Time & Consistency, that's all I can say! Please don't be discouraged! I am 5'2" and pear shaped.. and started @ 190lbs!!! I'm now down 50lbs... a whole YEAR later... yes the trackers say one thing but your body will do what it needs to in the time frame needed.. please just hang in there!

BUMP! Sounds interesting where did you hear of this?

I agree... the more lean muscle mass you have (which you gain through strength training) the more fat loss you will experience.. just because you may be shrinking in size and losing weight doesn't necessarily mean the "fat" is gone... in turn creating a "loose skin" effect and so forth..

This is an awesome post... made my day!! Glad you are at least hanging in there and doing something!! (Even if the hot blonde is a motivator... we all need one!) :blushing:

I say push-ups, push-ups, push-ups!! I've noticed a tremendous difference... I started doing 30 a day.. 10 push ups 3x a day is what does it for me!

Ok... I recently (like 4 years ago) had a breast augmentation and went threw hell and back trying to figure this out.. so I totally understand where you are coming from this is the most accurate way I have found of measuring and will usually get you in a bra that can just be manipulated here or there with tightening the…

Your lungs and heart are just like any other muscle in your body.. you have to train in order to build up endurance. 6.0 mph is a pretty good pace depending on how tall you are... I'm only 5'2" and on a treadmill my max run (like an all out sprint) is 6.2 mph... maybe try decreasing your speed/pace to start out and once…

I'm 5'2" @ 155 lbs., worked my way down from 189 lbs. after having my daughter... my goal is 125 lbs. Welcome my friend!! Add me if you'd like some support!

I thought it was only for Xbox... thanks for the info (guess I should pay closer attention to the commercials).. I'm headed out to buy one now, always wanted to try it!!

I totally agree with this statement! But I do believe HIIT training can give you an excellent combination of both worlds, weight lifting for the metabolic effect and cardio burst for your heart!! It's one of my favorite ways to train! :blushing:

Bump!! I'm usually over by like 350-400 Cals!! I know something isn't right either.... I've been taking an average of what MFP says and my HRM says... not sure if that's the way to go, I too would love more info on this topic!!

I was off all last week! I feel your pain and frustration!! I actually decided while I was on vacation to try and stick to my "usual routine" I woke up at 6am just as if I was going to work, made my breakfast, tried to keep myself busy until my usual snack time and yada, yada, yada.... last Sunday was my birthday, so of…

For safety reasons right now with the horrible heat wave over the country (some places worse than others depending where you are in the nation).. I'd recommend finding a treadmill, run indoors.. Is there a local gym you can attend? I've found some gyms also have an indoor track...It is definitely not the same experience as…

Haha, I'd reply, "You look the same, what aren't you doing!?"

Ha! I'd reply... You look the same! What AREN'T you doing??

You are dead on with the right and wrong ways to compliment someone who's lost X amount of weight!! In fact my boss "complimented" me the other day saying... "Oh! You look so skinny in this picture what happened to last years?" WTF? Even if it's true.. please don't say anything in front of the whole staff at the…

No longer an NSV virgin... go you!! :flowerforyou:

You mentioned the word "pain"... are you in pain or just more sore than usual? If you are more sore than usual then yes you are probably just ready for your rest week to let your muscles re-build.. if you are in pain, I'd pin point where exactly... is it your knee, a quad muscle, etc. and find what you may be doing to…

I am a personal trainer.. for one, I would NEVER treat a potential client the way this particular trainer has done to you.. I don't understand his tactics by any means, but I also feel women who feel like they need or want a trainer should try to find another woman to train them, they are more in tune to what and how…

I have never had the surgery so I am really not one to give an opinion... however, I do have a friend who had the surgery and looks amazing... He went from 409lbs at his biggest to 220lbs now, I do know the doctor asked him to lose some weight on his own first to show a serious step toward the surgery and know that it is a…
