1480 is likely around your BMR. You'd burn that much in a coma. Just sitting around all day your TDEE is likely around 1770, so you're already at a deficit before any exercise calories. You're effectively netting around 1200 before any formal exercise. Just sayin'.

By no stretch of the imagination is 200 calories a "meal." That's what each of your six "meals" would have if you eat 1200 calories in six "meals." You are eating six snacks a day.

It is providing inadequate nutrition to build muscle and a healthy body. That's the definition of starvation.

You can lift weights without putting "pressure" on your knees. A licensed physical therapist can show you what exercises are safe for your knees. Also, bicycling and swimming are great cardio that don't damage the knees. How are you going to get "built up" unless you exercise? In this magical future your knees will only be…

There is nothing "important" about breakfast. If you don't want to eat it--don't. There is nothing magical about what time of day you eat.

It doesn't matter if "starvation mode" exists or not. Eating 500 cal/day is a bad idea, as is losing 3-4 pounds/week. And BTW, any water you retain during menstruation isn't weight you have "to lose again." It's not fat, it's water, and you'll pee it out without effort or cutting calories as soon as your period ends.
-
You're not likely to reach the goal you've set--losing 11 pounds by July--without exercise. There's just not enough time and you can't create a big enough deficit. And even if you could, it wouldn't be a good idea to lose at that rate. And without exercise you absolutely won't look like your profile pic. That girl works…

It looks to me like the vast majority are well on their way to being just as big as they started out. Fads, even reality show fads, don't make permanent changes, and are more likely than not to fail. If a small percentage succeed, we all think we'll be in that small percentage, but in reality, most of us will be in the…

With all due respect, I don't believe you. It's really unhealthy psychologically, not to mention nearly impossible, to "not once" exceed one's allotted calories. HOWEVER, it's possible for more than one method of weight loss to be workable, so even if you have "never eaten 1 calorie back from exercise" it's still possible,…

Never went to prom. The night of senior prom, my three best friends and I went to see a movie. I believe that was the night we saw "Star Wars." What later became known as "Episode IV."

What is right is whatever is best for you. Try it both ways, and continue to do whatever is best for you.
-
Uhh...that's just crazy. There is no scientific evidence that it matters what time you eat anything. None what-so-ever.
-
Cool, bro.
-
As long as you are within your calories and macros, it doesn't matter what time you eat anything.
-
There's nothing particularly good about it either.

All the water and peppermint tea I want?!? Really!?! Such bounty! OP-- Really! Take the advice given over and over. Eat a good, lowered calorie, healthy diet and exercise. Really. Long term, you'll be glad you did. There is no such thing as a cleanse.

The "detoxification purpose?" What is that? Your body detoxes itself quite nicely, and you can eat whatever you want while it does so. There is nothing at all healthy about living on herbal tea, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. Nothing.

Eating 1200, or netting 1200? Eating 1200 and doing a lot of exercise is counterproductive. If you mean you ate 1700 on Monday, 2000 on Tuesday, 2100 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and 2200 on Saturday, then you should be losing about a pound to a pound and a half a week, which it looks like you are. You're barely in…

One needn't have anything to hide to believe in privacy. NOTHING in my online life is "public" because privacy is a value. There is much danger in the idea that only people with things to hide value privacy. How do you like your FitBit? I've used one for two years--much longer than it's been supported by MFP. I'm just now…

Do you get enough sleep? Despite all the people telling you they thrive on four or five hours, most all adults need 7 ~ 8 hours/night to be healthy. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/lack-of-sleep/AN02065

I'm sure she means oil. It's a new fad. People keep telling me it's a miracle cure for whatever ails you, and people keep telling me it'll cure my cancer. Coconut oil is also often used in oil pulling, also for "health benefits."

I think part of "owning up to your responsibility" is owning up to the fact that you are in school and unemployed. The BEST thing you could do for your child would be to give him/her up for adoption by a couple who are emotionally and financially prepared to be parents. THAT would be being the "best mom you can be" at this…

Your daughter is a lucky girl to be taught independence!

Dutch?!? When do you figure it's your turn to pay for both of you? Being a gentleman is great, but if you ask him out, you should be prepared to pay. For BOTH of you. Why should we be treated equally if we don't act like equals?
-
Whoever asks the other one out, pays. Gay couples have always known this, because we don't have gender to fall back on. Good manners says if you ask someone else out, you're the host and you pay.

But Ben & Jerry's is so much more worth it. Breyers--icky. I'd rather have half the Ben & Jerry's...

Uh...uh...uh...uh...I WANT!!! Blueberry maple? Mmmmmmmmm.......... BTW, did it win?

Yesterday, twist cone at Dairy Queen.

I think that's what should be the concern, but the question was about how to get him to work out...
