I look at myself naked in the mirror and cringe. No food is worth how low my self esteem is.

When I joined a gym to bust a plateu I was on, I didn't have a clue either. For me, I just took the plunge and hired a trainer so I knew I'd be trained correctly on how to the use the machines. It sounds like it's not really an option for you though. You could write down the name of the machines they have (brand and model…

Totally inspiring and amazing. So proud of you!

Here's one for you: this old guy comes into the gym with his wife when I go, except, sometimes the woman he's having an AFFAIR WITH is there also and the wife and her go at it screaming at each other. What a douche bag that guy is (and the women are BOTH stupid for staying with him). Gah. Personal **** in gyms.. hate it.

Sounds great.. about how many calories does that turn out to be? I haven't tried shakes yet but I'm curious....

1. Car seat belt isn't tight anymore 2. wrist bones! 3. Collar bones! 4. Wore a jacket that I haven't fit in comfortably since college

Definitely can see a difference. It's harder to see on yourself because you're so used to your own appearance but it's there. Keep going... it's awesome and you're doing great!

I looked this up recently and found this link helpful: http://www.nutracheck.co.uk/calories/calories_in_alcohol/calories_in_whisky.html (if you scroll down the page it lists other types of alcohol - beer, cider, wine etc). None of it very good for you because your body will burn the calories from alcohol before it starts…

I go to 24 Hr Fitness 4 or 5 times a week and work out with a personal trainer once a week but I've yet to take a class there. I'm curious about them - spin and yoga inparticular - but I don't think I'm ready for that yet. Do post how your spin class goes though - would be interested to hear. Good luck!

You're SO on the right track! I gained all my weight in college. If ONLY I had been more like you! Stick to it... it's worth it!

That's exactly what my trainer recommened - something complex like wheat toast with a spoon of peanut butter before and then something simple afterwards like a piece of fruit - usually a banana for me.

I hit a wall a few weeks ago and my personal trainer actually told me I wasn't eating enough for the amount of exercising I was doing. Believe it or not, you can eat TOO LITTLE and your body will go into starvation mode and will hold onto the weight. I think the correct thing to do - that many have already mentioned above…

ha ha! Same here. It does get addicting. My trainer recently told me that I needed to take a day off between hard workouts. It's SO hard to do. I feel majorly guilty if I don't go work out. I do modifty my food intake on my day offs so I shouldn't worry but but but... :)

My personal trainer recommends a better breakfast yes, especially if you're going to work out during the day. Food is fuel for your body - gotta fill it up to go throughout the day.

awesome. This is so encouraging!

I really question her pushing them to lose more than 2 lbs per week too. Everything I read everywhere says 2 to 2.5 per week is safe, any more than that, it's not. Any loss at all should be commended and instead they're told they suck. Their whinning does get really annoying too.

Someone else just asked about this same thing. I looked it up last week under the HELP section in the FAQs.: Q. Doesn't strength training burn calories? Why don't you show any calories burned for strength training? A. Estimating the calories burned from strength training is very difficult because it depends on a variety of…

They answer that question in the FAQs under the HELP section of this site: Q. Doesn't strength training burn calories? Why don't you show any calories burned for strength training? A. Estimating the calories burned from strength training is very difficult because it depends on a variety of factors: how much weight you…
