I still do dairy, but I wanted to weigh in anyway :) I really like vanilla unsweetened almond milk. Also have you ever tried hazelnut milk? It's really neat! Add some cocoa and maybe a little sweetener and you have yourself a really cool hot chocolate!

oh and about fruits, I do sort of pay attention to them, but honestly I rarely want to eat more than one piece of fruit a day. I do watch out for bananas just because they tend to be pretty carb heavy and I do love them so. I try to keep it to one or two a week.

In terms of calories, I feel mfp is pretty low, mostly because it doesn't really account for exercise unless you're putting it in. I've recently discovered frozen veggies. There are these steamfresh bags (not the ones with sauce!) that you can stick directly in the the microwave. Yup you always want to net above your BMR because that is what is required for you to function, if you go below that in theory you start eating your own muscle because your body is so hungry. If you just shoot to eat your TDEE everyday you should be good. When you do exercise, check out your net number make sure it's above…
