Seroquel itself doesn't make you fat. It makes you crave sugar in large amounts, which is hard to resist, so this is why people gain weight on seroquel.

Speaking from experience and professionally, exercise is a HUGE antidepressant. You are correct though, for somepeople who can't even get out of bed, speak, eat, or function in any way...exercise isn't going to happen. The caveat is that depression largely affects motivation, so to get motivated enough to exercise is a…

I agree with the above statement. There is still so much stigma attached to depression, and to all mental illnesses for that matter. Depression is an ILLNESS, just like diabetes, or cancer, or lupus. Many people need medication to function, and this doesn't just magically go away...the diease is usually chronic and present…

Citalopram has an anti-anxiety agent in it, along with the antidepressant component. That's probably why you felt so sleepy on the higher dose. I'm glad to see your doc dropped the dose back to what works for you. You should feel calm and less anxious, but not about to fall asleep and so sluggish that it's hard to…

It's not quite this simple. Actually, YES, antidepressants, as well as some medications for biploar illness, and some anti-psychotic medication, can and do cause people to gain weight, sometimes a lot of weight, like 40-60 pounds. It's no fault of the person taking the medication. Usually it's the lesser of two evils-take…

Yes, they can prevent you from losing weight. Consult with your doctor, there may be a better option for you.

I am a counsellor in private practice, and have been working in this field for 12 years. As well, I"ve been on/off antidepressants for years. So, I've been around a lot of people on a lot of different antidepressants. I'm glad to hear that your experience on antidepressants didn't case you weight gain. Hopefully, you had…

I will say that guys SUCK! My husband just went on them about 6 months ago and didn't gain one pound! He eats fast food like no other and even had chocolate iced donuts for breakfast yesterday and doesn't gain anything.... Whatever. [/quote] I know, and then when they go to lose weight, they lose a lot, and they do it…

Mine is 91. Woo hoo! Thanks for sharing that, much appreciated. It's nice that it's Canadian too...even if it is based only on Ontario. Nice to have stats close to home. Cheers!:flowerforyou:

I'm a therapist and I specialise in working with eating disorders, so I want to congratulate you on your recovery and wish you continued success. I know it's an ongoing struggle, and probably one of the hardest challenges you'll ever face. And by the way, you have an extraordinarily beautiful smile...especially because it…

I have one and I love it... Only thing though is that it's never tracked my sleep. I wear it most nights and it never shows up. However, I love knowing exactly how many calories I burned during a workout, how many steps I took in a day, and how many calories I burned in a day. Overall, it's a good investment!

I think many people do it (I have done it) and I think it's a great example of how very funny humans can be... We join a website to track what we're putting in our mouths, and the vast majority of us are doing this in order to lose weight and gain the benefits of a healthier lifestyle. So really, we are doing it for…

Yes, they are, and yes, it is OK!

When I see "boobie" pics, I don't think it's so much about trying to showcase the boobs. I think a lot of people here and working hard on their bodies, and happen to take pics of themselves not wearing much, or, in their workout clothes. Some of these clothes may seem revealing, but I just think it's about showcasing the…

I agree with you! Plus, hasn't she had plastic surgery? And maybe surgery to help with her body shape? That's not what I thought the magazine was about, either.

I'm out. I feel like I'm trying to communicate with a 4-year-old.
-
OMG, are you EVER going to let this go? What is wrong with you?
-
I love your tattoo. I too, believe the tattoo a person wears should reflect something about that person, in any way. Thanks also for your courage in sharing what was a traumatic and horrifying experience. I'm so sorry you had to go through that, and then go through court that many times. You are a true fighter and…

Right on!

THANK YOU!

YOU are awesome! So very well said, thank you! And you have class...you made your point without calling anyone names or disrespecting their opinion. You rock, sister! Johnsonium and 10ancity could take a cue from you...
-
Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to explain. That's so silly!
-
So his opinion is valid, but we are whiny b&*^&s for expressing ours? Isn't that a double standard? Talk about 'snap judgments'... And BTW, I DID read the posts...What's your point?
-
I agree, I wish MFP had a spellcheck! It's so painful to read!
-
Me too...I have a HIGH IQ and three degrees...including a master's...Had no idea my tattoo made me stupid! Good to know!
-
Thanks for answering, sweetie!
-
First, I completely agree with you, well said! (I am referring to the second post that points out that not all tattoos are trendy and should be respected. Right on!) Also, thanks for clearing up for me what a "tramp stamp" is.
-
I have a question though... What is a 'tramp stamp'? I keep reading that here, and don't know what it is! Thanks to anyone who can tell me what this is....I'm guessing, though, based on what I've read, that it's a tattoo on the lower back...is this right?
-
YES! Why not? I got a tat of a maple leaf, in 1990. It was NOT popular to do so, yet, and my mom almost had a hernia! When I lose my weight, I am going to reward myself with a tattoo of my daughter's name-it's something I've wanted since she was born, almost seven years ago! I think it's a great goal to have and can't wait.
