  • PW: 177.1 CW: 178.5 :( Was pigging out towards end of last week because I had a cold - aeating makes me feel better. Then friends bought me a massive box of chocolates for my birthday when I saw them at the weekend (which I ate) and now I'm worried about my family and ate silly amounts of chocolate last night. I guess at…
  • PW: 179.1 CW: 177.1 Helpers: All the support on MFP and trying to do my best for Team Red. Also not losing much weight last week I felt that I kind of "carried" some weight loss into this week. To be fair the biggest drop I had was Tuesday to Wednesday following my weigh in last week. Lol. Hinderances: The availability of…
  • That's really interesting. On TV it looks like they are doing way more than 7hrs a week of exercise. I imagined they were doing at least 2 hours a day if not more!
  • Me too! :drinker: I work pretty hard when I go to the gym and I wear a sports vest top and capri running trousers and I'm boiling when I finish my workout. I'm normally perspiring more than most of the other women there - I find I'm even hotter if I wear a non-wicking T-shirt or anything with sleeves! I'm looking forward…
  • Nice idea! I wish I could make this month, sounds like a fun idea!
  • I do this too. I worry I'm not giving my body enough calories during the day. I work out in the morning and sometimes by 5pm I'll barely be over 100 net cals. I'm worried if I eat more earlier in the day I might still snack in the evenings and go over my allowance :S
  • Hee hee, I thought this was a very early Saturday morning thread (UK). Lol. I plan to spend this morning cleaning my flat, doing the ironing while watching the Biggest Loser USA (10am on Living) and batch cooking braised cabbage and minced turkey for healthy lunches I can take to work next week! No gym today, been 4 times…
  • GreekByMarria - I think you are right there on staying on sedentary. Light active might be someone like a very busy office adminstrator/receptionist who is running around the office all day delivering paperwork, escorting visitors, collecting deliveries etc etc or maybe someone who stands up most of the day for their job.
  • Personally I don't count the walking I do as part of my commute to work as I don't think its performed at a high-enough intensity or for long enough to really count. I walk about 2 miles a day in total to and from the train stations. Plus I don't want to over estimate my exercise calories, I figure its easy to…
  • Deodorant doesn't work for everyone - depends on how much an individual persires and the intensity of their workout. I sweat loads unless I'm only doing weight training (even doing that I get a bit warm) and deodrant can't completely mask my level of persisration and likely odour after a cardio workout. My entire back,…
  • Always! In fact I take most of my showers at the gym - saves me lots of money on heating hot water and using electricity for the hairdryer at home too! I normally go before work and the thought of saving money on my energy bills works as an extra incentive on dark winter mornings! I haven't calculated how much I save per…
  • PW: 179.9 CW: 179.1 Considering I'm trying to lose 2lbs a week I don't feel this is a good week. I do seem to have lost just over a centimeter (half an inch) from my tummy at least so not all bad. Hindrances: Eating out for 2 birthdays and Saturday night last week (as well as a work lunch yesterday) really add up in…
  • Hi Red Team! Thanks for taking in a stray! Just done a "last chance" stylee workout! Hoping it shows tomorrow!
  • Thanks for all of the good suggestions. Please keep them coming! I'm a bit scared of snacks because I'm not hungry. So I don't think if I'd stop after a small bag or a cup or two or whether I'd just keep eating until I'd consumed everything. I'd turn 2 cups of popcorn into 8 cups and I find it quite difficult to go to the…
  • Protein is good - it'll help you build muscle which will keep you lean and strong in the long term. I wouldn't worry about being over on protein. Like others on here I changed my protein settings because I felt the protein requirements were way too low - I'm aiming for about 1g per lean pound of bodymass because I do a…
  • You can add me! My diary is open and I'm in London, UK. I'm logging everything I eat no-matter how bad, including the biscuits, chocolate, treats at work etc. I'm not sure people would call it varied but I'm happy eating what I'm eating at the moment - I don't need a lot of variety during the week especially cos I tend to…
  • You can add me! My diary is open and I'm in London, UK. I'm logging everything I eat no-matter how bad, including the biscuits, chocolate, treats at work etc. I've been getting inspiration from other people's diaries too - for example I'm going to have carrot and coridander soup this weekend because I saw it in someone's…
  • Me too. I wish I could eat all the time and not get fat. I feel so deprived when I see others eating chocolate, cake and yummy things even if I'm not at all hungry. I end up "saving" lots of calories per day by eating less and exercising so i can have what i "enjoy" in the evenings/weekends. Its my "fun" that requires…
  • I was low carbing for 2 months before Christmas too so I think some of my first weeks weight loss is glycogen and water - so I guess i would say low carbing has helped me too. Good work to everyone who's posted so far. Good Team Blue!
  • DANCING_CAT Previous: 185.0 Current 179.9 Helpers: Going to the gym and getting my weekly groceries delivered so I'm not tempted to buy rubbish as a "treat" while doing my food shopping. Hinderances: The availability of white choc chip cookies! :ohwell: * 179.9 lbs converted from 81.6 kg on a digital scale to lbs using…
  • Oooh tempted by the London one ... and its not til June either. I should have hit my target weight by then!
  • 5'7 and 158 lbs. I do a lot of weight training so my lean body mass (measured at the gym) is 120 lbs by itself so that make me 24% body fat which I reckon is pretty healthy.
  • I think it depends on the individual, personally I find if I get up at 5am and have breakfast around 6-7am then I'll be starving by 9:30am and end up having a 2nd breakfast and STILL have lunch at 1pm (and eat an evening meal). Whereas if I delay having breakfast until 9am (4 hours after waking) despite getting up at 5am…
  • No you're not the only one! Hello fellow morning-exercisers! Now I don't feel so crazy! I wake up at 5:15am ... to get the first train that gets me to the gym after it opens at 6:30am. After work I find I'm more tired and its easier to skip the gym in favour of working late/meeting friends/just collasping on the sofa at…
  • Everyday. I find I tend to be bad with food when I don't. I'm using a free android app (Iibra) which automatically plots trend graphs so it smooths out the daily flucuations (some days it does go up) and its nice you can see when you're likely to hit your target weight.
  • Congratulations on your weight loss, it sounds like you're doing really well. I have these feelings too, especially when I was lighter and closer to a UK size 12 (US 8). A couple of people have mentioned boundaries and letting people know whats appropriate but what does this mean in practice? How you let men know they've…
  • Good challenge. Like some others here i also keep a 1 litre (32fl oz) bottle of water on my desk and aim to drink this before lunchtime, then refill and drink the rest before home time. I find it harder to remember to drink enough at weekends!
  • About Yourself: I am a 29 year old woman and work in the software industry. I exercise 3-5 times a week and I'm reasonably fit, however I tend to eat when I'm tired, stressed or worried. In the evenings I end up buying chocolate, cakes and snacks on the way home from work and undoing all of my healthy eating. I need to…
