You can't out train a bad diet.

Except it's not working properly just now .... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/714911-fitbit-adjustment-out-of-whack

Bin the partner and the trainer. Set things to meet your own needs.

Firstly, I agree that 1200 is too low; you should be eating above your BMR. Have a look at http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/ to see what a 20% cut on your TDEE would be. Secondly, remember that MFP's recommendation is for /net/ calories. Are you recording your exercise? And then eating back calories?
-
Yep, it's good news really but it makes burning calories that wee bit harder.

Looking good dude. What routine do you follow?
-
I would say lightly active and log your extra cardio work on top. If the weight's not coming off - or is coming off too quickly - then adjust after 3 -4 weeks.
-
If you follow Scooby's suggestion of a 20% reduction on your TDEE, eating 1901 calories per day should see you drop a pound a week. That's before any exercise, so you can eat (some of) them back too.

I use my HRM for burn and Runkeeper for distance, speed etc. it's all I can afford / justify at the moment but it works well.

This. You can only control your own reaction.

Why wouldn't you count them? 100 calories in a small banana. Mind you, I wouldn't count broccoli. I suppose everyone has a different "line in the sand"

This !

No, it does not track heart rate.

I'm from Glasgow so have a Scottish accent.

It tracks your exercise if you walk / run etc. However it's not so useful for things such as cycling, elliptical and the like. I have a fitbit and a Polar Ft7. I have MFP set to sedentary and let fitbit do its stuff with all walking exercise. If I'm cycling, I still enter that as an exercise on MFP and it overrides the…

So did Jim Fixx

Are you keeping well hydrated?

Piers Morgan. Don't think I need to explain, do I?
-
It would. It's just that the Garmin has GPS built in so you can map / track your run / ride. They're good.
-
Seconded. Or 1894 daily calories if you're at 15% reduction.
-
If you submit the first part of your postcode it's happy with that.

I honestly couldn't care if I weighed a pound or a ton if I looked right! The scales are just ONE of the weighs I measure my progress.
-
I'm 6'0 and aiming for 180 - just inside the healthy BMI. Long way to go!
-
Absolutely outstanding. The blood, sweat and tears have been worth it!
-
Hi, I'm just outside Glasgow too and would be happy to get a wee add from any other UK types.

Do you mean 2013 or 2014? 104 weeks should be quite achievable.
