Look at the study. It has all your answers found within.

If you think 200 calories make a significant difference then carry on doing what you are doing. EDIT Have you not made goal in over a year?

Let’s talk about what we know, it is clear that the optimal protein intake is higher than some recommendations; in one study it was shown that a protein intake of 2.1g/kg provided superior muscle mass gains to a protein intake of 1.2g/kg in weightlifters (Tipton et al, 2004). It is also known that even in a very slight…

Most (not all) need to eat and at 1200 will have compromised metabolisms IMO from years of bad dieting and yoyo dieting and will often use contraceptives increasing carb sensitivity meaning diet and content becomes more important (increased estrogen can act to add adipose tissue when introduced to the system). Its not hard…

Too many people on this thread confuse losing weight and losing body fat. Not the same thing. Anyone can lose weight, make a smaller, just as fat version of you, just smaller. There are optimum ways of dieting and maintaining muscle mass and there are suboptimal ways. Both ways will lose weight, some will burn fat more…

Question. Are you changing measurements? Far too many people get hung up on WEIGHT when it is BODY COMPOSITION that matters. What are your measurements last month and now?

Please quantify this statement into something meaningful?!

Was agreeing til you said bikini at sub 10%. As a coach, I can assure you a bikini competitor will be late teens, early 20s. My fiancee who does Body Fitness and much leaner, maxed out at around 13-14%. Not sure I agree with your third and fourth paragraph either, you are guessing at this point ratuilher than using any…

Cannot believe a Dr would say something so simplistic. Everyone has different input/outputs during their day. One needs to look at the energy they expend (Harris Benedict is useful for a guide) and work from there. A 20 year old woman, will have very different needs to a 50 year old woman, even if the other stats remain…

Your body will burn muscle when it see's that its not being used to support its daily needs - eg moving around/stresses placed on it. Muscle is calorie intense compared to other energy systems in the body and in times of dietary stress will feed off the areas it see's as least needed (in a very basic sense). HOWEVER you…

I guess Layne Norton and his metabolic damage videos and studies showing that damage is occurring on very low calorie diets, is wrong? I guess because "you" (certain people here) have lost a few pounds here and there (which you will regain as soon as you start eating again) it is the 'way to go'. Enjoy old age ladies.…

At the mo, a bulk supplier called The Protein Works in the UK - very very tasy and cheap too! :o))

They don't touch insulin nor do they touch glucose. Any craving is literally in your head. Psychosomatic, not chemically based in terms of bodily response. Studies: aspartame http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2182973 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1946186 saccharin http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7652029…

Just eat that what fits around your day. I personally like to eat a decent protein/carb meal 90 mins before I train and take preworkout 15-20 mins before I hit the gym.

See a Dr. Long term chronically low/zero food intake will damage you. This isn't a subject for MFP, this is a real world problem. Get help.

For anyone doubting how much Yo means to me and the fact I'd do ANYTHING for her was the fact that Gaspari my ex sponsor said stop supporting her or we will let you go because she is doing the WBFF. I refused to bend for a sponsor over my fiancee and they dropped me...…

Depends on your goals, totally.

For those interested and positive in mind see http://tinyurl.com/yochampion . to see all of the professionally captured photo's from the day. For those that don't care... have a great life :o))

We get cherry diet coke, cherry diet zero, cherry diet pepsi max too in the UK (Asda is great for this!).
-
Diet coke drinks with zero or 1/2 cals will not cause weight gain, nor will the sodium since the amounts are based in miligrams and far less than a 10th of a gram. Tiny! They do not release insulin, nor adjust blood glucose or in anyway do they increase nor decrease appetite. If they give you headaches, fine do not drink…

In your opinion. The Harris Benedict calculation is a very well respected one. Having dieted many women and men and used my baseline on the suggested figures, I can say the one I suggest is very very good.

True. I'll learn to use the ignore button and help those who want to learn :o))

Anything containing fats. Nuts, nut butters, oils and fatty meats.

Its not. It depends on your height, weight, age and general day to day activities. Use this - http://www.globalrph.com/harris-benedict-equation.htm

Thanks for all the replies everyone, food for thought.

I was trying to say the mental state of said people rather than say I'd openly state it usually on a thread. If I was openly saying it repeatedly then I would totally agree about pot/kettle/black.

Done!

The guy after you sums it up perfectly. And insinuating she's forced into changes by me (body, hair, look) is not only insulting to us both, it's completely unfounded. Please tell me how she is looking unhappy, that the insinuation that she had been forced beyond her will is said in a remotely positive light? Finally in a…

IIFYM is great. But I do it the way I think it was intended by Layne etc - make dieting more interesting and have the odd junk meal because unless I'm just before stage it will work just fine. But I'm not a fan of junk food, too much makes feel crappy.
