As far as "starvation mode" I think it's mostly BS to be honest (at least in how people throw the term around on MFP). Not eating enough won't make you gain weight, can't make something out of nothing, if anything it would just slow ya down a bit after a week of not eating enough. Maybe it's WHAT you're eating, a lot of sweets or carbs instead of lean protein and veggies will do that for you, processed foods and high sodium, etc.

I figured out that my night eating was related to boredom. Do you have any, or would you want to, take up a hobby that involves your hands but allows you to sorta zone to watch tv, listen to the radio, etc. I crochet which keeps my hands busy and out of the chip bag :)

I'm from the DC area so of course I'm a Skins fan :) I still sorta think they'll lose but I'm not a fair-weather fan! If the Redskins lose by more than 7 then I'll walk/jog and extra mile a day for as many days as points they lose by :) That should help me! If the giants lose...guess I'll order wings and celebrate ;)…

Nah! Save your hands and wear the gloves! I have to wear them when I use the rowing machine, I ended up with blisters and then figured that having nice hands was more important than what people thought at the gym :)

Yep, just talk about it out of earshot, hopefully if the parents have noticed enough to talk about it then they're talking about ways to help the kid fix the issues and get healthy...maybe use a new word like "fluffy" so the kid doesn't know what you're talking about...

Steamed chicken and vegetables! Very good and filling for few calories (get sauce on side) then ask if you can substitute brown rice for white (most restaurants have that option).

I can't give up on the Redskins...I have pajama bottoms, coffee mugs, and jerseys so there would be too much investment with no return. EVENTUALLY they have to get better...right? RIGHT? *sobbing into my keyboard*

Strange, only gives me the "you may not be eating enough calories" message when I eat fewer than 1200 calories, not when I just net fewer.
