Okay this is my last post, and only because Joy put up that ridiculous refutation of Roberts. First you should know that the author of that article has his own high fat meat eating organization. He also died of a heart attack at age 77, which is a remarkable old age for a meat eater.…
-
Maybe you should email Dr Roberts and let him know your opinions.
-
I agree. I was in the class of 1965 at Penn. I then went to a less prestigious but extremely competitive professional school (about 2000 applicants for 160 seats.) Following that, I got another degree for fun. I got my last one about three years ago. I am sorry I told you I went to Penn. I should know better.
-
It's not a matter of "can". People and even herbivores could turn cannibalistic if it means survival. It's a matter of what the diet is solely based of. I think you really need to do more research and understand the terms you are throwing around. I am sorry. You've been so helpful here, but I think it is you who needs to…
-
Are you really 70? Because if you are, then you'll note the age differences between you and Sun. So why would you know if he really lectured there or not? Do you know every single lecturer since you attended? That's just..a bit weird. How the hell would I know how old he is. I don't look at anyones bio here. I really don't…
-
Ummm....wow. That's not what I did at all and just because that Dr. Robert "says" all members are Carnivora are carnivores doesn't make it so. This is like people saying FACT even when it isn't. Sorry. You don't get to give out cigars. Just to be precise, Dr Roberts did not claim members of carnivora were carnivores. He…
-
Oh, I went to Penn alright. I am pretty sure you did not. What exactly did you lecture on at Penn? And when?
-
No you get a cigar because you have demonstrated that the word "omnivore" doesn't mean anything. And Carnivore was the source for for the word carnivore, although technically as you pointed out, not all members of that order are pure carnivores. However, using Dr Robert's definition, all members of the Carnivora order are…
-
My undergaduate university was the University of Pennsylvania. How many people on this board do you think could get into Penn?
-
Yes! Give the girl a cigar! You and others have used the terms herbivore, omnivore and carnivore and have objected to how I have used them, specifically that I referred to one of the most famous cardiologists in the United States who said that humans were herbivores/ He in fact gives a definition that is meaningful and…
-
Do what? quote science that you could find if you could be bothered? [/quote] I want to see three consistent mutually exclusive definitions. Look up anything you want. I am saying you cannot do it. Prove me wrong.
-
Yup, I'm 70, I have a black belt in Shaolin Kempo Karate, and I work out 4 times a week. I am vegan and never see a doctor, except for check ups. I have three university degrees. Anything else you would like to know?
-
Very good so far. Consistant. Now do it for Herbivores and Omnivores.
-
Yes that is an elementary school definition. Now tell me at least one animal in each group. For example, we have already established by our self proclaimed expert on taxa that Grizzlies are not carnivores but omnivores. I really want to see how far you can take this before it implodes.
-
And where does the word "carnivore" come from? Let me ask again: What is the precise definition of a Herbivore, an Omnivore, and a Carnivore? Your definition should make it clear that the Grizzly is not a carnivore as you claim, but you should also give some examples of animals that are carnivores, and explain why they are…
-
Okay, I asked this before and I got the wrong answer. Let me ask it againl What is the difference between a herbivore, omnivore and a carnivore? Be precise
-
Really? Then why are they in the order Carnivora? http://www.nhptv.org/natureworks/grizzly.htm
-
Do you have a source for that, or is it just your opinion.
-
Sorry to disappoint you but this is my first day on this board in six months and will probably be my last. I am starting to remember why I left.
-
I would also like to know how "meat will be expensive" is an argument in favor of people being herbivores. The two arguments have nothing to do with each other, but both are true. Perhaps third world hunger is an argument in favor of people not needing to eat? Yes it is
-
What qualifies you to speak about anything? Why don't you tell us your credentials so we can see why you are so much better qualified to talk about what a herbivore is than the Editor of the American Journal of Cardiology/
-
Really! Why don't you stick your head in one's mouth then?
-
An economist, as well as other scientists can indeed figure out what future resources will allow us to do. You could also read the article I posted above from the guardian. It says the same thing from a different point of view/
-
Yup. The Genius I posted this for said that carnivores eat ONLY meat. Did you read it? Do you think it said that?
-
So what are these incisor teeth that humans have for? Gnashing broccoli? Do you really think they are for ripping raw flesh apart?
-
YOU ARE RIGHT. Thank you. You, me and the United Nations agree on then need to reduce meat consumption. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2013/feb/18/halve-meat-consumption-scientists
-
Yes, I cannot believe the general level of intelligence on this board. Who better to say that meat will become too expensive than an economist. Jeesh.
-
Why don't you try watching what I posted. If this guy doesn't know why you get heart attacks nobody does.
-
Grizzly Bears are in the class carnivora. The link attached is to a US Fish And Game publication: http://www.fws.gov/mountain-prairie/species/mammals/grizzly/grizz_foods.pdf Now how about my $1,000
-
Yes to both questons.
