Do you like smoked cheddar cheese? Add a few drops of smoke flavoring to the cheese mixture and it works pretty well to make your brain think you're eating smoked cheese! I buy reduced fat cheddar cheese (solid block) and smoke it in our stove top smoker... Smoke flavor makes my brain think BACON yet adds zero calories!

I used Nuva (sp?) ring - loved it - I used it continuously (swaped one out for the next after about 25 days) so I didn't have a period. In August I was spayed (basically LOL!). Turned out BC was a good thing because it lowered my risk of Ovarian cancer (I carry a gene that makes me high risk). My older sister used the IUD…

I'm in the same boat. You know how my husband keeps from worrying about his sugar levels? Yeah- he doesn't check them. EVER. I seriously have been tempted to leave him over this stuff. We've been married for 23 years and he is much older than I am - which isn't a big problem except when he seems to deliberately efff with…

I think the first step is learning to be comfortable with discomfort. That might sound kinda trivial but it's not! Learning to surrender to discomfort releases you to be truly free! Learning that anxiety and physical pain won't last forever, and that with that sharp sense of pain you also get clean feelings of pleasure!…

Checking in for yesterday (waited until I got to work to determine the damage). Calories - over by 200 (WORTH IT:bigsmile: !) Water- under Exercise - 45 minutes on the treadmill (counted those calories!) and 1025 "up" stairs at work! Proud - That I made myself walk up the 4 flights of stairs 14+ times! I stopped at…

I think it's time to remind ourselves how our bodies work! It is unlikely we can gain a pound or two of FAT from a bad week. Think about it - you have to have an extra 3500 calories for your body to store a pound of fat. What we CAN gain is water! And not just from sodium! Our bodies hold water to store sugars when…

I'm checking in for the weekend - I logged all the food - the good the bad and the oh so sinful! 2/13 Calories - Over! By a LOT! (inspired to make truffles from left over chocolate fondue, to garnish chocolate mint martinis - NOTHING there was healthy!) Exercise - none Water - very little Proud - that we didn't overspend…

I hate to state the obvious - but if you've only been working out for the past couple of months are building muscle as if you're strength training. Your muscles weigh more (per volume) so you're not seeing much change in your weight. If you really want to lose pounds - and it's not as important to you to be in shape, back…

 WHOOOOOHOOOO! YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL!!!!:drinker:

Just dance like nobody is watching :) Dance for yourself! Dance as much as you can until you are dripping with sweat and dance every day - log your food (every bite you take) and start to cut out unhealthy foods. Between your dancing and your diet you will get to the size where you feel more comfortable. Give yourself the…

We had friends over for a Valentines themed dinner on Thursday night. Our appetizer was a crab dip made with fake crab meat, sauteed onions, light cream cheese and light mayo - we dipped veggies and bread into the dip - the bread was home made, white bread, with two heads of roasted garlic in it and minced fresh rosemary.…

I hope that by next year at this time, I'll be in the 130s too! Congratulations!

Slice it into fries, coat with a little egg white and seasoned flour and bake at 375 until crisp! Dip in lowfat may with horseradish!
-
That's GREAT! What a fabulous result! Keep it up!

 ENJOY!!!:drinker: My metabolism is in complete shock right now... I keep remembering things I ate last night :embarassed: Like the dark chocolate truffles I made from Thursday's left over dark chocolate fondue, and served in the chocolate/mint martinies! whoops!

I went to the link and it's really interesting. I was doing well until I came to the part about no wine. whine whine whine! I think I'll keep on doing what I'm doing since it's working and I'm happy! I pair my wine with some fat to slow the speed in which I break down the alcohol and sugars - and I've given up wine a few…

Let us know how you did! Either way we can learn and no matter what don't feel you've been de-railed... it's all part of the journey!

Momma2four - my bff mists her kale with olive oil sprinkles on some salt then bakes it till it's crispy! I have made a dish with chopped kale and a can of chopped tomatoes, with some garlic - it wasn't bad! I found some fun cabbage and beet recipes (beets - are SOOOO good for you but I can't stand them LOL!) I hope this…

That is fabulous! I'm hoping to do a 5K this summer- I'm planning on starting the c25K as soon as it gets decent outside (and lighter in the morning).

Are you ready for our challenge???:noway:   In the Spirit of St. Valentine's Day...  Three nights this next week, light a candle, pour yourself a glass of red wine for your health (non drinkers could have a nice wine flute with non-alcoholic bubbly cider and cranberry juice or some such treat!)…

This is a great topic! I was wondering the same thing today. Yeah - there are tools and numbers and ratios - but we all carry our weight differently and what I'm realizing is that I carry it differently than I did ten years ago let alone 25 years ago! I'm 5'3" (shrinking!) and I have little bones. The lightest I've been as…

When I go over (and we all do time to time) I try to put it into perspective (1000 calories = 1/3 a pound IF that was above your maintenance calories). Drink water and if you feel up to it get some good aerobic exercise in today and don't eat them. In the long run it won't matter but it will help you feel back on track!…

Peanut butter (natural - or low sugar), I like smoked almonds... I also use low sugar/low fat yogurt for protien and low-fat cottage cheese!

Hi Dremsdaily - we had a ferrit once - she was GREAT! (maybe a little stinky). She was so gentle anyone could play with her, even little kids. She used to torment our dogs :-D

Hi Meokk - I'll add your info in for this week and then you'll be all set for next week's weigh-in! By the way, while we're all one big (hee hee) family, this list is managed by awestfall - I'm just a big mouth that can't stop posting  Here are the weeks numbers - anyone else going to weigh in?…

Eat some bulky, low calorie foods on your way over - foods that take a while to leave your stomach! My favorites are small apples (eat them whole not slices) and carrots. If you can eat celery w/ peanut butter that will give you some bulk and fat to reduce your appetite. Good luck!
-
The HRM is really only accurate for actual aerobic exercise - so even though you're active all day -it's just a guestimate on how many calories you burned in 6.5 hours. The best use of that data would be to track day to day activity not ness. to see how many calories you burned. How did you enter your daily activity in…

Glad you're back Jenn! A woman at work who's lost over 100 lbs said that when she got stuck for a few weeks or a month at a certain weight, she'd take a few weeks off and move up to her maintenance calories (still exercising 30 minutes, 5 days a week). She said that the scale would say she'd put on 5-6 pounds but since we…

Breakfast - hard boiled egg (running out the door) Lunch - Red Robin (I'm so weak!) Harvest apple salad (480 calories) which wasn't too bad.... then about 6 bites of the mountain of chocolate dessert which was another 400 calories!!! Dinner - Yeah. If I get on the treadmill to earn some more calories I'm going to have left…
