  • Ugh, I definitely meant to ask if anyone was an "expert" on Sonoma...not expect. I don't seem to be able to delete and re-post or edit the title though. Oops.
  • I'm selling my entrance to the Chicago run to do the one in GR. I'm so glad they've added so many more dates/locations. I signed up for Chicago and then it sold out before my boyfriend or sister had a chance to log in. We'll all get in in GR and save money on the trip. Yay!

  • I have to agree. I haven't made a bad recipe from her site and she almost exclusively uses real food. It's such a nice alternative.
  • Lately, I've been exercising after work on most days, so I have a filling, easy on the stomach snack around 4:30, workout around 5:30-6, then dinner after. If I'm not going to have dinner right away, because we have other plans or it needs to cook or something, I eat another small, high protein snack. I'm always eating! I…
  • Thanks for posting, I love lemon bars and honestly, I thought they were much more difficult to make than this. Yay!
  • Same here! I went from only being able to drink lattes, switched to coffee with lots of cream and sugar, and slowly weened myself to black coffee about 5 years ago. I love it now.

  • I think bootcamp is different for everyone depending on the location, instructor, regimen, class setup, etc. I'm currently in a session that runs twice a week for 6 weeks. It's outside (even tonight in the rain - yuck) and the class is different each time, other than the mile run that starts each class. Everything in my…
  • I'm in the Fantasie myself (Freya for sports bras - LOVE them) and a 34FF. When I lost weight before to get to the size I'm in now, my band size was all that really changed.. Some girls just have the goods, I guess. I buy a lot of my bras on ebay and they are shipped over here really quickly from the UK, so I'd think even…
  • If I'm just doing a quick kitchen clean-up or dishes or a load of laundry, I don't count it, but I moved about 6 weeks ago and definitely counted all of those hours....cleaning, packing, moving furniture, etc. It added up and I was wiped out after 4 hours of cleaning and packing and did not have the energy to keep up on my…
  • So glad to hear that you enjoyed your Disney Princess half experience! Every person I've talked to who has done talks about how fun it is!

  • I'm not training specifically for it yet, but planning to run the Disney Princess Half next February. Training for my first 10K now and determined to do that half next year. My determination that the Disney Princess would be my first half has the added bonus of convincing my bf to make a Disney trip, even though he said he…

  • It's true that it's not all that hard to slim down and fit Mexican food into your daily calorie goals, but the second I walk in that restaurant, I'm all about the margarita, the enchiladas, and going to town on the chips and salsa. Bad news bears.
  • I have both Fitness Buddy and Gain Fitness on my iphone. My friend swears by Gain Fitness. I just downloaded it last week and have only used it once, but I really enjoyed it. You can tell it where you are working out (home, gym, on the road), what type of equipment you have available and want to use, which muscle group you…
  • I'm not sure I actually have advice, but I can commiserate. I've definitely been there. I 'weigh in' on Thursdays and this past Thursday showed a 3.3lb loss. I was so excited and happy and proud and glad to see my hard work paying off. So, Thursday, I go out to dinner, eat half a pizza and drink a few beers. I deserve it,…
  • Thanks so much to everyone for sharing. It's always good to read the stories and know you aren't the only one going through something. Here's my story: I honestly don't know what my weight was until right after my college graduation. My mom is one who was and is always on a diet. It's an unhealthy way to grow up for any…
  • Bump. I'm curious about this and most all protein powder products...I'm finishing the bag of Shakeology I have and not re-ordering. I just made a simple Green Smoothie this morning (no added protein), but I think it would be good to have a good-mixing protein powder around to add when I need the extra boost.
  • I always make meatloaf in a muffin tin....cooks faster and great for portion control and freezing leftovers. I'm thinking these mac&cheese muffins would be a great side dish to that! We always had mac & cheese on the side of meatloaf as a kid. Added bonus: my boyfriend will find that I do have uses for my multiple muffin…
  • Great information, thanks everyone! I definitely have the goggles and I'm good about rinsing the chlorine from my suit, but what is swimmer's shampoo? Would I find it at a regular store or a specialty shop? And, now that I'm thinking of it...do any of you do anything special to protect your skin (especially face) from…
  • Thanks all! I will definitely check these out. I've heard of Kal-Haven, but never really investigated it....that could be great. As far as Brighton goes...I've never been there, but we do have friends that live there, so that could definitely be a good weekend trip.
  • Dressing of your choice.....what do you think would work with this? I'm not a huge dressing person, but I'm not sure it would actually need it. It would probably be good with a little fresh blue cheese, but it seems like the hot sauce would be enough as far as 'dressing' goes. Thoughts? Also, it may not be the most healthy…
  • I made a quick and simple Green smoothie this morning, but love the new ideas! Mine was (and is my go-to): 1 c Vanilla Light Soy Milk (I've used cow milk and almond milk too) 1/2 c Vanilla 0% Greek Yogurt 1c mixed frozen fruit (usually use frozen banana, but didn't have on hand) 2c baby spinach I've heard in the past that…
  • Thanks for posting. The best thing about this recipe is that I have all of these ingredients at home just waiting for me to make these muffins. Yum.
  • This is huge. I need to tell myself that every day that I struggle to run at 5.0 on the treadmill for more than 5 minutes. I'm doing it, I'm going to keep doing it, and I'll get better eventually. Slow and steady.
  • Can't wait to look at some of these recipes posted. We do a lot of chili in the cooler months, have had luck with beef stew, love meatloaf (I usually do half lean ground beef and half ground turkey). And, now that it's grilling season, we made lean sirloin steaks on the grill on Friday evening with a nice salad on the…
  • I don't personally own these DVD's, but Bob Harper has several Kettlebell DVDs on his website and last I checked, they were all still $5. I bought some of this other ones and they are great.
  • Thank you all. It's so easy to get caught up on times, especially when I'm often at the back of the pack, but I'll take the advice and start focusing more on endurance. I do want to be able to run the whole thing without walking. I'll make that my goal for the summer, rather than the 35 minutes. The 35 minutes will come.
  • I gave up American Idol. I've always been an Idol addict. I never missed an episode before this season, but I was finding the episodes multiplying on my DVR and I never had time to watch them with going to the gym in the evenings. I miss the Idol conversation in the office, but I much prefer the nice comments I get from my…
  • Bump. Plus, an additional question. I currently run/walk a 5K in about 40 minutes. My goal is to get to 35 minutes this summer. I try really hard not to compare myself to those who are running them in under 30 minutes as a starting point, as we're all different, but I think some advice from someone who started like me…
  • I'm always on the lookout for great dinner ideas for 2, so thanks for posting! We like to try at least one new recipe a week, but we always have frozen tilapia filets and frozen chicken breasts on hand for quick meals....grill the protein, cook a bag of steam in the microwave veggies or make a quick salad or grill up some…
  • I've only ever had it as a side...made plain with a little butter and salt. I love all these ideas. Thank you!
