It sounds like you've got a lot on your plate. It also sounds like you are making some steps in the right direction but still feeling overwhelmed. I applaud you for getting medication to help you with your depression. I firmly believe that only those who have experienced depression can truly understand how debilitating it…

It will work the muscles a bit differently, but it's still definitely good for you. Plus not having a sore back/butt after a ride is a definite plus!

Any time there is a mental/emotional illness or problem, these type of people can come out of the wood work. The issues is that these types of things aren't visible, so people that haven't experienced them or were able to recover easily will invariably have false assumptions about what is involved for everyone else.…

Awareness: Many people simply aren't aware of how their food and activity choices are affecting their weight. Whether this is due to their upbringing, turning a blind eye, not having time to think about it, etc. they still lack the awareness to be able to make appropriate changes. Money: The unfortunate truth is that it is…

Yup. While trying to get pregnant my GP just recommended taking a OTC prenatal vitamin, but once I was pregnant and started seeing an OB he prescribed a prenatal vitamin. It was filled by the pharmacy and not with an OTC.

For those of you annoyed with newbies (or even oldies) that don't bother with the search function, you can always have fun with www.letmegooglethatforyou.com. For example: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=search+button+site%3Awww.myfitnesspal.com Oh and I enjoy my wine (or even whine) from time to time too!

Thanks for mentioning getting a HRM on eBay. I just found a Polar FT7 for a good price.

You might want to see if your Library has a copy of Strong Women Stay Slim. There are several exercises in the book, all of which can be done at home. I believe it was also there that I read about using common household objects like a can of soup as a weight.

You might want to try patting a little baby powder in the area to help reduce friction. I find that helps with chaffing in other areas.

I have Major/Chronic Depression and have probably been suffering from it since childhood, even though it was only diagnosed a few years ago. Thankfully I have a wonderful support group of friends (from Work, Church and Hobby Focused Groups), a great Counselor and Doctor who keep me on track with medication and counseling,…

I telecommute, so I work from home most of the time. A couple of things that help me are 1. I have a son I have to get off to school, so I have to get dressed and moving. 2. I have set hours that I have to work, so I know exactly when I have to start and end. I am NOT a morning person, so getting up extra early to work out…

Okay. The formula is (lean body weight)/(1-0.23). This would give you a total weight of about 127lbs.

I looked into this last week. After reading the reviews, I've decided against buying one. The concept is good, but there seems to be a lot of quality issues. And unfortunately these issues are showing up in the more recent reviews, not just older ones. I'm think that I'll spring for a HRM instead if I end up picking up a…

Perhaps you could try to look at this way. All that dancing you've been doing is building nice lean muscle which is allowing you to continue to slim down. This means that you ARE making progress in the right direction even though the number that you want to see continue to move isn't currently the where you are making the…

Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of celery. I've never liked the stringiness of it. When I was a kid I'd end up licking the peanut butter and raisins off the celery. Might have to try it with either carrots or bananas instead to see if I like them that way.

Some things that can make a big difference when brewing tea. 1. Bagged tea tends to be made from poorer quality tea leaves when compared to loose leaf teas. 2. When using loose leaf teas, don't pack them into a tiny tea ball. They need room to spread out to brew properly. 3. Use water that is the correct temperature, if…

That is the amount that you have remaining to eat for the day to meet your goal. If you go over, then it will turn into a red negative number.

Most fast food restaurants are starting to carry some healthier options due to the combination of not being able to put toys in kids meals without the options and increased demand from people who are trying to eat healthier. For instance from McDonalds you could get a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Apple Slices and water.

I've never had diet throw mine off before, just stress.

The best prenatal vitamins are the ones prescribed by a doctor.

Over filled is fine. The recommendation is _at least_ 8 cups of water each day. I've only been tracking pure water in the water counter. I list tea in with the food log, even though it doesn't actually have any calories.

As the others have said, it's perfectly normal to have your weight fluctuate up to 5lbs over the course of a day. That's the nice thing about entering your weight on this site, it gives you a chart of your weight allowing you to see the overall trend of weight loss, maintenance, or gain.

I record what I eat afterwards. Whenever possible I log it right after I eat so that I get immediate feed back on where I'm at with my goal for the day. I've definitely been paying a lot more attention to labels and find myself putting things back on the shelf that I wouldn't have thought twice about buying for a snack.…

If you don't want to wait to let the water cool down before brewing, another trick is to put in an ice cube (more if you're making a potful) and pour the water over the ice cube. This keeps the tea from getting scorched (producing a foul flavor) and bring the water down to the correct brewing temperature.

When you view a member's profile (which you can do by viewing the drop down menu under their name) you will see a button to the right of their picture that allows you to request to become their friend. If they accept the request then you are listed as friends in your friends list.

I would recommend ordering what you really want and just asking the waiter to put half in a to go box right away. If you and your hubby like the same desserts, you could split one that sounds good to both of you. If not take half of the dessert home too. This way you get to enjoy the meal (both the first time and the…
