  • So I completely deserved that weigh-in. I gained over 2 pounds over the last week. I know it's because 1) lack of calorie control and a binge yesterday night and 2) greatly reduced exercise. I'm going to work out now, but I"m so disappointed in myself. I wanted to weigh in the 150s for my tropical vacation next week - but…
  • I think the basic theme here is "Life Happens". I did some emotional eating myself and did not sleep well at all due to stress from work. I went back to the diet mountain dews, which was not part of my plan, but I was having such a hard time getitng up in the morning after the bad sleep. Halfway through the week, I kind of…
  • Holy Moly, WTG!!!!!
  • Okay, I'm going in the wrong direction. This weekend is going to be very exercise-focused, but I don't know if the 3600 will happen. Well, I'm glad I signed up anyway - it's good to see the effort over several days.
  • Stressful day today, probably one of the worst in a long, long time. I didn't carb binge, which in itself is a victory, but over the calorie count. And I woke up to exercise (but not enough to really make a dent in the 3600 challenge). so it had good intentions, and it didn't go just completely wrong. Hurray? :-\
  • Well, Monday was definitely a bit bust. Did better with exercise today, but still overate. Okay, tomorrow, I'm going to rock both exercise and food!
  • Heck, I had a rough Monday. But it'll push me to do better the rest of the days. :ohwell:
  • With permission from our benevolent leader, @Bumble, I've put a second sheet on our Google Doc for this challenge! Just come on every day and put down your calorie burn and how you did it! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aua8OM31RuDtdExLeENfNVdYYjdNUHFGUEIyYjRZYVE#gid=1 Have fun and let's exercise! -Darin
  • Well, your focus is rightly on not pushing your body to the limits. I know it's hard, especially since you've been working so hard, but you have to keep reminding yourself - if you don't take care and heal now, you're just going to prolong the whole thing. Sorry for the accident - but don't let it get you down!
  • Yep, @Chandra, it's time for some Mom-centric time! I'm glad you're feeling better, and can focus on you for a little bit each day. :drinker:
  • Good for you!!!! Water is good. It's all I get the rest of tonight, because I have definitely eaten all my calories for today. but I do think I'm going to be posting a loss on Sunday. I think. Will be doing a long Jillian video tomorrow and sunday in preparation. Let's do a good weekend, all!
  • When starting? I would be interested in giving it a try!
  • Day 2 of Ripped in 30. Not as discouraged as Day 1, and able to do more. Still struggling on plank pose (this is leftover from 30DS), but getting there. And of course she pulls over the one move I just can't do from 30DS - the side lunge with arm raises? I cannot do that to save my life. I think I just don't do that motion…
  • I completely understand! I think it's important to remember that Life happens. Sometimes you're going to eat too much pizza. Sometimes you're not going to make it to the gym. That's just how it is. The real challenge - Do NOT let it change your movement forward. You can't change what you've done in the past, but you CAN…
  • I finally did day 1 of Ripped in 30. You're so right, it does get a little discouraging when she keeps repeating that this is Week 1 so she's "going easy" on us, but that later it would be terrible. I do like her backup trainers, though. We'll have to see how this goes.
  • O.M.G. Anytime I hear that song I "sing" it too... which does not improve it, let me tell you!
  • "Milkshake" by Kelis. I think I win. :embarassed: *slinks away*
  • Hi, author of "Dammit, Week 3" here. I'm upping the water intake, reducing soda intake (have not been able to kick the one diet mountain dew in the morning), increasing green tea (although it's the diet lipton with citrus, mmmmmm, which may not count as real green tea). I've done walks at work both yesterday and today, and…
  • I'm going to be starting tomorrow.
  • 0.8 pounds - considering that my week was a bit not ideal, I'm feeling lucky. And I'm not leaving it to luck this week!
  • Don't give up! Real life = ups and downs. I was fighting a cold/allergies for most of the week, and there were a few nights there where I just plain overate, or got into a "mmmm... snacking mindlessly" rut. Okay, so it wasn't pretty. But giving up makes things worse! I truly believe we can do this, as long as we don't feel…
  • I'm with you on the motivation! It's been a crap week, but I got back into it (painfully) this morning. Let's do this thing!!!!
  • Yep, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! :flowerforyou:
  • Absolutely don't give up. The biggest test is how you pick yourself back up, and how you re-inspire yourself to keep going. Don't let a few days defeat you! It's not worth feeling bad about the past, especially if it actively effects how you're doing in the present and future!
  • I'm not doing so great, gang. Overeating, and drinking, to boot. Having a hard time waking up in the morning (to exercise OR go to work). I just want to wake up and work out like I mean it. I feel it NOW, but at 6 a.m. tomorrow? I need it to translate.
  • I need that. I feel much better from my cold. No more excuses!
  • Nope. Not calling anyone a liar; that's ridiculous. But I'd prefer you reference this rather than Taubes. http://content.karger.com/produktedb/produkte.asp?DOI=000331994&typ=pdf
  • FALSE. If you eat nearly zero carbs on Atkins, you can have more FLEXIBILITY on protein/fats. It is absolutely NOT TRUE that "low carb" eating allows for free protein/fats. That is a dangerous myth. Basically, if you're going to go informally low carb, then watch the calories like normal. If you're going Atkins, then do…
  • It's been quite a week. You're not alone! I'm hoping the schedule calms down so I can get back to regularly exercising. I definitely notice a drop in my energy levels now that all I'm doing is the walking...
