This is pretty much the greatest thing I've read today.

I do! You can swing your hand down and hit me squarely in the *kitten*. RDLs, walking lunges, glute ham raises, etc are keeping it high and tight too. ha! Hey, it's all I've got. B cup boobies and a DD cup *kitten*.

I use Optimum Nutrition whey. I don't like any of the Jillian Michaels etc ones cos they have more carbs and fat than whey isolate. I can meet my carb/fat macro goals without shakes. Protein is harder. Oh, and unless you're lacing your protein shakes with testosterone, you're not going to bulk up.

Actually, you could start compound movement now, and include accessory work to strengthen the muscles around your knees. You're probably quad-dominant (most people are) and would benefit from hamstring work. I've injured myself significantly twice in the 18 months or so that I've been lifting (multiple-roll car accident…

Do you not want to lift more? I'm confused as to what it is you're looking for... My advice would be to lift, and lift heavy. Start with the bar (45 lbs) and work from there. There are a TON of programs on the internetz and youtube is a great place to reference for form if you're confused.

I'd recommend against it! I bought a one lb tub cos I didn't want to wait to get one from gnc or online or my usual stuff. The taste of it wasn't terrible (but I'm used to the taste of whey and supps). I didn't realize how much it screwed me up til I'd been using it a month. HOWEVER it caused constant GI distress. TMI, but…

I just take the women's ultra mega from GNC. Sometimes I take a couple of my daughter's chewables. I'm also generally anemic, depending on where I am in my cycle, so the added iron definitely makes a difference and I feel better, have more energy, etc. The cheap ones can sometimes pass through your system without ever…

I received a free sample of them in the mail so I tried them. The only noted effect? Horrific headaches. Awful.

Excellent reference, SS. Thanks!

I get that way too. Usually that's what makes me realize that my period is coming on. I eat more meat, drink more water, make sure I'm getting my gym time in, and have more sex. Seriously, it helps the cramps!
-
You're right. Maybe I should have clarified that I'm not holding a water bottle in one hand while inserting a catheter with the other? :drinker:
-
And what do you consider "way too much lean protein?"
-
I second what someone else said earlier - if I drink my water consistently, then I'm ok. I'm a nurse, too, and can't be in the bathroom all day. Usually I take my water bottle to work with me, and try to fill it four times (to equal a gallon) before 4 PM.

haha Seriously! Followed by jewelry. Or electronics of some sort. Better idea: Plan and completely set up a weekend or at least a date. Every time I want a date, I get "Well, where do you want to go?" If he planned out an entire evening, I would definitely show him my appreciation ;)
-
I'm a nurse, too, and I definitely relate to what you said about being "good role models." Trying to change that :)

Originally from CA but now live in Pennsylvania, south of Erie.

Lots of protein, and a steady diet of iron (not the type you eat).
-
Excellent post, and excellent work! You look great!
-
You are a MACHINE! Way to go!

Beer. Didn't give it up entirely, but I love a good full-bodied beer. I just drink it a lot less often now. And foie gras. Steaks finished with a pat of clarified butter. Decadence in general. I'm a lot healthier and feel better most of the time, though.

Wow! That last set of pics is amazing! Girl, your booty looks awesome! Great work!

Back to workset weights. Squat 115 OHP 50 Deadlift 125 <--felt really light, might jump 15 lbs next time instead of 10. The OHP is really frustrating me. I do it in front of a miiror to watch my form and it seems like I'm doing it right but I'm seriously struggling with it. I seem to stall just before getting full…
-
Are you sure your form is correct? Your shoulders should be pressed into the bench, back arched, hips down, and heels on the floor. I'm not sure how much difference your height should make since I'm over 5'9" so haven't run into this issue. There are other girls in my gym that are shorter than me and haven't seen that…

((edit - double posted duh!))

Thanks guys! Hitting a 100 lb bench was one of my mini-goals, for sure! It helped that my (male) friend was there, pushing me and taunting me with the 2.5 lb weight haha "You don't want to quit with only 95 lbs do you!?" I'm nervous for my OHP tomorrow. What is the hip movement you referenced, jennie? There was a Mark…

Felt like pushing the upper end of my limits today, so I did so after my work sets. Here's what I did (in pounds) squat: 135 x 5 bench 100 x 2 row 105 x 5 I could have done more if I was "fresh" but was super excited to get that much :)
-
I just finished the first week and am in love, love, love. I do feel like I could be lifting a lot heavier, but am sticking with the low weights for now, watching my form in the mirror, and following the plan to hopefully make steady progression when I get to the "big girl" weights, lol

Casein protein.

Branched-chain amino acids. Basically, they help build and/or repair muscle tissue.

I'm 27, so I'm at the tail end of this, but I'll claim it as long as I can! ;) Feel free to add me
