Does crude and sardonic count in this game?

You deserve a medal. Exhaustion and stress are components to weight gain. Have you tried a vacation? Good luck!

Add me - if you dare ....

There is some good advice in these posts. I would add that motivation comes from within and is mental. I believe that success (especially in the fitness area) is 90% attitude and 10% technique. Figure out your why and then work to achieve it. I would recommend taking a "before" picture and posting it next to your "goal"…

Impressive. I would think the riding a bike that way would burn a few calories. Been here awhile and kind of stuck at -5lb. I shook up my work routine as part of the new year's review. I'm here most every day - if you're lookin' for some more MFP compadres.

Muscle is heavier than fat, and women carry a little extra fat anyways. I would agree that you are not overweight. How much cardio do you do? Do you eat a lot of refined carbs? I have kind of the same issue - don't look fat, but I know I should weight about 175 instead of 200. My problem is ice cream and cookies!

Perhaps its not your legs are big, but the rest is too small. Consider exercising the upper half to even out your look. The only way to lose muscle is not exercising and letting it atrophy - not a recommended technique for good health.

Former AF here - boxed in college at 145 - now at 200 and holding steady. I like lifting and working out, but seem to be stuck. The weight was so much easier to take off when I was younger. Be happy to hear some tips/advice.

First you should document what you are eating now, then determine where you want to be. Reducing sugar and refined carbs in your diet will help, but without a snapshot of where you are, its difficult to give any specifics.

Yep - count me in the bored category. I used up all but 2 days of my vacation so now I am one of the few idiots left around the office.

Get a picture of what you looked like when you lost the weight before and hang it up where you can see it every day - that should be a good motivator.

I can relate - my news feed is pretty dull - I could use some blunt, witty, or even rudeness to shake things up abit.

"Illegitimi non- carborundum" :glasses:

Maybe consider a new boyfriend

Yeah, my newsfeed is pretty pathetic. I had some "friends", but it seems I'm the only one logging now. I'm a 50's ish guy looking to lose the same 20 lbs for the past 10 years - I've finally had enough.
-
Just remember when you weigh in - DON"T BLINK!

@cranquistador ...oooh, ouch! Nice.

Define "Creepy".

If you don't have a vision of what you want to accomplish, you will lose interest. Get a picture of what you want to look like and post it so you see it every day. Write down your goal and set a date to achieve it - make it realistic or you will get frustrated. Then start by making small changes. Start with a 30 minute…

Find a buddy - challenge each other and git er done!

Just a thought - the most important thing we have in this life is our relationships. It is good to be fit, but too much of a good thing ...

Are you getting enough sleep?

Cut back the carbs - especially processed and sugary ones like: Chips, white bread, cookies, donuts, white rice - pretty much anything that tastes good! But those carbs are what puts/keeps the weight on. You want to eat more proteins and complex carbs that have a low glycemic index.

Muscle soreness can be the result of 2 things: Over work or injury. If you just over worked, the soreness is a result of lactic acid build up - the waste product muscle produce from activity. If you are really sore and have trouble moving, try toning down the routine a little until your muscles can adapt to the routine. If…

Carbs raise your blood sugar - I don't think that's what a diabetic needs.

If you are fit AND fabulous, why are you trying to lose weight?

Have you read about getting on a low glycemic index diet? That may be helpful. Its not simply just restricting calories. The type of foods you eat, especially refined carbs could be preventing you from losing. Also, are you diligent about recording everything you eat? Sometimes I surprise myself thinking I haven't eaten…

The concept of weight loss is relatively simple - eat less calories than your body needs to maintain its weight. Having said that, the execution can be a challenge. Here are a couple of keys: avoid foods that raise your blood sugar (foods with sugar, starch, refined carbohydrates like - white bread, cereals, potatoes,…
