That's what this site is for! We're all here for the same reason: to get healthy! You can do this. You've already taken an important step just by coming here. Add some friends and lean on them. Build other people up, it will help you to feel better about yourself. And above all, keep moving forward. You can reach your goal!

Have you tried changed up your routine? You know, lift some weights or get an aerobics video that targets different areas of your body. Make some changes, get creative, confuse your body into letting go of more weight. XD But at least you are headed in the right direction. One or two pounds down every couple of weeks is…

I want to go to an amusement park with my husband and kids. I want to go hiking and mountain climbing like I used to. I want to be an independent individual who doesn't need a scooter to get around in when I'm in my forties or fifties. (I know people who use them only because they are obese and I do not want that for…

You look amazing. I hope to look as good as you when I'm fifty. <3

I haven't had surgery myself, so I don't really know what you are and are not allowed to do/eat. I would suggest doing just a little more exercise for now and to continue to track your calories. Welcome to MFP. I wish you the best of luck. :)

Hello! I'm Sarah. I have a long haul ahead of me but I have managed to lose 18 pounds in the last five weeks. I would love to have one more person to support/gain support from. I'll send a request. :)

Welcome aboard! This is an awesome site full of some pretty amazing people. I'm sure you'll be able to find a good support system on here. Good luck to you! :)

Hey there! I'm Sarah. When I started MFP five weeks ago I was at 402 pounds. I'm 5'4 and should ideally weigh about 120-135. Right now my goal is 250. It seems much more doable to me. When I get there I plan to try to maintain for a while (three to six months perhaps?) then plan my next step from there. So either way you…

Good for you for deciding to do something about it. I've got a long way to myself, but I have a long line of diabetes and high blood pressure behind me genetically. They are, in part, the reason I am here. I would make the run with you if you'd like to add me. :)

Well you took the first big step by coming back. And congratulations on not waiting until you'd gained it all back. I have a long way to go myself. Feel free to add me if you'd like. Our stories are very different but I'll be glad to be part of your support system. :)

I think that diet is the most important part anyway. I have been exercising lately but it's more to help speed things along (and get into better shape). I lost forty pounds once on diet alone as my job was much more demanding then. I think you would be able to do it if you stick to it. Unfortunately, I live in America and…

Well thanks again everyone. I love this site. There are so many helpful people here. :)

Lol. I'm not up for the super sets just yet. ;) When I get there, though, I will keep this in mind. Thank you.

Okay. Thanks. I don't mind not burning a lot of calories on my 'off' days when I do the weights. I just wanted to know so that I didn't accidentally sabotage myself. Thank you.
-
Thank you both. :)

I am proud of myself because even though I have stumbled a couple of times in the last five weeks, I am still going! I have developed better plans of action for myself and I realize now that I CAN do this. :)

My habits also started as a child. My mother raised me by herself and she has always been morbidly obese. She fed me the same things that she likes to eat; a lot of meat and potatoes, canned foods like spaghetti o's and raviolis, ice creams, boxed foods, and packaged things like cup cakes and such. She also didn't…

I can't wait to try these! :D

Thanks again for all the feedback guys. You're the reason this site is awesome. :)

Thank so much for all of these replies. I will be sure to look into all of them! I need to start slow, but I'm in it for the long haul so anything that doesn't work now may work later.

Thanks for writing back. I don't know if that would be too intense for me starting out but I will look into it. Thanks again! :)

Finding the willpower can be hard and that sounds like your problem to me. I weighed 402 pounds four weeks ago. I am down to 385 and I have weigh-in in the morning. You just need to find something to fight for. I want to be able to go hiking with my husband and children and to be able to go to amusement parks. Those are…

402. Three weeks later I'm at 389. It's going to be a long road but I'm up for the challenge. :)
-
Amazing. You are a big factor in my inspiration. I still have a long way to go but people like you show me that it can be done. :D Awesome progress!

Sorry to hear about your health. Congrats on joining here though. This place is a great source of motivation for me. When I see my friends progressing it helps me to want to progress as well. I hear you on the 40+ hour week on your feet. That's tough. I used to have that sort of job and when I did I made sure to do…

Hello. I'm also new here. I've been looking specifically for other people who have/had a long way to go. I'm glad to see that you have already made such a great stride. If you don't mind, I would like to friend you and we could share support and perhaps find new friends together.
