  • One thing I've always LOVED on my visits to the US (I don't know if it's common everywhere) is that you clap at the end of films in a cinema/theater. I was so surprised the first time, but I really liked the atmosphere. No, you're not applauding anyone - the director isn't in the room, nor are the actors - but I really…
  • I'm a slow one. I've lost just over 1lb per month so far, and that's perfect for me. I'm always impressed seeing people who lose lots of weight in a shorter amount of time, but ultimately my goal is to be healthy, consistent and practical - for me, that means not spending hours every day exercising, not being perfect with…
  • My calves. They've always shown muscle quite clearly, even when I was obese. Since I got into running they've got a really great shape to them. Very happy with them. Not incredibly defined, still rounded, but clearly athletic.
  • BBQ first, then inside for Eurovision. Perfect. Only problem is, my laptop has only 4 hours of battery left.
  • To me, it does just sound like a very mild Irish accent, like someone who's traveled a bit and lost a lot of their natural accent. Or, never had much of one to start. Only basing this on a quick YouTube video, though - I've never watched the show.
  • Way to go! These are my stats so far: 20th Feb - First Run 12th April - First Non-Stop Mile (11m 33s) 21st April - First Non-Stop Two Miles (24m 42s) 30th April - First Non-Stop 5k (39m 28s) 14th May - 5k PB Update (36m 34s) I've been ill since mid-May, so haven't done any running since. No idea how I'll be when I go back…

  • Mine was 74bpm when I first got a HRM (and I'd been living healthy for over a year then, so I have no idea what it was when I started). I got it down to 64bpm. I've been fully sedentary for the past few weeks due to illness - I kind of feel like I've lost ALL my fitness and it will be back up, but I doubt that really. I…
  • I couldn't do it. Especially not to start out. When I first decided to become healthy, I was eating around 4000 calories a day, all of which were junk. I didn't know HOW to listen to my body. Now, I do understand my body but still can't imagine trusting it. It still craves pizza regularly, and one medium pizza (which I…
  • Based on my ticker (my weight is fluctuating a bit at the moment as I'm ill and haven't been able to work out in a few weeks): 20lbs lost in...*counts* 18 months.
  • Very much looking forward to the final tomorrow. Is this now the official Eurovision 2012 thread? Would love to chat live.
  • Lots of ghost experiences. There's been another thread on this in the past few days. No other paranormal experiences here, though. I kept wanting to visit a psychic for fun when I was at university. I didn't believe in his ability, but he was called Bear and ran a little shop down a creepy, narrow cobbled alley. Was…

  • I always turn to pizza when I'm planning on really indulging. It's the one meal I always know I'll want, and different toppings just seem to create a whole different meal, so I never get bored. Had a ham and mushroom pizza lately? That's ok, it's time for a pepperoni instead!
  • I'd say you can definitely be ready. I weigh 153lbs. Earlier this year I went from never running at all to doing regular 5ks in just over two months. I didn't do any kind of programme, but of course C25K is highly recommended by many. I also just went straight to running outside. Less monotonous, which I think would help…
  • I wear: Karrimor running top and capris MoreMile socks Asics Gel shoes A cheap wristband with my phone and Endomondo app Sansa Clip MP3 Player (this would be removed if I wasn't running in a well-known neighbourhood and feeling totally safe) Pulse Sonic HRM Shock Absorber Sports Bra No water for me. Only doing 5ks so far,…
  • I use Shock Absorber. Fantastic sports bra.
  • Seriously? Are these yours? I used to love my Pez dispensers. I recognise some there that I used to have. I'll always miss my Simba one - do you have Simba?
  • The grandfather?
  • I'd let them. They're a human being, not my possession. I see my fiance being the stricter parent, though I think he thinks I will be. He asked the other day: "You know you plan on giving our kids pocket money for doing their homework? Say there was a fairground in town, would you expect them to spend their pocket money on…
  • I only watch the final, so I've seen none of it so far - have only heard our (UK) entry, and a picture of Jedward. From the limited experience I've had so far, things can only get better.
  • I'm going to be all boring and serious and say, 'I love you'.
  • 4/7 that I actually know about. Don't know my blood pressure or cholesterol, and I don't have lean body mass.
  • I'll log an intense clean, if I ever do one. It's rare I do any housework at all! Otherwise, just dedicated exercise and walks over 15 minutes in length.
  • Nice work! On the weight loss, not the picture-fixing. Ok, that too.
  • OMG! You lost so much weight you disappeared!
  • True. Now, if only you could see that the carpet is a much richer red than it appears there, the walls are mint green and the curtains are green, red and yellow. In fact, here's our lounge looking festive. We brought the tree and decorations from our old house when we moved in last year - we put them up in December, and…
  • I don't have a picture of me at my first prom, aged 16. I had long brown hair back then (like now), wore a lilac dress but had one arm tanned and one arm white. My arm was removed from a cast a few hours before my prom, and having spent all day in the sun at school it really showed up. Here's me at the later prom - 18…
  • I had a think, and I came up with this. Nobody else in the world has this. It's one of a kind:
  • I collect Cherished Teddies figurines, Mega Drive/Genesis and Master System games.
