  • You are probably okay for now, but you will eventually hit that dreaded plateau. When that happens, up your calories a little and add some HIIT and weights. Good luck!
  • WOOPS, sorry. Gonna side track this a little. I work for social security. I actually determine if someone is disabled or not and want to address a common myth. 90 percent of applications are NOT "AUTOMATICALLY" rejected. This is a myth perpetuated by wonderful disability lawyers who actually hurt your claim so you get…
  • How to eat well on food stamps. From a (soon to be) fit chick who grew up on food stamps. 1-Stop buying soda and juices. Water is free. Invest in a brita filter pitcher and save loads of money on drinking water. You may not like it, but it's better for your body and your wallet. 2-stop buying junk food. PERIOD. You have to…
  • Thanks ladies! SOOOOO SOOORRRRE TODAY Hi all, sorry I didn't introduce myself the first time around. I'm Jo. I completed my Day 2 last night and it definitely feel it when I go up stairs and rise from my chair today. Makes me nervous for weeks 3 and 4! Melissa, my friend's wedding is October 20, so really just a few weeks…
  • Hi Ladies. I just finished level 1 Day 1 yesterday. I'm 5'1 163lbs and trying to get in shape for my friends wedding in late October. I would never want to outshine the bride, but I'd like to come close. ;) I really enjoyed day 1 better than any of the levels on 30DS. Good luck ladies!
  • I just started this yesterday! Am really feeling it in my hammys today! I'm in if you'll have me.
  • BIAS is not discrimination. People have been terrorized, victimized, killed and dehumanized and needed protected status just to be viewed as human. Having to buy an extra seat on a plane because you are too big to fit into one is not on the same level of horror as having someone hang you from a tree because your…
  • NOT TRUE> I determine federal disability cases and it doesn't matter how the person became obese. If the obesity is severe enough, in conjunction with other severe medical impairments, they will be eligible for benefits
  • When has someone faced persecution because of obesity? And I mean real persecution. When has an obese person been paid less for the same work than a non-obese person? When has an obese person been denied education because they are obese? When has someone been lynched or legally defined as 2/3 of a person because they are…
  • From skinnytaste.com though it says eat warm, still delicious at room temp! And who doesn't love bacon! • Insanity isn't a shortcut. I completed 1.5 months and actually gained weight on it but lost a bunch of inches. My endurance went up and I got stronger, especially with push ups. The thing is, with insanity, you push to YOUR max effort. Many people wind up injured trying to emulate the athletes on screen. I am 40 lbs…
  • I just started Oxyelite after hitting a plateau. But I also got a full work up from an MD, checked thyroid function, heart and everything before I started. So start there. Fat burners don't have to be the evil thing alot of MFPers make them out to be if taken responsibly. Follow the dose your body can tolerate, start with…
  • The notebook. And the trailer, TRAILER for the movie Hachi ( I didn't bother to watch the movie if a 2 minute summary could make me bawl my eyes out) All Dogs Go to Heaven which I watched when I was like 7 or 8 at a school assembly (seriously whoever thought that movie was appropriate for young children is insane)
  • So glad to see this topic here. I'm always fearful of posting pics, because I'm not a skinny minnie and never have been. I have linebacker shoulders too. LOL When I start losing I will post ladies!
  • I haven't done one yet but on the website, they have this great circuit training prep calendar http://toughmudder.com/tough-mudder-boot-camp-training/ I'm thinking of the one in October in NJ since I'm a New Yorker. Are you doing one soon?
  • I would be Sparky Rivera. LOL
  • On the turbofire dvds, can't rememeber which, during the cooldown stretch, Chalene says, "Know how blessed you are to be able to work this hard." Something about that quote makes me feel like I'm lucky to be able to exercise. It makes me smile and be grateful everytime.
  • Heres a link that may be helpful . http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=326231 Seems like there is no evidence of benefits in humans and it may be a scheme.
  • I actually just bought this set and will be starting today. I'm trying it a bit skeptically because I am a high impact cardio addict. I want this to supplement the intensity of insanity and turbofire (other programs I own) I really want to see if I can get a good cardio workout from low impact yoga. I even bought a heart…

  • I just got DDP yoga and I am going to hybrid it with Turbofire. However, I am looking at DDP Yoga almost like a body weight strength training program to complement the cardio. If I was to hybrid with P90x I would probably use the any combination of the DVDs in place of Yoga X/Core Synergistics and Stretch X. Hope that helps
  • I understand, as I use my phone the same way. Channel that anger into your workout. Let the person know they didn't break you by what they did. Actually, consider the discomfort they may feel seeing you there. It may actually be empowering for you.
  • While theft makes someone feel violated, as a rape SURVIVOR, I would NEVER compare theft to rape. I would never wish that on anyone to feel the violation, mental, physical anguish or being raped. NOTHING COMPARES TO THAT. So stop it.
  • Depends if you are really into the spiritual yoga or looking to get some good flexibility and burn. I have Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown. Strict practitioners will say "this isn't yoga" but it is a great stretch/ strength building routine. 30 minutes and 2 workouts on one dvd.
  • Not to be an *kitten*, but why is your kindle at the gym with you when your gym is in your apartment complex?? Couldn't you have just left it in your apartment? Granted, it's an unfair situation, we should have free enjoyment of our items anywhere, but others don't allow this to be. When I go to the gym i have my keys, my…
  • Side pushups KILL me! I did a whopping 3 yesterday. Power pushups: goose egg. Any tips?
  • I made it to the second month and the asskicking gets so much worse. LOL. I'm on week 1 of month 2 and am only making it two rounds through each circuit and still not finishing it completely yet. Eventually I was able to get to the end of a month 1 workout. Regardless, I have still lost inches. Do your best and you will…
  • Insanity is an intense cardio/plyometric style workout. I would compare it to really intense HIIT workouts with some cardio/ calisthenic circuits in between. No weights unless you get the upper body training dvd. It is HARD but you really feel like a warrior when you do better than you did the last time.
  • Hi there! DONT QUITI just (re-)started Month 2 of Insanity and when i first started the warmup kicked my butt! What I did was my best of the workout. Sometimes I could only finish a warmup then just one circuit and so on. Eventually I got through the whole thing. It so far has taken me more than 60 days because of illness…
