My calorie goal is set at 1300 (1300 something I don't remember for sure). I am now starting Jillian Michales 30 DS and finding that I NOW need to eat more. I am hungrier than I was before when I wasn't working out as much. THEREFORE, I am upping my calorie goal a bit. But not by a lot. I could add in just more vegetables…

No 1200 is NOT starving. If you have a low activity lifestyle you don't need much more than 1200! If someone is working out on a regular basis, yes they should up their calories. But, starving is far from 1200 calories... there are some people who ARE starving, who would DIE for 1200 calories.

I did day 2 last night, and it was a little easier on my knees :-) I am going to keep at it, I hate giving up on something! I am sure that if I do the "modified" version of the moves that are hard on the knees for a few times, my knees will start to get used to it, and I will eventually be able to do the full moves :-D

Yes, crunches are not all that great. Planks do way more for you! I got nice results on my abs by backing off on sugar, doing planks, and holding my core tight (suck in your abs) while I work out!

I have a v shaped scar on my leg from where I chopped it open with a hatchet when I was in 4th grade. Lied about how it happened so I didn't go to the hospital or anything! Just a couple of bandaids and right back at hacking down those little baby trees.... bad kid! LOL!

I have experienced this as well. I did a week of 15 g or less sugar each day, as an eye opener of how much sugar we normally eat. My plan was to go up to the normal recommended 20 g or less per day, and one day I ate a bunch of crap, and was terribly sick the next. I am still recovering.

The fact that you can't spot reduce is correct. But one other thing that helps, keep your abs and core engaged as you work out on ANYTHING>>>> arms, legs, thighs, back, ANYTHING. I did a challenge for a week of only 15 g or less of sugar per day. This is BELOW the reccomended 20 g per day for women.
