  • Heart rate monitor with GPS=freedom to go wherever you please and know how far and how hard you were riding.
  • You did lose inches, just probably not where you regularly measure, that's all! It looks like a bit came off between the waist and hips where we normally measure. Great work!
  • This actually made me laugh out loud.
  • The first few things I see near me: diaper wipes cd carrying case with music pads napking holder swimsuit bottom
  • bump to try later...might tweak to include more protein.
  • That's awesome, I had the same thing happen when I wore my wedding dress to a weight loss awards night and though I actually probably weighed slightly more than my wedding day, the thing had to be pulled way tighter than on my wedding day! Felt great!!! Great job :)
  • Two people very close to me tried this in their marriages with terrible results. Aside from these examples, I truly believe that it is wrong for a number of reasons. One of the questions that I always wonder, is why don't you care if your spouse sleeps with someone else? Personally, I want my husband to have eyes only for…
  • This will actually make two servings (or one really big serving) 1 scoop of isofemme vanilla sky protein powder 2 cups of frozen strawberries 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup oikos plain greek yogurt non fat Delicious and honestly, it's usually so thick I have to eat it with a spoon.
  • It is on the smaller end of the scale for a man, but my hubby only weighs slightly more than that and could probably get down to this weight without looking like a stick, so I guess it depends.
  • I have only done one straight running race but I was pleased to meet my goal of a sub 30 minute 5 K at 27:50.
  • I have one friend who has her rest day the day before a weigh in to reduce water retention which naturally happens from physical activity. I think that you should probably just stick to your regular routine--whatever you do, just be consistant.
  • Bumping for later. Some good suggestions here. I have been experimenting and have yet to find out that I really, really like.
  • Hi, I have been maintaining for a couple of years now. First off, join the maintenance group in the groups section (they will have tons of good things to say and someone will have similar stats to you and be able to give you a better answer on the cals question). Also, increase your calories gradually as you were doing…
  • Triathlon. Mostly because I just started participating in them and they are a huge challenge physically. If I could do it without the gruelling hours of training, all the better. lol.
  • I am around 140 pounds (on maintenance) and just recently upped my protein to 100 g a day and I often workout a couple hours a day. This is the equivalent of four chicken breasts everyday and I cannot see needing anymore than this unless I started bodybuilding or something like that. Right now I am finding it necessary to…
  • Really, eating your exercise calories make sense, so why beat yourself up about it? The workout you describe is something typical for me and I eat them back and do not gain weight. I am on maintenance, so this means that at around 140 pounds, I eat 2500-3000 cals on training days! Relax.
  • You might consider going to the olympic site--the height and weight of the competitors is posted for all the athletes. I am guessing that they have appropriate weight. If you look, it varies quite a bit. I was encouraged to see a woman with the same height and weight--though I would hazard a guess that she has a lower body…
  • Um, I was a healthy 10 year old who was probably over a hundred pounds and 5 feet tall...I think I wore a size 0 or something ridiculous like that when I was 13. That is a HEALTHY bmi for her height! (I double checked, it is a bmi of 24) Please do not make your daughter feel fat or suggest that she needs to lose weight.…

  • Thanks for this...interesting stuff. Not planning on joining the military anytime soon but it could be neat to see what "grade" one might get.
  • I have the waist measurement that you mentioned (28 inches)--and get this--I did not focus on core exercises. I have done sporadic some ab work but it mostly gets omitted in favour of running or biking (which also engage your core). For me, I actually had a mild hernia with my second child and there is still a small gap…
  • I can only speak from personal experience but I know that I seemed to drop more weight when I was better rested. I also notice performance gains fitness wise when I take naps and get adequate rest.
  • This one also bugs me. My husband told me that he saw it in print!
  • Winning my tri-a-tri!!!! (300 m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run)
  • I just won my first race! Just a tri-a-tri (300 m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run) but I am pretty pumped about it. I have a sprint distance coming up in August and I simply hope to finish that one! Time to move onto the bigger distances.
  • I would recommend getting outside to reduce stress if it is possible. Bike ride, run, walk, hike, swim, whatever. These are great for reducing stress!
  • I hate to say it, but I totally spent this amount and then some this year and last year on fitness! I bought a roadbike and the accessories last year and this year I have entered four races and bought a cheap wetsuit and a nice trisuit. If I had that kind of money right now and I could just blow it, I would get a fancier…
  • None for me. I doubt I will get any.
  • Board shorts and a tankini underneath. Seriously, still feels like you are wearing clothes and no one questions it.
