  • http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/tasty-breaded-seitan/Detail.aspx in that recipe the seitan is "breaded" with nutritional yeast and some other spices. i havent tried THIS recipe but i have had seitan breaded this way at a vegan restaurant in my town and it was super yummy. personally i think it should always be paired with…
  • it CAN take up to a week though so i would give it a week or so (it takes a little longer for some people). good luck!
  • yeah some people are naturally. i could probably get to that at my hight and small frame and still be healthy. to someone who is really tall and has a larger frame, no its not healthy. but yes for some girls that IS the norm. it just depends on body makeup. (and the place that you buy the clothes at. different brands run…
  • i've been veg all my life (my mom is veg and has been since before i was born) and i have an open diary. feel free to check out what i eat :)
  • i've asked for a heart rate monitor/pedometer/calorie counter for my bday/xmas. pretty sure i'm gonna get it too since i havent asked for much other than that and a teapot and tea kettle.
  • i did write out the plot XD havent written it out as a story yet, i have other writing projects to work on XD
  • sick dreams are either the best or the worst! i once dreamed up an entire novel idea when i had a REALLY bad flu. it felt like the dream went on for years but it was only five hours.
  • there's a free dream interpreting site called freedreaminterpretationonline.com. the guy's not bad, he interpreted this weird dream i had about being a Malayan Sun Bear (yes my brain is a WEIRD place) i kind of want to know what it means that i am NEVER fat in my dreams. i dont have the highest self esteem so i would think…
  • the only problem is that trader joes is not in many places. there is no trader joes where i live. :c i wish there was, i love that store too.
  • well i live in Austin TX so we have the GINORMOUS world HQ of the store (its not the biggest store they have though, i think that one is in Paris and is two stories :noway: ) aaaaanyway! Whole Foods is RAD! i love that place (except that by the time i'm done i'm exhausted lol such a huge store! i guess i'm getting my…
  • celery and hummus! satisfying crunch and delicious flavor (besides if you've got fresh crunchy celery you dont have to count it on your food diary because crunching it uses more calories than it has in it!)
  • you can probably make the chex mix 1) more delicious and 2) better for you (and whoever is recieving your food gifts!) if you make it yourself! its not hard just a little time consuming. the stuff in bags generally has MSG in it or just a TON of sodium. besides i've ALWAYS prefered the taste of the homemade kind :)
  • here here! i'm with you on this, i may use stevia in some of the cookies i make but the things that you cant really sub anything for i'm not worrying about. just adding extra exercise on if i eat them.
  • one of my suggestions there has no chemicals in it. and there are margarines with no hydrogenated oils in them. look stuff up before you dis them all :)
  • use a sugar sub in your cookies like splenda or stevia in the raw. cuts down the sugar and the calories quite a bit. not super healthy still but they will be healthier!
  • welcome Mandy! this site is great! and the people here are super nice! good luck to you on your weight loss journey! :D
  • really there's no egg nog in the UK!? its just a drink made from milk and eggs and delicious spices and sugar. most people mix it with alcohol. i use it as creamer in my coffee. and yes it is what you call Jam. lol
  • yes soooo much better for you. you can use healthier versions of all your ingredients and no preservatives! i am a baker, this is what i do (this is why i'm fat) but NOW i bake with Stevia instead of sugar and it cuts ALL the calories that sugar has and also cuts your sugar in half. but tastes just as sugary! :) (if you…
  • i love this! 1) i pledge to give away to friends and family most of the xmas cookies/muffins/bread i bake and only save a very few for myself. (also to make them with new as healthy as possible versions) 2) i pledge to practice my belly dance EVERY DAY of December (including my birthday and xmas). shimmy off that belly…
  • definately could be. i've never had it myself, but a good friend of mine had the ring and she gained around 15 lbs on it, when she took it out she started losing those lbs. personally i would consult a doctor before you do anything though. having all those hormones and then all of a sudden NOT having them can screw up your…
  • oh men do it too. dont let anyone tell you they dont.
  • ehhh i dont think you're being mean at all. its just human nature to feel a small amount of joy when someone we dont like is worse off than we are. my college enemy (she was my direct compitition for anything i wanted to do in my department and she usually won because she was a suck up) was always bragging about how she…
  • this is actually a fabulous idea. just a bit of tweaking......i'm good at that XD (and thanks for the wish of Luck GrayJohn!)
  • there are tons of us out here! welcome to MFP. i am personally a vegetarian since the day i was born (well i guess technically before that too since my mom is a vegetarian). have you tried Silk Light soy milk? it has WAY less calories than the regular stuff and tastes just as good!
  • once i even gained ten lbs during my TOM. its very temporary as long as you drink lots of water during the weight should all come off a day or two after the whole cycle is done. i personally dont weigh myself during my TOM because all it does is piss me off and its not accurate to your normal weight anyway. dont worry,…
  • personally i'm making up for all the deliciousness of thursday by working out extra hard all week. if i gain one or two lbs its not a huge deal. and i'm the chef. it would be a shame to cook all that food and then be the only one sitting there with hardly anything on her plate. yes i'm going to try and limit my portions…
  • OH! and as a note to all my land locked friends, its HARD to find Old Bay when you dont live near the ocean (since its kind of a sea food spice). but it can be found, just keep looking. i found it at Central Market (for any Austin friends). basically any store that has a lot of international/health food should be the kind…
