I found that until I dropped enough weights ab workouts just made the muffin top worse because my abs got bigger, not toned. It took aerobic exercise (all that walking I mentioned) to really slim down to where I could wear a form fitting dress. YOU can do it!!

Note to self... don't mention Shaun T next time...so we can focus on the actual question...

Hey, OP I hope you don't mind my posting this, but your post inspired me to write a blog about this: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/JanieJack/view/so-everyone-else-loses-while-breastfeeding-but-not-you-620061

Hey hang in there. Just know that breastfeeding won't last forever and if your baby is happy and healthy with the breastfeeding you ARE doing the best thing by the child. I, too, was really frustrated breastfeeding because it seemed like all the other moms pumping in the nursing mother's room were just losing without even…

Depends on your body. My "bestest" time is right after work, but that rarely happens! Right before bed is better than nothing. Of course, I say this because I can work out right before bed and fall right asleep. People tell me best time is first thing in the morning, but I find that I'm so stiff I don't perform as well as…

If you can get a Jeunique bra, get one! It's the only bra I run in. Company went out of business when the owner died a couple years ago, but you can still find them in boutiques and ebay and such. Others swear by Athleta and Title 9 bras. I visited a Title 9 once and tried out their bras and none of them work for me like…

6 pounds - frustrating!

I'm not even sure what this means (would be interesting for her to read the thread and then see how she responds). I just know how I would respond. That said, when I deployed last, BB and I had been dating for 4 months. Not only was I going to be deployed for 6 months, but then after that I knew I would have orders to move…

meant to say "yeah I overanalyze too"

Drop enough weight to feel good teaching exercise classes. The last class I taught was when I was 5 months pregnant, and I miss teaching.

Two separate reasons for moving on: 1 it's not as important to him. Defense mechanism or not, there is something stopping him. He needs a push, sure, but you can't base a relationship off being the one to push him. You'll be tired of that after a few years because I suspect this won't be the only area you discover he…

I confess I just stalked both of your MFP profiles and you both are so pretty I can't imagine the no dates means no interest. Best wishes to you both in 2014!!

Insanity complete! Just completed my final fit test. Olivia, here's a link to an Insanity support group, if you don't already have one! I posted my results there in case you're curious http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/51993-insanity-all-the-way

Man! I **WISH** I could last all morning off some peanut butter wholegrain toast! that's a LOT cheaper than the Vega protein I use haha

It's not only cardio exercises. It's cardio + weight bearing.. have you watched them? The way to build muscle is training to fatigue, combined with proper nutrition and appropriate rest. You can accomplish this with bodyweight (the key is training to fatigue - just takes longer if you're not using equipment), so this…

I haven't found too many "pre-packaged" foods other than what's above (cheese, fruits and veggies). I can't relaly do nuts because I'll eat to many lol. My fave is actually green beans. Takes a minute to wash and chop the ends, but I make baggies of these and grab one when I have "the munchies" or I know I'll be out and…

Congrats on T25! I hope you enjoy it. I haven't done it, but my friend loves it! She said its much easier on her back than some of ShaunTs other videos, and I can really tell a difference in her body since she started doing it. Adding protein powder (or some other breakfast protein) definitely helps me last longer between…

You're entitled to your opinions, but I've been doing CF, marathons, weight training, tough mudders, and a variety of other challenging fitness activities for awhile now so I kinda know what my body is doing and how it works. Insanity is a high-impact cardio program with the weight bearing parts being body-weight driven. I…

I beg to differ. I've gained arm and leg muscle. Abs are showing too, though I think that's more the fat is coming off vice actual muscle being developed, but the legs and arms show very noticeable difference in muscle. While i have my concerns about so many repetitive exercises (I have to modify some of the impact ones to…

^^ Since you responded to the old post.. I'll respond too. If you don’t want to go the online route here are some ideas: Meet guys out doing stuff you love to do (volunteering, church work, bookstore, Meetup.com, running groups (even if you’re not a good runner)) or by trying out stuff guys like to do. I discovered, by…

Depends on your body. I love CF, but I also need to incorporate a lot of stretching/yoga/pilates to my weekly mix in order to protect my joints. It also depends on your goals- get healthy, get definition, build muscle, drop size... all of those goals take different paths for me (well, get healthy is included with the other…

I try to juice before I work out (apple, couple of kale stalks, a beet if i have one, carrots, ginger) and then after the workout a protein shake by Vega. I sell the beachbody shakes and can't stand them. Today is my LAST workout of Insanity, and this has worked great for me!! FWIW, a lot of poeple told me chocolate milk,…

how cool! I've never heard of a weighted hoop before- sounds like fun! I hope others reading this won't discount the value of the hula hoop motion. I don't use a hula hoop, but I found the hip circles motion excellent for keeping the hip joints flexible, reducing pain, and reducing the impact of running on my leg and IT…

Oh wow, hey this is the company I was going to buy back in the day. The internet was brand new back then, so I'm not even sure how I found out about them (probably from someone at my gym) and my limited research made it a great choice. It was gonna cost a couple grand though, and I liked the NT one in the mall (only $600…

they probably received them from someone else, won't eat them, and you were the perfect conduit for getting those unhealthy (but oh so yummy) treats out of their house. So who can be that conduit for you?

There's some folks out there teaching that if you only have 3-4 hours to work out a week you should spend it lifting. The combo values of nutrition/weights/other exercise that work for each body I think are different- you have to find what works for you. I actually need more aerobics and yoga/stretching than I need…

half-way through my LAST WEEK! I can't believe it! When I first started this trip I thought I'd NEVER make it through!! Keep up the good work!
-
And please don't judge it only by weight. I've lost no weight but the change in my arms, abs, and legs is phenomenal!

My fitness goal for 2014 is less defined: simply put, I want to maintain my level of fitness and weight while preparing to transition out of the military.

I build weight pretty easy, too easy, and I haven't found that lifting helps flatten my belly. I find, instead that lifting tends to puff everything out if I don't lift in combination with a sound aerobics and stretch/pilates/yoga routine and (as others have said) solid nutrition. I was doing weights for awhile (Joyce…
