Where are your calories coming from? Protein, carbs, fats? My nutritionist had me up my protein and decrease my carbs. I've been able to drop about a pound a week. I looked at your profile, and saw you are a military wife (one of the unsung heros in my book!) If you are living on base, check your resources there for…

To change your goal calories start out on your home page click the tab that says "Goals" towards the middle center of the page there should be a tab that says "Change Goals" click the line that says "Custom" then continue. This should take you to goal calories page. I recently changed my to reflect higher protein intake as…

My physician wants me to take fish oil for the cardiovasular help. My dad died of a heart attack at age 56, my mother and her mother both had hypertension. (My parents couldn't just pass on great antiques???) I take 4 tablets daily, 2 with breakfast, 2 at bedtime. Bottom line, if your physician is okay with the…

I was also confused. I was eating my correct amount of calories to lose weight but nothing ever came off. I made an appointment to see a nutritionist. I brought in a copy of my food journal. She told me to up my proteins, veggie and fruit. We also went over serving sizes and the newer "Carb Exchange". In 2 months I've…

You've gotten a LOT of great advice, and you are facing this with great humor. THANK YOU FOR THE SMILES!!! I've found that for me gradual changes work best. I gave up soda pop 2+ years ago. I have an occasional rum and diet. It was tough at first, but it got easier with each sucess. Now the big change has been my diet.…

If you feel you NEED to give up alcohol, then by all means, do so. The "slippery slope" here is when you get to your goal weight, then throw out all of the changes you made and go back to all those things you quit - because "you deserve them". I try not to deprive myself of anything I ENJOY consuming. I am mindful of the…

Let me know if you find one. I was searching awhile back for one without success. I was lead to believe that these are 2 different functionalities and therefore not compatiable. I hope I am wrong (or misunderstood), and if I am PLEASE let me know.

Carrots, Celery, Peppers (all colors), sweet peas, cucumbers, tomatos (all colors and sizes), jicama and radishes are usual eat raw stand bys. Now that the weather is turning a bit cooler (at least here in Minnesota), this allows for all kinds of cooked veggies. Soups, baked regular potatoes and sweet potatoes, beets,…

I've got a great boss who lets me use the ball. It took a little bit to get used to it. (6-8 hours is a lot of sitting!) I haven't had any real drop in weight using it, but I also don't really do a lot of exercising with it either. It does allow me to "fidget" more than when I use a regular office chair. I want to believe…

What I do is review what I am eating, then I look to what I need to add. I'm always short on protein, so I make an effort to boost that food group. The other thing that you may need to look at is serving sizes when you are adding your calories. If the serving size stated is 1/2 of a cup, are you really eating that amount?…

Thanks for all of the replies! I work 10 miles from my home, on dangerous roads so I either drive or ride my motorcycle in. I have done the riding a bike into work when I had the option of safe riding. My boss "prefers" that I don't leave the office during the day, and I have been pretty good about that. So, adding a few…

Apples will turn brown due to oxygen. To prevent this, I was taught to sprinkle them with a little OJ or lemon juice. The acid prevents the discoloration. I would imagine lime juice would work as well. If you don't want (or have) the juices on hand, then just wait a bit longer to cut the apple to put it in the salad. Hope…

I have to say go for the bike. I have a cheap bike from Target, and it's just not as comfortable of a ride as I would like. If I had the extra cash, I would have gone for the upgrade. I'd save the tat until I got to my body goal. Just an opinion
