Jodi, I'm so sorry to hear about Jovan's health issues and hope that you and she receive a much milder diagnosis. It's amazing that you've continued your training and logging, during all of this family stuff! You are a marvel! I absolutely would keep doing what I was doing, if it was still working. I'm glad it's all…

Hey, Warrior Women! I've been enjoying my diet break! It's such a relief to just eat what I want without measuring and logging. I've still been logging exercise, but only because that's pretty easy. So far, I've lost the 3lbs I'd regained before my break:) Stephanie, that Strong Curves program sounds cool! Veronica, I'm…

Hi, Warrior Women! Just thought I'd check in and say I've been coming up short on my goals, this week. I think that having my adopted daughter here has really thrown off my routine. I'm hoping to climb back onto the saddle tomorrow. I have managed to do yoga twice, walk an average of 7000 steps/day, and have a couple of…

Ahhh! It's August! Ok, new month, time for me to get back on track. The whole moving thing really threw off my exercise routine. At first, I was getting of plenty of moving related exercise, but now I'm just being lazy. My August fitness goals: 1) Do yoga daily. 2) Walk at least 7500 steps/day, 6 days/week. 3) Do circuit…

Hey, Ladies! Sorry for being MIA. I've been having serious technical difficulties, since I moved. First, my 9yo computer finally died. One move too many, it said. My middle son is our hardware specialist and he came over for 4 days after work to try to work on the thing for me. He ended up replacing all of its parts, so I…

You guys have been KILLING IT on the exercise! It's too bad you aren't all closer, because we could totally be having races around the lake. My son gave me his bike, when we moved. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow and go buy a helmet. It's been a while since I've ridden a bike, but I figure it'll come back to me. Plus,…

Hey, Warrior Sisters! The hardest part of move week is over. I'm mostly packed and done with trainings and work stuff. I was going to finish up packing tonight, but just couldn't keep standing. My son and his friends aren't arriving until noon to move us, so I'm just going to finish in the morning. I've been retaining…

7/7-7/13 fitness check-in: Goal: Burn at least 3500 calories/week Actual: I exercised 990 minutes & burned 4598 calories Goal: Lift 3x/week Actual: I lifted twice this week, not counting boxes. Lol. Good enough. I think I'm done for the week. Time for dinner!

Hey, Warrior Sisters! I've been having fun packing and getting ready for the move. I signed my new lease, yesterday, and am so excited about cooking in my new, full-sized kitchen! My youngest son & I were giddy about how we could be in there with the landlord, with room to spare. Our kitchens, for many years, have been…

Thanks to all of you Warrior Sisters for empathizing with my moving process. I actually enjoyed the packing, today. I was dreading it and then realized that I have very little stuff. When we moved back here from NY in 12/09, I got rid of most of our stuff, because I couldn't afford to store it all and didn't want to have…

Hi, Gigi! Welcome to Warrior Women! It sounds like you'd fit in great here! I'm 48 (I'll be 49 in August, but who's rushing;) and actually went for a decade barely weighing myself and not caring how much I weighed. I'm glad you came out of denial far sooner! By the time I found MFP, I was at 220lbs (I'm 5'0"). I can't tell…

Warrior Sisters, I am so exhausted! I'm glad I got some exercise running errands, because I have no energy left. I'm sitting here hungry and trying to get the energy up to cook something. I think that I was really anxious about finding a new place and now that I have, I'm tired from my whole body vibrating with so much…

Hey, Warrior Sisters! I'm so glad you all pitched in to help Jodi figure out that she was underfeeding her poor body! I am super tired today, from Jack's class and not going to sleep until 2am... I think I was just wired from the news about the apartment. The Noah's Bagels breakfast my sleep deprivation inspired was…

Diana, Welcome to Onederland! It's lovely here. I'm sure you'll become a permanent resident, because you are so focused. I haven't seen you take your eye off the ball:) Culo, that's great you started with a personal trainer too! I will absolutely heed your advice and add more weight slowly, as I embark on this weight…

Happy 7/7, Warrior Women! I had my first weight training session with Joe. He's such a cutie--only 24 and so patient and encouraging. He introduced me to most of the weight machines, today. We went around to each one (I believe there were 15) and he just talked me through 1 set of 15 reps on each, explaining the correct…

Diana, it is super confusing! I don't want to under fuel my body anymore, but I also don't want to force feed myself. I've decided to just do my best and hope it all balances out. I had a super carb & sugar filled day, celebrating my middle son's birthday. While at brunch, I was feeling good about it, because it's the…

Culo, that's so great that you made two trips to the gym! Swimming is really exhausting! I used to be such a fish, but I think that I went too many years without using those muscles. I'm glad you're getting to move and sleep is also very healing. I am so sore from Jack's Happy Hour. I was sore yesterday, but I really…

Happy 4th of July! I decided to decline the invitation to the Filipino party. I remembered that I don't like being out on the 4th of July. The noise freaks me out and there are too many drunk drivers out there. I'm glad I stayed home, because my poor, little dog was freaked out all day. As I'm typing, he's sitting on my…

Culo, I'm so sorry to hear your health update. Taking medicine that ruins the taste of food has to be horrible! I know you love food as much as I do, so it's such a dip in quality of life to have that altered. Also, another friend of mine is on Coumadin and has to watch what she eats, because food rich in Vitamin K makes…

OMG! You warriors are doing great! I spent most of the day running around looking at apartments, because I hope to be in a new one by August 1st. I could've walked more but, after 10,000 steps, my knees were complaining, so I started taking cabs. Culo, I'm working with a trainer at my gym right now, but I may try New Rules…

Warrior Women Rock!:flowerforyou: I am so excited about this month! I'm really looking forward to learning how to lift and being able to go to the gym whenever I want. Your goals are amazing! I may not be the most ambitious in the group, but I will absolutely cheer you on all month long! Gonna go lie down now. Getting…

I live in Oakland and work in San Francisco! It would be great to have a live MFP friend. Friend me, if you like:)

Warrior Sisters, June is just about over! I think we did really well in June and I'm ready for the new July challenges. If you haven't already peeked at the July thread, I'm planning on lifting 3x/week, in addition to my usual exercise. Stephanie, what a treat to have roasted goat! Can you already do 100 push-ups? I still…

Ok, well I know what I need from the store, today! Thanks for making my shopping list for me:)

Culo, I'm glad you're adding Lois the Pie Queen to your list. It's definitely worth the trip! I may actually relocate up to that neighborhood, since I fell in love with Berkeley Bowl and my cousin lives up there. I don't know if I've found my "sweet spot" at all, but I'm happy to be back down to 177. I actually cut my…

Hey, Warrior Sisters! I had such an amazing day, yesterday! Not only did I get to go to 2 new (to me) restaurants: Champa Garden (incredible Laotian food) and Lois the Pie Queen (where I met my new love, lemon ice box pie), but then went dancing in public in a crowded San Francisco club for the first time in YEARS! My…

Happy Saturday, Warrior Sisters! I was too hot to sleep until 1am, so I let myself sleep in and rearranged my usual Saturday routine. My cousin and I are taking my 87yo auntie out to her favorite Laotian restaurant for her birthday. Then, I'll go do my grocery shopping. I'm thinking about going to this fancy grocery store…

I'm so sorry you're not feeling well, Jodi! I think I was also coming down with something, because I passed out at 7pm last night, woke up @ 1am, then went back to sleep at 2am and slept until 6:30am. I feel much better, now. I hope you'll feel better soon. I don't think it's selfish to put your health first. Good for you!…

Hey, Warrior Sisters! I'm waiting for my dinner to cook and thought I'd see what you're all doing. I'm so hungry! I'm making roasted chicken thighs, gorgonzola potato chips and steamed broccoli. I had a good night's sleep and a pretty mellow day, so I'm feeling good. Jodi, I'm so sorry about your family stress. Is the kid…

Hey, Warrior Sisters! Allergies woke me up out of a dead sleep, so here I am! I do notice that yoga helps to calm and ground me. It's hard to know how much of that is yoga, though. I have a long spiritual practice I do in the mornings and yoga is at the end of that.
