I would recommend trying them on in person and then ordering online if there is a great price difference. I found one or two on clearance at ****'s Sporting Goods.

Thank you for sharing.

You did good!!

You look great!!

If you don't want to use them or won't find the time to use them -- get rid of them. No sense keeping something you don't want or won't use eve if someone else thinks they are "great" It sounds like you get a pretty good workout on a daily basis just working on your farm.

I decided that I was tired of being out of shape and unhealthy. I decided to do something about it and not wait one more day or I would look back a year from now and wish I had done something. I started to look at all labels and do research. My first step was simple calorie reduction and then I started changing WHAT I ate…

I switched to tea -- some blends have caffeine some do not. I do not add sugar or milk to my tea (unless its an English style tea) because it has such a good flavor on its own. Not bitter. I am not sure I ever really liked coffee or if I just like cream and sugar. I also started taking a multi-vitamin formulated for Energy…

MFP told me to eat 1200 calories at first too. Once I did a BMR and TDEE calculation -- I increased my calories to 1500 per day and I am still averaging between 1 and 2 pounds lost per week. I do not generally eat back my exercise calories, but I will if needed. I don't exercise a terrific amount -- real modest. Eat more.

Thank you to everyone who responded. I thought it was added sugars too but then MFP tracks all sugar and caps it at 25g so I thought maybe i misunderstood. As I said, going over (when I include naturally occurring sugars like those in fruits and dairy) doesn't seem to impact my weight loss and honestly it makes my diet…

I really haven't paid it too much attention, but it does seem to tell me that I will lose on average 1 to 2 pounds per week and that is pretty much the rate I have been going so I think it is probably pretty close.

I nursed my first for 8 months. I nursed my second for 12 months. I nursed my third for 26 months. I did not have any supply problems. I did drop a good bit of weight before I got pregnant and then immediately afterward so I wasn't as heavy which tends to make my PCOS symptoms decrease. I also drank a TON of water -- more…

Why would you want to eat so little? You will still lose weight if you ate more. You are running a risk of messing up your long term success. I assume, since you are asking us, that you are not under the supervision of a doctor. Why are you eliminating sugar and wheat from your diet?
-
I eat more than 1200 calories a day, but only so I could have more crunchy (whole wheat crackers or organic tortilla chips) or sweet things (think berries and whipped cream) when I want them. If I had to stay at or under 1200 I would avoid empty food that is high in sugar and/or other simple carbs with nothing to keep you…

What great ideas!! I have been buying the Chobani flavored Greek Yogurt because it is so tasty. I bought some plain greek yogurt to try and mix with fruit and such.

Look at the food diary entries for people who have had success or are at a weight you would like to be -- you will see what people who are serious about their health eat. I would make a recommendation -- change your focus from weight loss to health. It makes things easier and more sustainable. If each choice you make you…

Good for you!!

I do not want someone (or the government) dictating my food choices for me. I am a grown up and free to make those choices on my own. That said my reading of the OP was not that she was seeking to ban the product, but rather her shock at reading the label because she is now living in a state of awareness that she did not…

I ate them last weekend. I enjoy them actually. But then again I like all veggies really.

I sit down with cookbooks and the sale flyers for the local grocery stores on Sunday. I meal plan and then grocery shop generally on Sunday. I make plans for what is on sale and then things that I can reuse in left overs. For instance I may make a grilled chicken one night and then two nights later we may have chicken…

I love Greek Yogurt. I will not eat the other type of yogurt again -- unless it was all natural and no additives.

Thank you for your input!! I think it will be trial and error to figure out what works in certain recipes. I like the idea of substituting some whole wheat flour for the regular all purpose flour to increase the fiber and overall "health" of the dish. I know some stuff is just going to stay on the slightly indulgent side…

I eat cheese on a daily basis -- I plan for it. I enjoy cheese (all types of cheese without restriction) and would not be satisfied if I had to go without the rest of my life so I make it work. I eat goat cheese crumbled on salads or home made "pizzas". I eat cheese sticks or slices off a block as a snack. I have cottage…

Growing up my grandmother used to make a Lamb Brain dish but I don't remember eating it. Now I don't think I could eat it -- knowing what it is I couldn't eat it. I have trouble eating meat on the bone because I think about what it is too much. My meat cannot look like meat or I have trouble eating it. (I know I am weird!!)

Went to Subway for dinner last Friday. If Subway doesn't count I went to Chick Fil A and had a chargrilled sandwich over Memorial Day weekend.

As hard as it is I try not to compare myself to anyone else because each of us has to figure out what works. There are some universal truths -- you will only lose weight if you eat at a deficit and exercise will help tone what is left behind. Other truths are the inability to spot reduce and the fact that there is no magic…

Thank you everyone -- I knew they looked good. I do have a Costco and a Whole Foods not to far from my house so I will look for both fresh and dried figs!! Cannot wait to try them.
-
Thank you. I think I will go to Whole Foods and see if they carry figs.

You may lose more than 1-2 pounds per week for the first two or three weeks. Then you should consume enough calories per day so that you DO NOT lose more than that. You could lose more but it is not going to be in your best long term interest to do so. It will be a more sustainable loss to go slow, plus you will be less…

You don't have to exercise to lose weight. You will look better if you do because exercise firms you up and helps make you look toned. Skinny people can be flabby looking (not all of them obviously) but as you lose its better to firm up. Enter your height, age, current weight, and sedentary lifestyle and MFP will calculate…

As long as you log it and it fits in your plan -- go for it. I couldn't follow an eating plan long term that did not permit me to enjoy foods I love. I just have less of it and I am satisfied with that option!
