at night anyway & usually sleep like 4am-11am. Since MFP already has breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks broken up, I kinda have my day go something like... Breakfast noon - 4, Lunch 4-8, Dinner…

I'm 99.99% sure MFP guesstimates my BMR too high too. At least by 100-200cals. I'm studying to get a few licenses in health & nutrition & hoping some of this BMR / TDEE business is more like a guideline, cuz as times it can piss me off lol.

I've been thinking about trying this out. I've been doing really good with my diet & new exercising plan, but I always like to try new things. I work out 5 days a week (though I'm aiming for 6) & was thinking of the 5:2 or liquid diet on the 2 days I don't work out, but I don't have my days set so I wouldn't know when they…

Wow. I would have told him "This IS real food. You've just been eating man-made chemical crap for so long you don't know the real thing when it's right in front of your face!" Don't like my food? Don't eat it! You're supposed to be a grown man, so quit your temper-tantrum, man up & make your own meals then. Then I'd go…

Threads like this always have the same things in them... "I drink 4 sodas every day & it hasn't affected my weight loss!' "I have Mc Donald's for breakfast every morning & I lost weight!" "I don't exercise at all & lost 50 pounds last year!" Well good for you. Rock on with your chemical sugar formaldehyde burger lazy self.

There have been lots of studies showing a connection with artificial sweeteners - particularly aspartame & sucralose (the 2 most common used artificial sweeteners in diet drinks) - & weight gain, both in animals & humans. I particularly don't even want to touch aspartame with a 10 foot pole. There are other healthier…

I did squats & arms after I did Insanity today! Back is aching right now... Daily challenge for Thursday February 7th: Drink your 8 cups of water! (This is actually going to be pretty hard for me.)

This is my biggest obstacle. Sometimes I have to ask my MFP friends to virtually poke me with a cattle prod to get me off my @$$. But I eventually get up & do it 5 out of my 6 goal days a week.
-
I like to eat at night/ before bed. Just plan for your day that way & spread out your calories.

Coke Zero has aspartame.

I'd get more upset with myself if I had something that contained aspartame or sucralose than I would if I ate pizza or french fries. If you're looking for something carbonated & sweet, maybe try carbonated juices with no added sweeteners? Pomegranate & clementine are a couple of my favs I used to get at Trader Joes all the…

The length & severity differs from person to person. There really isn't much you can do to change it without being on medication / hormones. When I was on the pill I'd skip 1 pill out of the week & then have 3 pills for the last week trying to make my period shorter. I've been on NuvaRing for a few years & there's enough…

^ Echoing the sodium comment. The 1st time I gained weight in 2006 I started eating Lean Cuisines. Those & Slim Fast Shakes .Then I started learning about food & nutrition & stopped consuming both, and then I finally started losing weight.

Like you mentioned, it's not uncommon for people to have difficulty sleeping if they exercise, especially later at night. Even though you do in the morning, your body is probably still energetic more throughout the day than you're used to. You're doing better things so it so it's happy! It wants to keep being happy & stay…

Do you drink soda or coffee?

It is really easy to get confused by eating habits or diets because there really are a million different ways how to do things, & one method isn't necessarily better than the other. Let's try & simplify based on the info you gave... You have one thing telling you to eat between 1200 - 1800. You already know you are too…

Hmm, interesting. I'm going to look more into this. (I've been studying fitness & nutrition for awhile, but thinking of specializing more in psychological/ mood disorders & drugs in relation to these type of health issues.)

You know what keeps me going until lunch? Having a decent amount of sleep the night before.

I'm sorry, you lost me at vodka... The salad looks good though!

I'm one of those people that can't go to sleep hungry, so I plan my day accordingly. However if I'm in PJs getting into bed & still want to munch on something (like I am right now actually) there's quite a few options I have that are all under 140 calories: Some of my go-tos: hard boiled egg (70cals), yogurt (<140cals),…

If I go over in things like sugars or carbs I don't really mind much, because 95% of the time I know I'm getting it from healthy sources. I like using my food log to see patterns & find what I'm low in or need to eat more of. For example if I'm halfway through my day or wondering what to eat for dinner & notice I'm low in…

Ugh... >.< :noway: And every time someone preaches #4 makes me want to punch them in the face.

I don't believe in forcing yourself to eat when you're not hungry, same as I don't believe someone should starve if they are hungry. If for some reason you're not able to eat within a reasonable calorie amount, find out if there is any medical problem you could be having that is making this situation for you, so that you…

I've been 5'2" since I was 12 and was a professional dancer & taught dance when I grew up... Pretty much always weighed between 105-115. A couple of times I did break the 100 mark, but I ended up being really sick both times & I would be really scared if that ever happened again. My goal weight is to get back down to 109,…

You are not going to force your body into "survival mode" or jeopardize your metabolism by eating 2,300 calories a day. Edit: Unless you were training 10hours a day for the Olympics or something. Those people definitely need more.
-
I'm gonna go with they heard people saying that on this forum... It's one of the robotic statements that have driven me nuts hearing since I've been on this board this past month. People say that because they don't want people to starve themselves on here. But if your BMR is somehow 2,500, you're not going to die by eating…

I don't really talk about it but if it gets brought up I don't hide it... Well normally anyway. I guess depending on the severity. For example, I wouldn't want my mom to worry about me or something. Someone asked what people consider a binge, like how many calories. I kinda laughed to myself: The last thing I'd be doing is…
