Wholebake 9 bars are filling and make a good meal substitute with some dried fruit if required. If the time isn't going to be too long then make thin egg pancakes and roll your favourite veg fillings into them. They have to be carried in a suitable cool bag with ice blocks. Or go for vegetarian scotch eggs (made with…

Barbpol62 - Don't give up on weight loss, it happens to me like that. I don't think anyone believes me but the scales can go up or down by 7 lbs in a week and that can't be what I'm eating or exercising as my routine doesn't vary that much. I also have the skin thing going on despite the low dose antibiotics. I have found…

I changed the food on my plate from carbohydrates to vegetables. I hated it at first, I was craving carbohydrates but it is so natural now that I don't even think about it. Curry with a large pile of steamed veg instead of rice, you can't beat it. Exercise is how I try to control the tummy, crunches and the like

I do the 5:2 to help me maintain a weight loss with a reduced calorie intake on the 5 days and a very reduced intake on the other 2. Since last July I've had to cut my calorie intake by about 250 a day just to stay the same weight, despite eating the same and exercising more. That's what happened when my estrogen levels…

Cook from scratch so you know what is in the food you eat. If it is brown it is better for you as it contains the husk so would take longer for your body to digest. (Brown rice flour) Eat vegetables with everything and then have an extra portion of vegetables to reducen the carbohydrates on your plate. Eating little and…

I can vouch for that. I'm wheat intolerant but I can eat durum and rye without reacting. I haven't tried spelt flour yet as I can't have yeast so bread as a test is out. Those are the only three that I'm aware of that are considered to be ancient wheats.

I must be one of the lucky ones because I don't like the gluten free alternative for bread, pastry, etc which meant I lost weight. Of my friends the only ones to gain weight after diagnosis were those who insisted on eating the replacement gf items. Where cakes and biscuits are concerned it doesn't matter if they are gf or…

I use a light therapy box. After I walk to work I have it on on my desk for the required time (time is affected by the light intensity). I find it very effective at raising my spirits and giving me a much needed boost. I haven't tried vitamin D yet but there are more doctors suggesting it should be taken at 10 MCG a day…

All wheat spikes your blood sugar levels, even wholewheat. Try limiting the amount you eat at any one time. I avoid carbs in the evenings to help stop the night sweats.... although evenings is my favourite time to have a piece of chocolate!! Don't limit WHAT you eat, just HOW MUCH you eat. That might help you maintain your…

I'm usually too ill to care about watching what I eat. My fall out lasts for 3 days so I just eat sensibly, but probably more, for those days as my body continues to reject anything I put into it.

What the previous post said. Never eat below your BMR Eat 500 less calories a day than your 'from normal daily activity' figure to lose a pound a week (as shown in your goals page) Eat back your exercise calories on days when you work out You may add weight to start, but once your body realises it will still get the food…

Have you seen my blog? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Gosser I'm pescatarian so skip over the fish ones (or swap the fish for tofu, which I do sometimes). Most of my favourite recipes are on my blog ~ tofu kerala style red lentil stew mung bean stew smoked tofu and lentil soup stuffed mushrooms scrambled tofu vegetable…

Yes you can eat what you want within reason. There is room for your take-away or chocolate bar or whatever you want as long as you:- 1. Stick to your limits 2. Only eat what your body can cope with 3. Don't think that you can do that every day (your body needs the correct nutrition) You're doing this for the rest of your…

When you go gluten free joint pain normally fades. However this may be due to the exercise or if you read this article it might help. http://celiacdisease.about.com/od/symptomsofceliacdisease/a/Celiac-Disease-And-Joint-Pain.htm "If you do all this and still find you're getting some joint pain and other glutening symptoms,…

No, only if people blog the recipe

Sometimes things need a little more cooking, although biscuits need slightly less.

I'm pescatarian

A very interesting article, thanks for posting

It isn't a 'cheat' it is just part of my eating habits. Every Sunday we have a big family meal with dessert which takes me to double my normal daily calorie intake. I have fewer calories on the weekdays to allow for this so that my average over the week still means I should lose weight. If you eat differently at the…

Thats fine I put the recipes in a blog so everyone can use them.

I'm pescatarian and I eat steamed veg instead of rice with dishes. You'll find some of my recipes here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Gosser If you are eating carbs to make up your calories try eating more protein and veg instead (nuts are great for catching up on calories)

I wish I looked that good! If you really think your tummy is a problem try some sit-ups, just make sure you are using the abdominal muscles when you do them i.e. Tense those muscles before you attempt to do a sit-up. You don't look like you need to lose anymore weight, you should be proud of yourself for doing so well…

I'm pescatarian but you could try one of mine, some are really quick and easy http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Gosser

I'm not diabetic, but if I eat too much sugar it brings on hot flashes and/or night sweats What is your carb intake like and where do you get them from? Rice, potatoes, pasta and wheat based carbs all make your blood sugar level spike. Try taking 1/2 tsp cinnamon a day (sprinkled on your food or as a tea) as it helps…

Skip the rice. Have a pile of steamed veg with yours. We cook our own and do this to reduce the calories. Watch the sodium content will probably be high so make sure you drink plenty for the next day or so to flush that out (it'll make your body retain water otherwise)
-
I don't cook with salt, even if the recipe asks for it. You get used to the difference quite quickly. Use the low sodium salts available in most supermarkets. If you're low on protein then eat nuts, soys products or meat. Just up the quantities you were planning in your meals

I'm wheat intolerant so I eat gluten free. I'm also intolerant to cow dairy (although I can eat sheeps and goats cheese), msg, peanuts, cruciferous vegetables. Oh, and I'm a pescatarian. I eat indian, chinese and italian style foods mainly. We cook our own to cater for my intolerances. I've put some of the recipes we use…
