I don't even get up until 11am & I've never been the kind of person that's hungry when they wake up. About 6 years ago I tried the whole "eat when you wake up to boost your metabolism" thing for 6 months & I ended up gaining weight. I'm not going to eat when I'm not hungry. I already have a healthy appetite to begin with.

I was only on Celexa for a week or 2 once (didn't work for me) but I had been on various anti-depressants & anxiety medications over the years. (Finally got myself off xanax last year, & even though I still have anxiety it's mostly manageable with changes I made.) It is a possible side effect when you go on stuff like…

Thank you!

^ That method doesn't work for everyone. It doesn't work for me.

Not necessarily. Do you know what your % of calories is protein? Depending on what your needs are, 20-30% is usually good. Some people do 15%. Mine was low too, but I upped it to 25% a little over a week ago & I'm less hungry (which was a good thing for me.)

Yeah I don't eat "breakfast" until like 2pm lol
-
I like making breakfast easy, so an easy one is Ezekiel cereal with rice milk for me. Sometimes a couple eggs with reduced fat mozzarella cheese & tomatoes. I don't like onions, peppers, or mushrooms, but a lot of people throw them in with eggs too.

I have an elliptical stepper. I like using ellipticals because it's easier on my knees. I have it in my room so I can periodically use it throughout the day or during commercials or something. Hop on for 5 mins & burn 50 cals each time.

I gained a size & 1/2 when I gained weight. (34c to 36D+) They were fun while they lasted, but I'd rather look & feel better overall.

You might not be drinking enough water & you also might be working out harder than you think you are. I started working out a couple of weeks ago after not being very active for a couple years, when I used to be very active all growing up. I didn't realize some of the side effects that can happen in that situation. Part of…

I stopped drinking coffee (& energy drinks) a couple of years ago when I was trying to better manage my anxiety disorder & other health issues naturally. I used to be a caramel frap & Redbull or Monster every day kinda girl. Being in better health was a good trade off. Edit: To be completely fair, I do occasionally have…

Haha... I used to think that every January & February. Just gotta hold out!

^ Yes. I did ballet for 20 years & never had a thigh gap. I also always had a butt, even at 100lbs. My body is just that way. Not everyone's body is made to be a certain way.
-
In regards to the low BMI you're trying to achieve... The only time I've had the type of body you are trying to achieve (in a healthy manner) is when I was dancing 20 hours a week (I trained & taught dance) & under the age of 22. So unless you're young & training hardcore, you might want to look at a more healthy realistic…

I do a day "cleanse" every once in awhile, like once or twice a month when I feel like it, or when I'm getting sick. I usually just drink a lot of liquids like water & organic juice & tea.

I was tested for thyroid & it came out negative, as I mentioned. It also didn't matter if I ate 1,000 calories or 2,000 calories - I wasn't losing any weight. Maybe there is something wrong with me but county healthcare medical doctors couldn't help. I'm just saying that it's not all black & white with every single person…

I just wanted to say I sympathize with the OP. I was logging (I used LoseIt! for a couple years) & eating 1,000-1,200 cals/ day & was 40+lbs over my norm. Doctors told me to eat less, I would eat <1,000, then they told me to eat less, like 800. I can't starve myself or be anorexic if I wanted to, but I also don't eat crap…

I hate making blanket type statements but aspartame is one of the worst things you can put into your body. If you're continuously improving as you say you are, maybe just make a goal to get a little better over time by just having it occasionally. It's about being healthy too, not just losing pounds.
-
I can understand where you're coming from. I'm looking forward to exercising more & eating more cheese than I have the past 2 weeks haha :) (My thing says I joined in 2010 but I didn't start MFP til a couple weeks ago.)
-
I usually eat back around half my calories when I work out, not because I make myself eat, but because I'm hungry. My deficit is pretty low already. Say I go with 1,200 cals. If I work out & burn 450 calories, having a net of 750 is pretty low. Another good analogy: When you sweat, you get thirsty right? You're working &…

Do what motivates you - you'll work out better, longer, & more often, which ultimately translates to better results.

Ok so it's normal to feel that way if you're training hard & your body isn't used to it yet? Thank you guys I feel better. :)

Finally lost my 1st lb...

Wow... I finally just lost my 1st lb after 2 weeks. I'm doing Insanity too.

Anyone?

Actually, yes. Human carnivores are much more likely to develop cancer. Human carnivores also do not hunt their food, eat 100% organic GMO-free meat all the time, or have anywhere near the amount of enzyme in their stomach that is responsible to break down meat as those tigers, lions, & bears do. There's a million reasons…

Sorry, but your Dr is an idiot. No, I'm not a doctor, but I've been around enough poor doctors' advice to know when not to take it. I'm mostly vegetarian with few exceptions. I stopped drinking milk in 2006. The few animal products I do eat on occasion I eat because I know they are healthy & pack good nutrients. Cottage…

I have to catch myself sometimes when I read about food or look at pictures of food (you should see my Pinterest boards lol) for too long. It's a mind game. Have to find the balance between my desire to learn about nutrition & the same time not breaking & doing a binge/ purge.

Actually, the OP said "no one should eat below 1200." </being a smart a**>
