Crazy4cat- I totally hear you on the overwhelming bit. I want to lose 25 pounds and to me that seems overwhelming! I'm taking "baby steps" with my weight loss goals and taking it 5 pounds at a time. I started clean eating a month or so ago and still have backslides more than I care to admit. :) Next step, hitting the…

Morning everyone! New to this group and loving that I see so many like minded people I can turn to for advice and support! I started my clean eating with Whole30 and loved it but wanted to bring back some dairy and some sweeteners. I use organic half and half (1-2 Tbs) and pure maple syrup (1-2 Tbs) in my coffee. Being a…

You go girl! Keep it up! I used the C25K to start running and that was when you had to use their pre-recorded music to do it. Thank God they changed that up so that you can now use your own music! On my iPhone I actually have a Running playlist! =) Have fun!

Apparently the ANT+ for iPhone DOES NOT work with BodyMedia. Ugh! Guess I need to think of a Plan B. LOL

I'm considered a type 2 diabetic so I have to watch my carbs. Bread is my downfall. LOL

Hi there! I live in Vermont and this state is notorious for causing a Vit D defeciency due to lack of appropriate amounts of sunlight. LOL My doctor put me on prescription dose Vit D until my numbers are normal and then I am to take the OTC dose daily. Even though I get plenty of sunshine when the sun is shining and I eat…

I agree with this. I can burn 1000 calories on my hike, but I burn less when I run. It all depends on what I do. If my HRM wasn't somewhat accurate, I would be gaining weight not losing it. I also use Runtastic and it has me burning less calories because it doesn't have my HR to go off of (but I use those numbers even…

LOL I have to say, some of these response really made me giggle. (I mean that is a good way) I have to agree that it is pretty extreme. I would probably only TRY it if I hit a plateau and wanted to see what it would do, you know, kind of experiment. My guess is, by the end of day one, I would fall into a bag of pita chips.…

I can easliy burn 1000 calories when I'm hiking even for an hour. I also run the flat spots on the local mountain that my friends and I hike on. Mind you it's a small mountain but it's a steep little mountain in spots. LOL  I use a HRM whenever I'm up there and most times I burn over 1000 calories depending on what…

Very well said! I often say that I don't run. I slog (slow jog). LOL Running for me is at 5mph on the treadmill. You rock girl! Keep it up!

I LOVE mine! I have it linked to my MFP account and it does a fitbit caloried adjustment under then exercise section of MFP and when you manually enter exercise into MFP (if you use a HRM and know how many calories you burned) it readjusts the fitbit calorie adjustment. I have found that it has been pretty…

My two and a half year old pulls the same thing. Whining makes me crazy! Thankfully with him I just tell him that I can't understand him when he talks like that and walk away. Seems to work. He gets a firm talking to when he starts the "I want (whatever it is) RIGHT NOW!". That gets a very stern, "you DO NOT talk to Mommy…

Certain types of tachycardia do require medication to slow down. SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) can be dangerous. There are some people who's heart rates do run higher than most people. I think mine runs high (mid 80s) most days and there are some who live in the 90s and low 100s. But anything higher than that usually…

I run inside once the snow flies. The town I live in isn't the greatest about keeping the sidewalks clear and even though drivers are used to snow every year they still drive like idiots. And with my luck with snow and ice and would be on my *kitten* and falling into a passing car! LOL It's safer for everyone for me to run…

Oooh, that's good to know! I switch to treadmill running during the winter, cause winters in Vermont can be harsh and people do not pay attention to runners on the road as it is. LOL
