  • Also, the fact that it was just a torn shirt believe it or not indicates good bite inhibition on the dogs part which is certainly positive :)
  • Both great replies. I am a trainer and behaviour advisor and have worked with rescues and aggression cases for a long time. It's not the dogs fault for responding to the cumulative stress it was under, but having said that the family needs to implement better protocols for visitors in future, both for their safety and for…
  • the general consensus is that the more accurate ones are also the better quality and therefore more expensive ones, but you can get some bargains on ebay if you're a good sniper (just got myself a polar ft4 for 20 quid). I would look at the polars, a lot of people love the ft4 and ft7. Make sure you get one that has a…
  • I personally love My Fitness Trainer
  • Yes, entirely. I made the mistake of giving my everything one too may times. And from an age perspective, sorry to say the last one that did me over was 40. So don't use age as a safety net ladies, it might be a guide to maturity but it's a loose one and clearly you can get s**t on from a great height at any time :ohwell:
  • You're right. People are untrustworthy by nature (not just men), though I'm always optimistic to be proven wrong (and cynical enough to not be surprised when I'm not  ). As a species we are simply too self-involved.
  • Yes ok granted it wasn't a very productive input to the conversation, but in all seriousness it's my standpoint. I'm not religious, I HAVE been through several relationships, and I'm old enough and ugly enough to paint the picture. Fact is, the mythical romantic happy endings you see in films are just that.
  • I'm in the same boat, I work from 6 or 7 am til 6 pm also on my feet, then come home, take my dogs out.. and once I've gotten in, all I want to do is lounge on the sofa, I feel like lead. I work 6 days a week usually and it is very rare to have more than one day off in a row, so when I DO get these days off, all I have the…
  • I absolutely love it, it's tasty, low cal, good protein. What's not to love?! I also had a great recipe boomarked on here, low-cal keish made using cottage cheese, and it sounds amazing. I usually have a couple of spoonfuls a day along with my lunch salad. nom!
  • I *think* it's pretty good.. feel free to nose at my diary. As has been said however, my quota of fresh veg is fairly low. Cost is a factor unfortunately as well, but given what my eating habits were previously, I'm just happy to be able to have added as much as I already have, and to stay within calories pretty much…
  • well I stopped procrastinating and found myself one on ebay, and sniped it for a very good price, so I can look forward to hrm motivation once more soon, yay!
  • Not about this specifically but I do have chronic fatigue symptoms and general joint issues that are ongoing which of course never helps :)
  • yes I'm also pretty rubbish on the water front, I drink between 1 and maybe 3 glasses a day tops, maybe a pint when I exercise. I have always drunk very little :/ Rocket is a salad leaf :)
  • diet wise it's a slow and steady improvement lol (I know I drink too much for starters) but I do usually get enough protein from either meat/fish or eggs. I'm starting to think i might have to find a way to like / incorporate more vegetables. I eat a lot of rocket and carrots but otherwise am pretty limited on the veggie…
  • Sadly I think the answer is "you can't target where you want to lose the fat". And a week is definitely going to be too soon. Just keep going and don't stall on your plan, if you're staying within calories you should see a loss, and certainly swimming will help with toning (stroke wise I'd probably say breast stroke with…
  • Thanks :) It's during, and even when I'm not exercising it's like a constant fatigue / dull ache. Looks like I need to work on my muscles some!
  • I've got 2 (top and bottom), and they never get seen by anyone except me, but I still like them and haven't considered retiring them (I've let a lot of piercings go as I've gotten older but these 2 can stay). go for it!
  • I think I'm leaning towards getting an ft4 (my old one was the f4). Fingers crossed I can find a wrist unit on ebay seeing as my chest strap is all good!
  • Hmm looks like I'll be going back for another hrm then hehe. I must admit, the thing that attracted me to the fitbit was the sleep tracker and silent alarm (don't know why, just feels like it would be a "nicer" way of being woken?) It's probably going to be the polar ft4, or maybe f7.. but damn it's a lot of money when you…
  • I've sent an email but had seen mixed reviews on the quality of their replies - fingers crossed!
  • I think it hates me, it always wants to go back to the 9999 error. Looks like I'm going to have to trust mfps estimates on calorie expenditure! Certainly not got the readies to fork out for another one :( I'm wound up by this, better go jump on the cross trainer to work it out. And give me some calories to have dinner with…
  • I'm a smoker but I honestly rarely get cravings. I stopped for 2 years before starting again last year when things went a little awry in my life. My mother blames her weight gain on quitting but that's not what caused it, eating/drinking too much has done that. I now smoke 2-6 rollies a day in the evenings after work. My…
  • I drink almost every day (yeah I know but it's one of the few pleasures I have in life) - I just make sure I log it all and try to stay within my calorie allowance. Red wine is pretty good for this. Tonight my wine out me over by a bit so I jumped on my criss trainer for 10 minutes, it's a fair trade IMO!
  • True point that :) Am I the only person that sits about "feeling" motivated but can't physically move? As in I "think" healthy / exercise and feel better, as if I'm doing it, yet I'm not, and I don't find the energy or inclination to move.. perhaps this is just an effect of chronic fatigue / depression, who knows!?
  • I don't do breakfast, and yes I know this is bad because of not kick starting my metabolism and whatnot, but I just can't do it. I have tried, I've made myself eat a "proper" breakfast, just a go-ahead bar, just a cup of tea, I just can't do anything until late morning / lunch time. Saves on the calories the rest of the…
  • a good way to up calories but with good quality food and not having to feel stuffed is to use nuts and seeds :)
  • Kellehbeans, you may most definitely have my knee fat ;)
  • Mfp has me on 1200 and with the changes I've made some days that's hard to reach - I'm eating a lot more salad and have cut out excesses of chocolate, baked goods and ribena, and I'm less hungry than 2 months ago. But I have a fair bit to lose and am sedentary so as long as I'm not feeling hungry or weak i'll stay with it.…
