  • Get a friend to help you measure yourself, bust, waist, thighs, biceps, hips. Do this once in a while and keep a record of it. Everytime you think you are still fat pull the figures out and see the inches you have lost. Put up an old photo of yourself and take a new one once in a while to put next to it. This way you'll…
  • I drink green tea all day at work. It didn't help me lose any weight, but if you are changing from normal drinks like tea or coffee it is lower calorie and so close to drinking water it would help you lose weight. If you don't like the taste just drink water, it would probably have the same effect
  • Take a look at the foods that contain the sugar then try to swap them out for something with less in it. For example, if I look at my food today I see that I have also gone over on sugar (I don't normally track sugar) and there are two items I eat for snacks which are good protein and calcium but put my sugar up. I could…
  • Because I love cats and this one reflected the bloated feeling that made me start to diet again. Oh, and I think its funny so it makes me smile
  • A glass of cranberry juice a day can reduce the chances of yeast infections
  • Soya. Tofu, soya desserts, soya yoghurts, soya milk
  • Eat more protein. Try soya yoghurt/dessert for snacks.
  • My first week here and I lost 2lb! Amazing considering I only wanted to lose 10 in total and only started half way through the week. I've never been a fan of calorie counting but MFP makes it so easy Definitely helps to make you realise what you should eat and being able to track exercise helps so I can see the good it is…
  • My 'cheat day' would be Sunday. I don't worry about what is put in fornt of me, I just eat it and then record the meals at the end of the day. I rarely get the chance to exercise on Sunday so invariably go over my reduced calorie total, but hey, it is only once a week :-)
  • Bump http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/3047-700-calories-a-day-and-not-losing a brilliant piece that explains why we should eat our calories every day
  • My partner and I joined together and he is exactly like your husband. He asked me what I was doing yesterday and when I said I was reading the forums he said 'I didn't know it had those'. We support each other with eating the right foods and that works really well. I've never counted calories before but he wanted to do it…
  • My mum does that to me all the time, even when I have lost 24lb. Fortunately my new partner isn't willing to sit and listen to her berate me (unfairly in his opinion) and says so. Made for an interesting christmas lunch, but I'm grateful as being told you're wrong constantly must affect your mental attitude to life. Your…
  • I have one (I think), it is just two feet pads that go up and down as you step. I can set the resistance to make it harder to walk on it. You might also consider a rebounder if you have the space, you can walk or run on it.
  • Brisk walking is excellent exercise. If you have stairs you can walk up and down them. I use a Wii fit plus, static bike, step machine, rebounder and two cans of food to excercise at home. It all depends on what you feel comfortable doing. Better to do something you enjoy than nothing at all.
  • I love green tea and drink it all the time. It does nothing for weight loss.

  • My 18 month old cat loves to sleep on the back of the sofa, but has a habit of rolling over and falling off. He doesn't land on his feet and always tries to look as if he meant to end up there
  • It set me at 1200 calories, which in my opinion is far too low. I reset it to 1500 and will review it in about 4 weeks to see if that is working for me. I would recommend something like porridge for breakfast as it is slow release. Snack on soya yoghurt or soya dessert as they contain protein so make you feel fuller for…
  • You can select tea/coffee with milk from the foods list. It has calories attributed to it to allow for the milk.
  • An alpro soya yoghurt does for me
  • Welcome to the 40+ body!! Not only does your metabolism seem to stop loving you, bits start hurting. At least we haven't reached 50+ yet, apparently bits start falling off at that age
  • I would stick to the 'eat anything you want' diet if I were you. Just moderate the quantities. No diet that says you shouldn't eat something ie fat, carbs, etc is worth following. The word diet should refer to what you eat every day for the rest of your life. This site is good as it allows you to eat whatever you want but…
