The simple answer is because some people are private. With the codes you have the option of giving it out to certain people. I see the interest in seeing what someone successful is eating. And I'm guessing there have to be many here that are proud of what they choose so they post it to all. It just depends on the person.

It can be done! I have a 10 year old, 6 year old and 2 year old. And we home school.

Let's just say at this point I log my food as soon as I eat it. Not everyone is that way but it's just something I try to follow as a rule. People seem to have all kinds of healthy ideas for eating as well as exercising so i'm sure you'll find good stuff there. The website helps you keep track of it all. Myself? I was more…

I try to spread them out as evenly as I can but sometimes I'm just hungrier than others due to exercise. The way this My Fitness Pal seems to work is it adds all my workout calories to my daily total allowable. So, say I have a goal of 1500 calories but burned 785 calories during exercise today. It then says I can eat…

Keep up the great work and attitude. Your goals are just that. Your goals. Deep down inside we all know what's right for us. And it's not necessarily what someone else might recommend. :) Teaching kids at an early age how to eat better is priceless. And at the very least they should at least know how to control calories…

People talk about loving cereal. I don't LOVE cold breakfast. I love a breakfast taco with salsa to be exact. Warm breakfast is best. But I do LOVE sandwiches. They're so flavorful once I add red onion, green leaf lettuce, tomato, spicy brown mustard and the tiniest bit of miracle whip. If I'm at a sub shop I go for fat…

We have one. My wife uses it semi-regularly. I used it quite a bit at first until we got our family YMCA membership. Now I do 99.99% at the gym on the elliptical cross-trainer cause I can burn a lot more calories. I'm pretty sure that what I see for totals for exercise on My Fitness Pal are not correct though for Wii or…

I tend to eat either Cheerios or Rice Chex lately. And I'm not overly happy with them. I didn't care for raisin bran very much after all these years either. There are a few choices on the list I'd like to try like the Kashi cereals.

Someone actually spoke to me at the Y a week or so ago. I was doing my regular hour on the elliptical cross-trainer as fast as I could go (ramp = 4, resistance = 1) He actually stopped me on the way through the hall and asked me how many calories I was burning. I said about 750 each workout. He said "Wow, you're really…

It's a lifestyle change if you want it to be long term. And it's probably good to have times where you do allow yourself whatever it is you really want. So, I agree with that sentiment. However, I was able to change the way I thought about food so that now certain items I'd never even consider. And it won't bother me a…

I do love the Vlasic Dill spears. YUM! Okay, I can't wait until tomorrow now. They are almost zero calories anyway. :)

Anything that you can see the nutritional information on either in their store or on a website is considerable as long as you consider it healthy to eat it. A person doesn't want to eat a hamburger daily because it's probably higher in fat (even if lean meat is used) than other choices like a sandwich. However, I don't ban…

Off the top of my head...Blue Diamond Almonds (whole natural). I keep a bag of those handy. It holds 1 lb. And it's lasting quite awhile actually. I love cashews but it's one of those things you can only have a very small amount of calorie/fat wise. But I do love cashews too. And lightly salted peanuts. Gotta keep the…

Wow! Avalanche! Ask a question and ......! I think everyone is doing a great job of staying focused on the question. I've also noticed that all the correct answers were given before I even had a chance to post so my work is done! I'd have the Heebegebee's a bit too going to the school but I think you'll get over that soon…

Btw, they add words like "jr." to foods that are a normal serving size to discourage you from buying those "pipsqueak" burgers. But in fact, in the 60's and 70's this was the normal serving size. If and when I do order, I order from the kids menu. :D I don't mind. Much easier than ordering Diet Coke when you're very…

Double Quarter pounder with cheese alone is 740 calories. YIPES!!! Whataburger Jr. is 300 calories.

Great calculator!! Thanks!!! That's funny. I get 2,030 before I even add a shake. I never have ate at places like McDonald's since I was a kid. I suppose I was hooked back then but it's kind've gross now. Any of those places: Wendy's, Burger King, etc. I stay away from them for two reasons: Massive calories beyond your…

Once you drop below 1200 calories your body goes into starvation mode and won't drop the weight on purpose. Keep it at 1200 or above. I'd say 1200 to 1300. I keep mine in the 1200 - 1500 range myself. However, my wife has experienced about slightly less than 1/2 of my loss numbers in the same time frame. She sticks closer…

Thanks cdsledge09! It's good to be here. We need all the support we can get. 75 days and counting so far!! I love Delaware subs! They closed the one by my house though. They're only north of the river now. The closest one is on W. 34th Street. But I'd make a special trip for them with no problems. I'm glad to hear they're…

Excellent job! Keep up the very good work. You're not far away! It's just around the corner! I never realized how many calories were in the food I was eating until I found out about this website. I could've done this all on the computer or paper myself but this is so much easier! I am a little strange in away because I…

Walking alone can be the only exercise you ever need. Take it from me I used to walk all over this town when I was a kid and it was very easy to keep any weight off back then. But a perfect exercise is one where you kind've get your mind off what you're doing and keep it elsewhere while you're getting the much needed…

Hi everyone! I just started using My Fitness Pal on June 30th, 2010. Good luck to everyone! And keep up the good work!
