Congrats on your decision! It took me about a week to 10 days to get used to the smaller portions and now it isn't such a struggle. I make sure my choices are healthy...which means I can eat more volume for the 1200 calories. If I am super hungry, I have a can of V8...only 70 calories and fills me up intil the next…

Yes, eating too few calories can stall you. Which is the opposite of what you want :noway: It seems counter intuitive...but often when I cheat a little (go over my calories) it kicks me off the plateau...but only if it is one in a while!

Hi AnthonysMommy  I was a single mom for 10 years...mostly my choice as I wasn't going 'round 2' unless it was worth it...you know what I mean. I had some very lean days in that time. There are ways to make the dollar stretch that is healthy, but yeah it takes some effort. Your snack has fat but no carbs. Carbs are…

What you said took so much courage and it sounds like you are ready ot make a serious change! I would love to be a support on your journey. I am 43, my kids are grown, but I have battled depression and know it is serious. Add me as a friend! You can beat this, and find joy in life again. :flowerforyou:

I have to say this, and I hope this is taken in the spirit it is meant. I do not mean to be 'nasty.' However I do mean to shed some truth on this. I assume that every person on this site is losing weight...and by that we have all taken in more than our share of 1200+ calories a day on a daily, monthly and yearly basis to…

 Its sounds like we all weigt ourselves the same way...I mean, it gives us a neutral point...clothes weigh varying amounts, so it makes sense not to wear them  I weigh mysefl once a week and on day 5 or 6 if I feel like I have been 'extra' good and want the encouragement, but I have to recommend, measure…

There are a lot of options for gluten free these days. Trader Joes is amazing for options. There is also a book called Gormet Nutrition. Don't let the:flowerforyou: title fool you the recipes are 8 ingredients and under and not hard. Very yummy though!

I am 43, started out needing to lose 40 lbs...and I am down 6 lbs in 4 weeks  You can do this! One day at a time...and make changes that make your life better
-
Oh yeah....my kids are in their 20's now but I don't forget the 'baby blues'. First off...depression is depression, you should see a doctor...it can suck th joy out of life and become chronic, so don't fool with it...you deserve some care...and your doctor canget you on track. Although forcing yourself to be with people,…

Of course it is a guideline:smile: You have to do what is good for you, but if you can take vitamins, I hear 'dieters' are often deficient in Vitamin e...which is pretty easy to come by. It sounds like you eat healthy though, as you can plough through 1200 calories in one bad fast food experience!!
-
Agreed! 900 is setting you up for failure, i fear. 1200 is healthier...:flowerforyou:

I am a psych major...and there is a reason you ar having a carb craving...Your brain needs carbs...keep this up and you wont know your own name in a week!...alternate, if you must...a week of Atkins a week of WW... Anyway, what you want at the end of this is a life, not a diet. So, find some balance...immediate weight loss…

Hey Chelsea! Ok so all jobs legally have to have breaks. I go for serous walks...like 4 mile/hour pace walks with a co-worker twice a day which adds 40 mintes to my day. Stretches are good...necessary, but not cardio, so try to step away from the desk and get a walk in....yeah I sweat, but your callers will never know, and…

the makers of PX90 (too ambitious for me) make a great 10 minute workout. You can add them together and they are getting killer reviews! So you do 20 minutes...or 30...no shame in that! And you get a great variety!
-
Agreed. It can be done, but unless you want cellery for lunch and dinner you have to make those 30 minutes count! And regardless, take a day off or your body will adapt to the regime. To keep the weight loss at max, change up the 30 minute activity:flowerforyou:

My elliptical KICKS *kitten*! :glasses: And now with the incline options (like the treadmills have), and the various workout options...well it is amazing. The trust is, if $$$ is a factor, treadmills are cheaper. But in the end...you have to mix it up or you will start plateauing, so use it as your standby,…

Well, NUT BAR (health nut?) is one name  But yeah...selling food has tons of regulations. And if the place is not sterile and people get sick...well...the $$$ are flowing the wrong way then. It is an expensive propostion you are suggesting as to get licenced you will need a proper kitchen...and those cost a fortune…

You have a lot on your plate! The path to success is develop good habits and have lots of patience on yourself. You can change your nutrition, and it will benefit your kids immensely! Kudos! Are you going to school full time or part time? I was in University as a single mom with two kids and 2 -3 jobs. It was tough. Also…

Jenniflower... God I SO get you. The only way out...to a better life it to look forward to MORE. Not the less of your experience. You can do this...shop at farmers markets/not the grocery stores for veggies, it is SO CHEAP...ok, not perfectly convenient...but having $$$ is not exactly a cure. It is about stepping up to…

It may be tough...as you said, the options are not great. Pack the cooler with veggies and a healthy dip...like hummous. Pack yogurts like Sillouette only 80 cals and filled with fiber...when you stop, ask for fruit, salads, and grilled chicken...no carbs after noon, no butter on the toast! Have them add veggies and salads…

I'm in! Add me *kitten* a friend! We are all in this together! 34 lbs to go from 40...:flowerforyou:
