From Oak Creek, WI and always happy to have new active friends on MFP from Wisconsin. Been on here since 2012 when I lost a lot. Gained about 20 back last year so time to lose that and then some.

Definitely Yay! I love double IPAs and bourbon barrel imperial stouts!

I too feel recharged for spring. I've dealt the entire winter rehabbing a back/piriformis injury and recently returned from a three day vacation where I hiked 33 miles and my body held up much better than expected. After a day of rest I started walking a lunch time again though a bit shorter than normal since this weather…

Best of luck, I see you are up to 11 pounds lost now. I'm from Milwaukee as well and have been at this a long time but never give up. Feel free to add me. Steve

I happened to be in Grand Rapids when it was released and was lucky to come away with four 4-packs of it. They sell it off a bottle at a time for $6 in Milwaukee and even then it's hard to get. Tonight one of the local bars is tapping it so I'm heading out for a snifter or two before ending the night on a nice IPA chaser.

Best of luck from a born and raised Wisconsinite! I've been at this a long time but I still have a long ways to go.

Michigan craft beer sounds like a plan. Fresh Bell's Hopslam with some Founders Backwoods *kitten* and some stuff tossed in from Greenbush, Vivant or Dark Horse to round it out.
-
The Beer Dabbler sounds like a great time! I'm headed to Central Waters Anniversary this weekend, should be lots of bourbon barrel stouts flowing.

I signed up for it a few years ago but just started using it a bit in December. My username is esjaygee

Good luck on home brewing. I've done it a few times and it's always hit or miss. Thankfully Mississippi finally allowed people to homebrew!

The challenge returns this year and now involves four communities and is open to anyone in the Milwaukee area and they are really focusing on fitness this year. There are lots of free fitness events where you can check out different gyms and exercise types, equipment, etc in the Milwaukee area. There will be weekly events…

Weyerbacher's pumpkin beer is probably my favorite with Summit Pumpkin Porter, Dogfish head and Southern Tier closely behind. Last fall Lakefront made a pumpkin infused Fuel café stout that was excellent, I'm hoping to find a firkin or two of that this fall.

Sounds like a blast! I went there in March and really liked Kuhnhenn and DragonMead and though Bastone was a hidden gem. If you're into Mead, B Nektar is spectacular.

I'm from Oak Creek and like to have friends from the Badger/Dairy state. Feel free to add me. Steve

New Glarus is building a huge sour beer cellar and should be coming out with a lot of sour beers in the future. They've come out with a few but they are usually only available at the brewery. I've yet to try the Wild Sour Ale but really like Enigma which pops up from time to time in the Thumbprint series.

20 minutes, lucky you! I beercation a lot to Michigan, mainly to Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. I keep meaning to head east and hit up Jolly Pumpkin. I'm not sure how far that is from Lansing, but I want to head there to check out the new HopCat, which will have 100 beers on tap. They are having a tap takeover of all 100 taps…

While IPAs are definitely my favorite style, I do like sours. I had a couple decent ones at the Great Taste on Saturday including a Bourbon Barrel aged sour gruit that was very tasty. I like the stuff from Jolly Pumpkin and Duchesse de Bourgogne is probably the one I drink the most. I'm always happy to see them on tap at a…

I love the crazy stuff DFH does. I was sad when they pulled out of Wisconsin a few years ago but they'll be back later this year and I can get my Palo Santo Marron fix. I really liked Midas Touch and Chateau Jiahu from the ancient ales series. Most of them aren't hoppy at all since hops weren't used in brewing in ancient…

Born and raised and currently living in Oak Creek. Feel free to send me a friend request, I like having Wisconsin friends as well!

That food sounds delish. I was suppose to go yesterday but unfortunately life got in the way. I guess I probably saved at least a half pound worth of calories by not going but still.. peanut butter anything and fried cheese, yum!

I could use a few more male friends on here as well - Steve

I wasn't going to drink tonight, but I think it's against the rules to not have one IPA on IPA day.

My favorite bar and #1 hangout is Burnhearts in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Only 24 tap beers but they do an amazing job with them as they often have several taps filled with beers I never see anywhere else. Tonight they'll be tapping Founders Doom!! Friendly staff, decent prices and while they don't serve food, you can bring in…

I'll admit I'd probably like that beer as I like fruit stouts - Bells Cherry Stout, Dark Horse Tres (blueberry stout) and Saugatuck Neopolitan Stout (strawberry/chocolate/vanilla) are among my favorite beers. My least favorite beers are any of the fizzy yellow lagers out there, though my lowest ever rating of 0.5 on Rate…

I got up at 5am yesterday and drove to Madison to get in line for Great Taste of the Midwest tickets. The tickets went on sale at noon and I was in line by 7:30 and was about 1/2 hour too late to get tickets. Damn, I've gone three of the last four years and was hoping to go again this year. I'm mailing in for the ticket…

I'm not an "Ohio" beer lover, but I do love some Ohio beer. I do like Great Lakes, especially Alchemy Hour and Lake Erie Monster. I've just started trying Hoppin' Frog. Had Barrel aged B.O.R.I.S. during beer week, that was excellent! :drinker: My favorite city to go is Grand Rapids since they seem to add a new brewpub…

I'd be interested in trading. I have access to most of the Founders and Three Floyds stuff and I'd love to try Cigar City and other tasty beers that aren't distributed in the Midwest.

Nice collection! I have a pint glass collection that's growing out of control - I buy one from every brewpub/brewery I visit. I just took all of my Michigan glasses from the cupboard and lined the perimeter shelf of my condo with them to make room in my cupboard for all the ones I have. And now I just got 16 new pint…

I don't have a particular theme song, more like a them group - They Might Be Giants. Their quirky, cerebral, corny and all-over-the-map musical style suits me to a T. I often listen to them while stretching, walking or working out.

I love craft beer and it's perhaps my biggest hobby. I take a lot of day-trips and extended weekend trips just to try new beers I haven't had before - especially to Beer City, USA Grand Rapids, MI and Madison, WI. I'm a hophead and prefer IPAs and double IPAs but enjoy trying everything. I really like experimental brews…
