Unfortunately change has to come from within oneself. I have discovered first hand with myself as well as overweight loved ones in my life. You can't force someone into doing something they are not ready for. Trust me I get the situation you are in, I am in a similar one now. I have a loved one who gets very defensive when…

If you read her profile you will realize that is not her daughter in the picture ;)

I tell myself "This is easy! You can do this AAALLLLLLLLLL DAY!!!" then I push myself even harder and make myself smile real big  Yes I'm crazy and maybe a bit sadistic. muahahahahahaha

I'll just leave this here for the OP: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/560459-stronglifts-5x5-summary

In order for the Stronglifts program to work you have to actually DO it. Like others have said, it's quite clear you have not done it.

I LOVE this post. This is so awesome!! Congrats to you!! I've followed your progress since you started and I am just awestruck. You are a serious inspiration and a huge asset to MFP! Thanks so much for sharing your story. I have enjoyed every update from you and I was so excited to see this. Keep on being awesome!!…

Here is a good picture of proper squat form (from Mark Rippetoes Starting Strength) with the person going slightly below parallel. Obviously you won't be doing barbell squats right now with your health issues but when you do bodyweight squats you should be going below parallel to protect your knees. I was just using this…

FALSE. Squats are not bad for your knees, that is a total myth. It only hurts your knees if you do quarter squats. You need to squat to parallel or below parallel and your knees will be fine. They are actually a knee strengthening exercise when done correctly.

Yeah, that's only about 700 calories. 1200 is the bare minimum you should be eating. Either set your MFP calorie goal to lose 1 lb/week (and eat back most exercise cals) or go to http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ to figure out an appropriate calorie goal.

Not only are you rude and bossy, you also can't do math.

Yet another poor young girl who has mistaken this for myanapal.com I can tell she's from the pro-ana crowd because of all those silly diets she listed off on top of this stupid water fasting thread. How do I know? I used to be thick into that about 10 years ago. I know all the buzz words, and her lingo is full of them. I…

or maybe he's not drinking enough water!!! You need to be drinking at least 500 gallons per day to lose!

1. Meal timing is irrelevant. If there is a calorie deficit weight loss will occur. 2. You can't build new muscle in a calorie deficit. You need to eat at a surplus and lift heavy weights for that to occur. You can have strength gains, but its not probable if he is severely under eating at 1000-1200 cals. 3. Comparing…

I have enjoyed reading this thread immensely. I'm still an amateur at exercise so planks are still challenging to me. But its been interesting to look ahead to see what I can move onto when I get stronger. I may have also enjoyed looking at the results all of these exercises. Keep up the good work guys :blushing:…

This is a really great thread and you've gotten so many great responses. I love it. Last year I could have written your post. I also lost someone really close to me. I began questioning life and started wondering "why bother". Well for me it is ultimately to live the best life possible. That means minimal doctor visits,…

I can't speak for anyone else, but I will speak for myself. Forgive me, but I haven't read through all of the responses so far. I tried, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it as it's too painful for me to think about right now. I know there are so many reasons as to why people gain the weight back, but here is my…

Okay so yesterday your complaint was "people just need to answer my question and not give me any off topic advice because I didn't ask for it". Now today, you say you really don't see a problem with people sharing their experiences. So which is it? jonnythan has been the most helpful and understanding out of this whole…
