I too have arthritis in my knees and up until a few months ago I could hardly walk they were so bad. I finally got on the proper meds and I started out slow by walking. Now for cardio I use an elliptical because it's better on my knees than a treadmill. Stretching after a workout out and icing them is a must! I have also…

I just eat it plain or sometimes with cucumbers. My dad also got me hooked on chive and onion cottage cheese!! YUM!

Yes oh yes. I went from doing hair to sitting at a desk. It's so hard to get use to it! It feels good working out after a long day of sitting.

Ice packs on those really sore areas, stretch and stretch again! Also, agree with taking a day off, your body is telling you it needs a break. You don't want to get hurt. And protein! Protein repairs and rebuilds :)

I just started a Pilates DVD (I'll have to go home and get name) it comes with a mini ball and boy does it work your core!!

Oh I just make my own lol. But they are tasty. Whey protein powder (vanilla flavor) banana peanut butter soy milk (vanilla flavor) I just visually add the amounts (this one is great source of protein) strawberries banana blueberries water/ice I get a lot of frozen fruit because I just don't eat it fast enough at times and…

Looking at success stories on here are very motivating. I also do boot camp on Monday's which gets my butt in gear for the week! Also, I just started taking photos of myself to track changes. For my eyes only at this point but it helps to see!

Ranch, usually just with fries though and I've cut those babies out of my life!

Goal right now is 150 (currently 217) but I'm sure I'll adjust it once I get there :)
-
Both! I was told by my personal trainer to eat a light meal/snack 30-60 mins before working out and then protein afterwards. You eat before to get the energy to do the workout and you eat protein after to repair the body.

Very inspiring and motivating!! I'm about 5'7" and started my journey about a month ago. I'm currently at 217 and my goal is 150. Once I get there, maybe more, depends on how I look and feel :) But thanks for sharing. It gives me so much motivation and I just have to learn to be patient!

I struggle with this too! My boyfriend is a rail! His vegetables consist of potatoes and corn, he doesn't eat fruit (or really anything good for you), he loves chips and usually drinks pop. He was just blessed with a good metabolism. We always go grocery shopping together so I get my stuff and he gets his. With this new…

I have RA bad in both my knees, wrists, and elbows. It got to the point a few months ago I could hardly walk. Luckily, I was able to get better insurance and get back on track with my meds. I knew the excess weight on my body wasn't helping my joints either. I use to be a runner so I was sad that I couldn't do that…

My trainer told me to eat a small, light meal/snack 30 to 60 mins before you workout so you have the energy to do the workout. Then afterwards eat protein! Protein repairs the body so important to have it post workout.

I hear you girl! Day 2 of sore/raspy throat, I can just feel the cold creeping up! Like the others said, listen to your body. If you can't workout without getting dizzy or light headed,it's time to rest. But sometimes it's good to sweat it out!! Especially if it's a cold.
-
Oh good to know! Thanks!!

*Bump*

All the time! I go look at the success stories and photos!!

HAHAHA! When my bf cooks I'm always asking him, what did you put it in? What's the name? How much did you put in, etc.... He has learned to leave the stuff out so I can scan the bottle or container it was in, LOL.

I started boot camp a few weeks ago with a group of ladies and our personal trainer talked about protein. Protein repairs the body. Eat it especially after working out. She also said that MFP tends to set the protein goals too low. You can never have enough protein!

Hello! I'm Brittany, born and raised in Minnesota! I currently live in Burnsville.
-
I agree with a lot that has been said above BUT also, increase your water intake and change up your workouts. Also, your weight is going to flex a few pounds depending on what you eat.

Hello everyone! My name is Brittany, I'm 27 years old and was diagnosed with RA at 19. I also have a little sister who was diagnosed with it at 19 as well. I recently rejoined MFP once I started boot camp with a group of ladies to help keep me accountable. In 2009, I broke my foot which then caused me to gain weight and of…

I know I miss being able to run! But I agree, swimming, elliptical and walking are probably best. Make sure you stretch really good after and ice.
