  • I went to a high end lingerie store: http://myintimacy.com/ Not sure if they have a location near you, but I highly recommend getting fitted by a professional. Even if you don't buy one of their $90-$150 bras. I have a few and realize that I was wearing the wrong band and cup size, and I am so much more comfortable now.
  • I make this at least once a month all through winter. http://www.theyummylife.com/Slow_Cooker_Apple_Cinnamon_Oatmeal
  • Great. Thank you all. I guess I was over thinking it. I will set MPF to 1,960 and ignore the daily adjustments that happen for over/under additional calories burned. I can adjust that periodically when my weight goes down and my activity consistently goes up.
  • That is a lot of weight to lose in a year, but that's AWESOME that you didn't try fad dieting, but true calorie counting and good old fashion exercise. Good for you!
  • I am 41, married 11 years, no kids, 5'8" was 210 at my heaviest, 160s at my lowest. 180s now. Would love to motivate each other.
  • I second TurboFire. And Insanity.
  • www.enell.com/‎ - Ugly as sin, but you won't get any uncomfortable bounce in these. http://www.freyalingerie.com/active/sports/underwired-sports-bra/underwired_sports_bra.aspx?colour=black%20samba - I also have an love this one. Even makes you look "perky" with a t-shirt on.
  • YES! After a month of too many beers here and a few too many glasses of wine there, I did it and lost 8 lbs. in a month. You have nothing to lose and you will be a cheap date when you do decide to drink again.
  • LOVE it. I have my husband's name tattooed on my back. Not as visible as those - but I think that is a great idea.
  • I'm on Week 2 of Insanity. I do the workouts 3 days a week and mixing it in with running 2-3 times a week, and yoga 1-2 times a week. I have done CLX and Les Mills Pump and I am STRONG from both of those, but my eating isn't consistent so my muscles are hiding under plenty of jiggle and cellulite. My goal through Insanity…
  • I'm 5'8" and most of my jeans are 10 or 12 U.S. I have a comfy pair of 14s I wear if I'm going to sit on the ground or something. But strangely all my work pants are size 8 and they fit great. I guess it's the fabric.
  • 5'8" Weight 184 Chest 42.5 waist 38.75 hips 44 goal: don't worry about the scale, continue to work my body into shape. Started 9/2/13 Completed ChaLEAN Extreme and Les Mills Pump but ready for INSANITY. Doing a hybrid with running. so Insanity 3X week. running 3X week and 1 day of yoga.
  • I'm 5'8" and can't remember what my TDEE was when I calculated it a while back, but I set my calories for 1,700 per day and eat some or all of my exercise calories back. I burn 300-400 calories 5-6 times a week, so I'm often eating @2,000-2,100 calories per day. I loose if I stay consistent with this, but I usually have a…
  • I always get fish tacos or shrimp fajitas w/corn tortillas. You can ask them to go light on the oil and they turn out great! I do enjoy a bit of guacamole, sour cream, and cheese because it's a splurge. If I'm committed I count out 12 chips and have that with salsa. Enjoy your margarita! And what some others suggested, eat…
  • I went on a 3-week natural cleanse in June and it helped wean me off of meat, and eventually all animal products. I never felt better in my life. I would not call myself a veterinarian or a vegan, but now instead of having meat at lunch and dinner I cook/eat mostly vegetarian and eat meat 1-3 times a week total. Happy to…
  • Yes, you can do an outdoor 5K with only treadmill training. Don't risk your safety. I live in a large city and will not run in the dark for any reason. With that being said I despise the treadmill and ONLY run outside, but manage to do it during daylight hours. One option may be to get someone to watch the kids and do your…
  • I agree. Squats especially. I didn't believe it at first, but it's working for me and I'm in my 40s and never had a flat stomach.
  • Awesome dedication and hard work. WTG! You look great!
  • Me: Age: 41 Sex: Female Height: 5'8" SW: 210 lbs. CW: 170 lbs. GW: 163 lbs. UGW: 159 lbs., but mostly to be firm!
  • HA! Love this topic. I work at home (upstairs office) and have it set at 75. If it creeps into 76 that is fine too. At night it is 71 and we are snuggled deep under the covers. With a separate unit/thermostat downstairs and where we are moving about, cooking, eating, etc. it is at 71-72 which is where DH wants it. I tend…
  • In 2010, I lost 25 lbs. in 5 months through reduced calorie eating alone. Then I started incorporating exercise. I think 5 lbs. a month is realistic for someone with 30 lbs. to lose.
  • I eat a lot of the same foods. It's not to say I always eat the same thing every day. I am trying to eat less meat, and my husband doesn't eat many of the vegetarian meals I make, so while this works, it almost forces me to eat the same meals. Breakfast For example, on lifting days I like to eat more protein so I may eat…
  • I do NOT count housework as exercise. I only count purposeful exercise like swimming, running, fast walking (not including a commute or to meetings), lifting weights, doing workout videos, etc.. I also do not count easy/hatha yoga or ab workouts. I give myself 1 calorie burned for these just so I can log them. I would…
  • ME! I go over my calories almost every day a little bit because I really don't care what the scale says that much. I could still loose 6-10 lbs. but I'm more interested in working out (to eat more food like you) and to lose the fat and gain muscle. Feel free to add me.
  • Quit my gym membership 2 years ago and I'm in better shape now that I was 10 years ago. Running (which I know you can't do) DVDs in the basement Yoga Swimming Walking Stretching Situps/Pushups when watching TV Outdoor activities on the weekends/in my free time.
  • I did a vegan diet for 3 weeks. Never felt better in my life. So much energy, digestion, sleep. My skin was clearer, my allergies disappeared, and my stomach has never been flatter. I am back to meat and dairy, but in much smaller quantities and less often. Try Karma Chow cookbook for some great recipes. Good luck!
  • Personally, I'm more concerned about showing off my collar bones, which are starting to take on a nice shape thanks to arm and shoulder workouts. A slightly low cut blouse can show those off nicely, and I can leave the thigh-gap, or lack there of, for private showings only.
  • I agree with the Freya Active or Enell. <--34F
  • Turned 41 in May and healthier than I was at 31: smoking, overweight, ate junk, didn't exercise. I'm the complete opposite now, eat well 80% of the time and exercise 5-6X week. And of course no smoking - quit that 3.5 years ago. Anyone feel free to add me - ladies only, please.
