I am currently doing a TurboFire/ChaLEAN Extreme Hybrid and I LOVE it. I had already completed a 90 day TurboFire schedule, but that is mainly cardio. I knew I needed to add in the strength training component if I wanted to actually SEE changes. So I ordered the program and decided to do the hybrid because the one…

I have TurboFire and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I did the 90 day program...I got the deluxe version and it is absolutely my soulmate workout. It is THE ONLY, and I do mean this, THE ONE AND ONLY workout I have stuck to like glue and keep on coming back for more. When I had completed the 90 days I had lost 14 lbs and (remembering…

Oh this requires a bump....

Thanks ladies! With my current program I lift 3x a week and I do a mix of regular cardio and HIIT workouts on my cardio days via turbofire. Unless the day is just gorgeous then I will go for a run! :D I also play hackysack for at least an hour every night cause we are total dorks lol... I'm really looking forward to giving…

I have had my bodymedia for about 6 months and I absolutely love it. It has taught me a LOT about my habits and my metabolism, which is terrible lol. I've been working on getting my metabolism fired back up and the bodymedia is invaluable to that goal as I can see day by day how much I've improved it. As an aside, all my…

bump for later....might need to revisit this now that I've added weights to my routine...

I can't speak for insanity, but I do have TurboFire and I have to do it in a room with wall to wall carpeting. I had trouble getting my feet to slide and swivel on exercise that required it, and as a result, torqued my knee. An easy solution that I found was to use a large heavy duty chair mat. Works like a charm, and when…

So I did day three of the hybrid schedule, which meant my very first Burn Circuit 1. Oh my. I am gonna feel this in the morning!! :)
-
Don't know yet. Haven't gotten that far into the program.

Do you still need a schedule? I found one in the back of my TurboFire book. I think the beachbody site also has a bunch of the hybrid schedules available. Maybe you would find a triple workout hybrid there? That would be epic.

Wow!! I'm so excited to see so many people doing the workouts, either just one or as a hybrid! And a couple of you are just starting, like me. I just finished the 2nd day that had the ab burner and recharge. I thought it was a little odd that she followed day 1 of Stretch 40 with Recharge, which is more stretching. Then I…

I believe it is a 6 day a week program. But you can totally customize it. If you want to keep running as your cardio, just sub it in on the days it's on the calendar. I think the big thing to look out for is that you don't do any of the weight lifting days back to back. She has a dvd in the book, can't remember what it's…

So are you going to do straight TurboFire or do the hybrid of the two? The hybrid seems to lean very heavily on the Turbofire side, with the CE workouts replacing some of the resistance ones in the Turbo rotation. It looks awesome, I did day one yesterday, which is Stretch 40 from TF (LOVE THIS). Today is day two and it's…

TurboFire is a lot of fun. Serious cardio. Did you get any weights for CE yet? I found some selectable ones at Target that go from 5 to 25 in 5 lb increments. I'll be using those instead of the bands. Let me know when you start!

Bump Nobody? :ohwell:

My fiance is active duty Coast Guard, also served in the Marines.

Oh my yes! BUMP

It has happened to me too, but I did manage to reduce it somewhat simply by NOT using running shoes for any kind of plyometric exercise. I'm a TurboFire fan and I started it using my Brooks running shoes that I was fitted for. Since then, I've switched to cross trainers that are designed for side-to-side and ball of foot…

I think there is plenty of evidence out there in the forms of "study" after "study", articles, opinions and brochures ad nauseum. It is child's play to find something to support the argument either for or against the so-called starvation mode. For whatever it's worth, my opinion is that the actual term itself causes the…

I'm one of those types. I've had severe cramps since I got my period, when I was 11. To the point where I would spend a day in fetal position because my legs would not hold me up. Now that I'm 40, I've begun experiencing the delights of a wonky schedule. Where I was spotting everyday and cramping all the time. Ohhhh fun! I…

You aren't the only guy. I know at least 2! My boyfriend did the BM for a while just for kicks, (he is in fantastic shape) and he wanted to see how he was sleeping. He has since learned what he wanted and passed it on to his mom.
-
Haha it'll feel weird for a while but you'll adjust quick. The fitbits didn't come out, or at least I didn't discover them, until after I bought my BM...but I have a coworker that got one. He loves it. Cool that it doesn't require a subscription. But I gotta say, I'm a chart/data junkie and I LOVE the interface online with…

*GRIN* I was the SAME! Totally ecstatic when mine arrived. It does not matter when you put it on. It will start recording data from that moment so you might start with half a day or so, but after a week it won't matter. It knows when you are walking vs sitting. Even if you are typing and keeping your arm up to do so, it…

I have a BodyMedia which is pretty much the same thing as a bodybugg. There are major differences. HRM's are intended to be worn while you work out. They give you an idea of whether you are working within your target heart rate zones and many of them will give you an estimate on how many calories you burn. Depending on the…

LOL sorry. I'm not that elitist. I was trying to put things in layman's terms and explaining intensity based on my personal experience.
-
Insanity is a level up from P90X, intense and hardcore...so if you want to purchase one, start with P90X (which doesn't mean this one is a walk in the park)...or even Power 90, another offering from Beachbody.

Got it! Thanks Amber! :D

Hi Friend!! :D Thanks! I don't feel 40...I think that's important. We are starting to do more together. I couldn't really keep up with them before. We also have his 13 year old in the mix. We just took up snowboarding Saturday. My son and I did the learn how class and then he dusted me on the slopes lol! I got some…

I've only been a member for a few days too, but my diary is open to the world. Or at least MFP :). I believe that accountability is key in this! I'll shoot you a friend request! I'm not perfect, but I log all my blunders as well as my triumphs. Each day is a new day.
