I love Being Human (UK version only) too, but since I just watch it through Netflix, it won't affect me for a long time if they end it. It's changed a lot anyway, so I think I'll survive. Love the first two seasons though! :)

Not today, but Saturday, I was a nerd because while flipping through channels on TV, I stopped on a rugby match and had to text my mom when I saw a team had a player named T'Pau like the character from Star Trek. I think his name was spelled differently though.

I understand exactly what you mean. Researching BDD can definitely help find coping strategies, but keep in mind that EDs are sometimes completely different from BDD too. If you go to a therapist and your chief concern is the fat/thin issue, while it functions the same as BDD (seeing what others don't) they're probably…

Thanks so much for that! I'm going to find one on Amazon right now.

Hi! I'm so sorry you're having a hard time, and I'm SO so sorry that you lost your mother. For me, the first step (and what I always recommend to people) was reading. Now, if you hate reading, feel free to totally disregard this, but as an avid reader myself, I didn't mind. One of the most helpful books out there for…

I tried them last year, just in case. I bought a one-month bottle, took the whole thing over the next four weeks completely as directed. No change at all. I didn't have any weight loss that was any different from what I'd been achieving already. The first week though, I definitely DID have a headache every day. Not worth…

OMG, yes, Patrick Stewart Scroog was SO crazy. Do you guys remember when he played Ahab in a made-for-TV production of Moby ****? That was pretty weird too.

I'm mostly Cosplay Geek, I guess? I don't Cosplay, but if there were one called "Fantasy Geek" that would be me. I'm not really into Sci-Fi (except Star Trek <3), but I'm way into Sci-Fi's better half-- fantasy. I'd much rather be in Middle Earth. Or Valhalla. Or pretty much anywhere that appreciates intricately braided…

I dislike it, because my BDD makes me automatically assume they're staring at me in disgust thinking "Dear God, what is that thing?!"

Uh oh, just how boring is ITIL? We were just talking about it briefly at our last staff meeting a few days ago. I was thinking surely nothing could be more boring than Connectwise training (our PSA software) but maybe I was wrong. Damn.

Ah, it always makes me feel better to hear about other people who are seeing it multiple times, not just me :) I was so thrilled on the day that I saw it in 3D, because I was the LAST person in the theatre to get a pair of the Hobbit 3D glasses, everyone else just got regular ones. I completely love it, thought it was sooo…

Oh geez, that's such a good idea that I feel dumb for not having thought of it! I used to Ativan once in a blue moon for panic attacks, I should ask my doctor what he thinks about trying that again. Sometimes I feel like I want to be able to do it "naturally" with as few meds as possible, but at the end of the day, I'd…

Yeah, I'm sure therapy would be the best treatment, but I just can't do it right now (unable to get off work to go and can't afford it). My meds might need to be adjusted; I take Wellbutrin 150. I think I'm hesitant to seek a change in medications since MOST of the time, I feel like they work great. It's just now and then,…

I work in IT, but not as a technician, I'm just the office manager of an IT company. But still, IT people unite! :)

I've only lost 30 pounds, still have a long long long way to go. But, I can just barely start to notice a difference finally (barely) so maybe you guys can see a difference too? Of course, the biggest difference is that I stopped dyeing my hair red :) Highest weight: So far (-30 pounds):

I sent a friend request! :)

That's ALWAYS a good thing :D

Because I can't pick which guy on the local hockey team. Why can't I date them all?? :)

Hmm, could you just buy a cupcake and put it in the mug and send it wrapped in pretty cellophane with the candle and all? Maybe? Or, what part of Russia are you in? There may be an international foods store nearby that would have a cake mix that would work?
-
Ok, yes 50kgRussianBallerina was first, but I'll fill in with French, Italian, and German. And lower-level Swedish. Between the two of us, we'll get a lot of it covered! :)

Same here, moderators! Will translate for workout clothes money :D

Also, I'd keep plenty near me at all times, so that if I got "full" after only eating a few bites, in 15 or 20 minutes I'd eat a couple more bites.

When I first got started on antidepressants years ago, I went through the same thing, and have experienced it again with each med change. What works for me is eating breakfast cereal. Sometimes I couldn't even handle having it with milk, but even then, it's still pretty nutritious for something that is super-easy on the…

For me, it's helpful to just not have that kind of stuff in the house. I can't remember the last time I purchased a container of ice cream from the grocery store, because I know I'd have an evening where my control would break and I'd scarf it down. Once in a blue moon I'll actually be so bad that I'll give in to a craving…

It does make sense, I understand. Take some time to just come to terms with it and be easy on yourself for a few days. Then, I'd recommend diving right in and researching it as much as you can so you'll be able to fight it.

Try not to be too terrified. If anything, at least take heart in knowing what you're up against. I definitely would agree with your therapist though-- if you have BDD, losing weight won't change it. I'm currently about 60 pounds heavier than when my BDD was at its WORST. It will morph and change to fit itself into whatever…

I went to a zoo the other day. They only had one animal. It was a Shih Tzu.

Hi rlmadrid-- I'm so sorry I didn't see your post soon enough to be helpful :( I thought that MFP would send me an email notification when I had posts in my group, but that's not the case. I'll try to check the group more often, and see if I can get a setting changed so I get notified when someone posts here. Again, I'm so…

I've struggled in the past with binge eating, and as a person with a lot of mental struggles also, I wouldn't be surprised if at times it qualified as a disorder. I don't really have any advice about actually overcoming the disorder, I haven't talked to any therapist about it. I can say, for me, something that helps when I…
