  • I'll add one more here. My famous ribs, which are absolutely fantastic. The last time I made these I used St. Louis spare ribs. You could also use baby back but I liked the St Louis because there was more meat. -In a large disposable pan, layer a bunch of iceburg lettuce leaves. -Please the slab or slabs of ribs on top of…

  • I've been overweight most of my life. While I wouldn't have considered myself morbidly obese, I knew I was not healthy and at a much higher risk for a heart attack. My Grandfather passed away at 97 years old right around Thanksgiving. While we were at his funeral, and people we up talking about him I just kept thinking…
  • Ive got a BBQ with my in-laws for lunch and then a BBQ with my parents and brother for dinner. In between we're going to our town's 4th of July parade. It is supposed to be 99 degrees. Fireworks sitting in our friends driveway who live close to the ball fields where they shoot them off from. Luckily both BBQ's are at my…
  • If something like that happens to me at lunch time, then it's a little easier because you can adjust your dinner calories so that everything fits. When it becomes tricky is when it's for dinner and you pretty much only have a certain amount of calories you can fit in. If that were me in the situation, I would have just…

  • Trader Joe's has a jalapeno chicken sausage that is only 100 calories per link that I will toss on the grill instead of regular bratwurst. I almost like it better!! If there isn't a Trader Joe's around, Johnsonville makes a fantastic turkey cheddar sausage as well that is fantastic.
  • Hi Guys, I'm not real active on these boards but I saw the name of this group and HAD to join. 37 years old. 5' 9" from Norwalk, IA (Des Moines Suburbs). Been at this since New Years. Down 34 lbs and I'm pleased with that. I've sort of been at a plateau for the past couple weeks but I've worked through them before, so I'm…

  • I started on January 4 and am down 26 lbs as of this morning - 45 lbs to go to my goal. I am so glad my coworker introduced me to MFP. I've had success with diets before (Atkins back in the day) however once going back to normal eating habits, the weight went back on rapidly. What I've realized is that once I hit my goal…
