Watch the freaken video I posted and then I think you will feel more like the other end of the horse.

So you are saying that members of the class CARNIVORA consume only meat right? How much money would you like to put up on that? In case you don't know, you haven't a clue. If you want to get a clue, watch the video I posted, or, preferably bet me $1,000 that you are right.

Science as defined by whom? How about the leading cardiologist in the United States? I posted his half hour explanation of the reasons we are herbivores, but none of you geniuses have bother to look at it. Of course you know better because that is what the teacher said in High school biology.
-
Can you even define the difference between a carnivore and an omnivore. No going to Google. Post immediately.

In case you have never had a biology course, here is what the teeth of a meat eater look like:…

I agree. Unfortunately the article itself is in Nature, and although I have read it, I cannot post it for copyright reasons, and if you want to get it, you have to go to a medical library. Nature charges to download the article. So unless you are willing to spend the money, the best you can do is look at other articles…

You people are really a waste of time. You just want to hear yourself talk. I had forgotten how bad this board was. See ya
-
You know, if you actually looked at what I posted you might be in a much better position to understand who was talking, what his arguements were and why he is right. Of course this is the age of the 15 second attention span and soundbites. So to give you a snippet ofWilliam C. Roberts, M.D. Dr. William Roberts is executive…

The US already by itself grows enough food plants to feed the entire world. However, instead of feeding people, a huge portion of our corn and soy crop, for example, go to feed animals.

He is saying that meat won't be available or considered a good food in the future. He didn't say plants were not appropriate for omnivores. And by the way, humans are herbivores: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUa814suU9A

Yes, Delicious. Points well taken,

Yup. We're cruelty free and proud.

Okay, I guess you don't read much scientific literature.

These people are true Paleo believers, so of course they are not going to like the study. According to their methodology USNWR simply collected responses from people who said they had been on the diet. The vast majority who have tried Paleo and responded to the survey stated that the diet was ineffective, and they didn't…

First, congratulations on your weight loss. You look good. Second, what are you saying? Unless you are a junk-food vegetarian, you don't gain weight on plant food diets.

Did you read the part about the "new research is well done and COMPELLING." Speculation that more studies are needed are both correct and normal with a new breakthrough piece of research like this.

Instead of a a halfazz dumb response why not try reading the study. http://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/new-study-links-l-carnitine-in-red-meat-to-heart-disease-201304176083 The link is to a Harvard journal which references a study in Nature which is a top scientific journal.

I thought anyone doing something like Paleo ought to know about the L-carnatine study in Nature. It shows that there is a substance in red meat that alters the product of your gut bacteria and causes it to produce a toxic substance. It is not extremely toxic but over time it causes colon cancer and heart disease,…

As a Neocon Conservative, I would like to point out that Republicans are not the only tribe that have idiots in their midst. They are pretty evenly spread out among Conservatives and Liberals. I actually do not fit into any particular political group very well: I am vegetarian for ethical reasons, pro animal rights,…

It can postpone it.

Of course. But nonetheless, they died. When they died at 40, there is no way to know how healthy they would have been at 80.

You may have meant it as tongue and cheek, but it is actually a good point. Really, no one knows WHAT the caveman diet really was, other than some characteristics like extremely high fiber (100g per day) and on top of that, no one really knows how GOOD the diet was since most of them did not live to be 40.
-
To bring this back to Paleo, the point is that Paleo eliminates processed foods from the diet. The philosophy is that you can either eat foods that make you more healthy, or less healthy. Eating processed foods often makes people less healthy, because they tend to be less nutritious per cal than whole foods, and people…

Not me for sure. Although leave out the beef and the feta and I'd be interested. You may be interested to know that before the "Paleo Diet" existed, vegans were posting here and getting harassed and criticized by meat eaters who would start threads with "vegan" in the title and then bash us for both the eating style and…

Okay, I read the study. It is highly speculative. One could easily disagree with almost all of his conclusions. Particularly in this paragraph, although I do agree with what he says in the last paragraph: "Further broader relevance of anemia-induced porotic hyperostosis on OH 81 is its support for hypotheses that…

Thank you for posting that. PLoS ONE ia one of my favorite journals, and I will read the full article. Meanwhile, understand that from a parietal fragment ( of an Austrolapiticus?) they are speculating on the cause of a 1.5 MY old case of anemia. The theory they are espousing is by no means universally held. Please see:…
